Vern- that's 77-Cc is a beauty and I will have one soon from a mutual Friend hopefully.
Here's a coin I saw and out in a bid nit thinking I would win it and actually forgot about it for over a week or more well I had no choice but to buy it when I got the email lol. She is a beautiful peice and can't wait to have it in hand
There are several PUPs; OBV: Die Chip between star 8 & 9, the diagonal and horizontal lines of the 4 is present over the mast of the original 4, there is a blob of material from the overlying digit on the 9. REV: Distinctive die crack pattern.

I almost pulled the trigger on this one from the online seller...there is something going on within the denticles under the date, primarily the "8" diagonal markings of some sort...especially in the enlarged TrueView image...What do you think of it in-hand?
oih8 - Congrats on the variety pickup. On the 78-CC (which is back with its owner so I can't look at it other than with blow-ups of my pics), it looks like digits in the denticles.
Voyageur - Neat die cracks. Thanks for posting.
Vern l It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got.
For OLD-TIMES SAKE. Haven't had a Seated NEWP in a long time. But aside from my avatar, these are 2 of my fav's in a small collection of halves and quarters. Glad I bought them from @RichUrich in 2008 when he had them budget-priced and I had the budget.
I received a group of raw coins from an Economy submission last week. The lone seated coin in the group failed to grade, an 1872 S Seated Half Dime:
The coin was bagged for being "Scratched". Although I see some very light scratches I'm having trouble seeing anything significant enough to not give the coin a grade. Maybe I'm missing something?

Yes, I submitted it for a variety grade for $17 additional just to get it bagged for something I can't see.
Vern- Doug wow on the CC quarter pickups. I can only dream of having a lower grade of those dates.
Lenny- stunning 78cc I saw it online as well. Super coin.
This is my newest NewP for my type set and it's super original with semi Pl surfaces. Anyone care to guess the grade
.
Maybe the toning makes it hard to see for gtg. To me it doesn't have the wear of a 50. I'll have it in hand in a couple
days and that's Interetesting yall agree with a proof because VB I thought the rim looked different also
