I have always loved this design and wanted one of these. Appropriate I finally got one in 2012 since it has the Mayan calendar
Do you love it? Hate it? Don't give a hoot about non-US gold?

Completely agree! I picked this one up for $805 shipped, you simply can't beat that premium.
My pleasure to share the pic!

For us uninformed in Mexican gold issues....place a penny next to it..for size comparison.
I knew it would happen.

<< <i>Aztec calendar, not Mayan. Incredibly beautiful design, especially in gold!

you beat me to it.
also it's ~27mm in diam. ~ 1 1/8 inches
<< <i>Nice pick-up, but...is this coin visible with the naket eye? Or do you need a loop to see it. 15 grains = .031 toz

Oh yes, it is very visible in hand, it is actually larger than a Washington Quarter at 27.43 mm in diameter (Quarter is 24.3 mm)
It contains 15 grams of gold, not grains... making the actual gold content 0.4823 troy ounce. Now the Dos Pesos I have are very small on the other hand at 1/20th of an Oz and 13 mm diameter.
Also, thanks for the correction that it is the Aztec calendar!

Thanks Weiss.....The 15 gr on the coin had me confused, since gr. normally stands for grain & not gram.
