LM - You're going to have your type set complete soon at this rate.
I've certainly gone after it with some gusto (and I'm awaiting news on my offer on a Trade dollar this morning), but I'm really pulling out all the stops fund-wise (and sold some love tokens to bring the Trade dollar just within reach- hopefully).
But that will leave the half (I've got my eye on one), the dollar, and the 20c piece, and those last two are gonna take me a little while.
Certainly it does look as though I might have that little seven-piece set done in well under the year I initially planned on. Then when it's done, I'll probably sell it and roll the money into something nice for my Box of 20. So it's a relatively short term diversion, perhaps, but no less enjoyable for all that.
Update: and here is that Trade dollar, now mine. (For the purposes of my seven-piece Capital Plastics frame set, it's considered a Seated type).
The 1871-CC was originally in pc30 purchased from Northern Nevada a few years ago.
I was planning on buying the gardner 55 when it came up for sale, so I consigned this to HLRC (who upgraded it for me prior to selling to a pc35) , and it also give me the extra funds to cover walts 72-cc in 53 and a 93-s morgan in 55.
I ended up losing out on the 71-cc in 55, not because it went too high, it actually went a bit lower than I thought it would, but I got screwed over by a dealer friend (no longer a friend) of mine who I loaned 20k to to buy some gold. (knew him for 7 years, just goes to show you)
Update: the coin in question the 71-cc pc35 did not meet reserve at a lower price than I paid for it originally from NNVC. Stacks auction
NewP into my collection... can't wait to receive this one. I never thought I would obtain this date in respectable condition with natural, problem-free surfaces; it's so hopelessly rare in choice condition that I wasn't even trying to find one. It broke the bank, but it's near the top of my box of 20. It will join two other nice 1860-S quarters in this thread that were posted earlier by other collectors.
Now watch a hoard of them in MS65 turn up in an old building in San Fran. tomorrow morning....
Jim - Thanks for the info on the 71-CC. Too bad about the timing on the Gardner 71-CC auction.
mvs7 - Congratulations on the ANA newps, and thanks for posting them here.
Ron - Wonderful 60-S newp. Whatever the price, it was money well spent. What a rarity in this condition. (and if a hoard shows up in SF, I hope it's 41 years newer).

I am not sure if I posted my 1849 $1, but it has been a sore subject for quite some time. PCGS bestowed upon her "AU Details Questionable Color", she still looks mighty nice to me.

oih8 - Hard to say about the color from the pics. If you send it in again, it might straight grade. Sometimes it's just a matter of feeding the machine.

Its been getting close to a year, now, but walt invited me over to his bank to view his seated quarters, he has some nice ones! His bust quarters are quite nice also
It seems that the bigger majority of the 1850 25C have the Misplaced Digit (1) in the denticles, and they are usually not cheap. Doug's PCGS VF35 is a nice one!

Pics for this AM, here would be the perfect seated half type coin (for my collection at least), currently residing in Elmo's collection, PC40:

Both of the 1860-s quarters are rare and awesome.
The 1849 dollar looks like it should slab and it is a high AU if not MS.
The other Seated Quarters are all attractive coins!
PaleElf & semikey - Those are a couple of really attractive dimes. Thanks for posting.

Just posting for another look.
Editing out the double and I'll sub my 70-cc dollar that I may have posted before.
It's dirty.
Doesn't work same as PC
CORRECTION, that 1850 I posted yesterday was an N20 not a 25.
