What is that green spot on obverse??
  • paesanpaesan Posts: 1,555 ✭✭✭✭✭
Green spot shows up on Vern's pix if you look at all of them. Must be a minor camera issue. Not on the coins for sure.

Winky - My camera is starting to show it's age. There are now two spots on all my current pics. (And I just noticed, there is only one spot on a smaller coin).

Paesan - Bruce Jenner salutes you for your signature line.

Pics for this AM, perfect look IMO (altho my pics aren't the best), of a Paesan newp, PC58:

Vern, Had a buyer for the 66-S half dime. I agree, it was a beauty, and it's time to hunt for another quality seated coin. Speaking of Bruce, did you see on Heritage's homepage that the Olympic torch he carried is up for auction? Very interesting how delicately Heritage described the item. Heaven forbid anyone ever gets offended in this great country.

I picked this one up last night at Stacks as a possible upgrade to my existing Type V, there is a little pocket gunk on the date, but it is another 1861/0 overdate. image

Paesan - I didn't see Heritage's description, but I'm guessing they had their legal dept look it over before it was published.

    Vern,
Good looking 40-O quarter...That mintmark looks like it rolled away from the nest a bit...especially compared to your 50-O towards the top of this page in comparison.

I haven't posted in this thread for quite a while, so I'll mix it up a bit with a white PCGS AU 55 1856 50C:

I submitted this raw to PCGS. The coin is too white for most, but it looks 1860 authentic to me.

There seem to be a lot of dipped and scratched coins in this thread. Many of these coins are flat-out ugly, in my opinion.

I almost had me a 1853/4 25C from Heritage yesterday, I was the underbidder, but it probably would have went higher than it did, if I was not detained by a pesky thing called work. Oh well...
