about the "facts"- You asked the board to recommend an attorney if she didn't complete the sale and only backed down when a threatening email you sent got the desired effect and she shipping the coin. You were livid that a seller might back out of a rock solid deal like a ebay auction. What is wrong about those facts? Can always drag that thread back up and let you read your own words if you forgot how it went down? I wasn't saying anything about you, you're the one who brought my name into your words. PLEASE stop LYING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MODS, crypto79 is LYING about this, I never sent a threatening email to the seller, or any seller ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did ask legal advice on this board, for two reasons, one for knowledge and two to get unethical people from contacting the seller trying to cash in on my very hard work.
what about these rules:
Rule 3) Anyone attacking another poster or making disparaging personal remarks will no longer be allowed to post. No more warnings.
Rule 4) Anyone making libelous remarks concerning any individual, any company, or any other entity will no longer be allowed to post. No more warnings.

I also agree had things evovled more slowly from the buyer, it may have ended up positively.
However, we have all heard "excuses" from sellers.
The buyer thought it was just an excuse. However, the buyer could have felt out the seller to see if he'd finally follow through. The first mistake was the seller's. The second was moving too quickly by the buyer.
I'm still saying they could make up and complete the transaction and adjust the feedback.
Misunderstandings, confusion, lost sales and yadda , yadda and yadda. All it takes is just one situation as this to really screw you. That is why I prefer to conduct most of my coin business in person and preferably with folks I have had a history with. NO fee's , No negative feedback, no harassing e-mails...etc.etc.etc.. Call me old fashioned, but it works for me. Thank you to the Seller for taking time to come here and explain the rest of the story.
If you (the seller) realize you made a mistake, and value your feedback, you should've said let me see if I can unwind the non ebay deal. Or you could've offered the buyer a sincere apology and say allow me to put a double sawbuck in your Paypal account.
<< <i>If you (the seller) realize you made a mistake, and value your feedback, you should've said let me see if I can unwind the non ebay deal. >>
The seller did try to unwind the non-eBay deal. Wouldn't have hurt to have told the buyer that he was trying, of course, but he probably didn't expect to get negged less than a day after the auction ended, either.
I've not bought a coin in probably 5 years on Ebay. Never sold, never will on Ebay. But, if I did I wouldn't deal with most of the folks that always take their private deals public. Sure I can see it if it's a flat out scam. But all the whining over this and that is ridiculous IMO. And I especially will never deal with the same ones that come on here with a bias for the sellers, OR the buyers. Everybody is a big business man/woman..... till they're not.

The $363 was the underbidders highest bid amount. It would have shown as the $349 opening price when the bid of $363.11 was made in th e closing seconds of the auction
<< <i>The seller should just realize his mistake, sell the original coin to the original buyer (who ultimately was right after all of this since he did win the auction) and the seller should count his losses. >>

Don't forget about the part where the seller started receiving eMails because of the thread which was started by the non-buyer. The attempt there, IMO, was to not just to leave the neg and block the seller but to get everybody else on the forums to block him as well!
While this is warranted in a lot of instances, folks should realize that there are many here that go above and beyond what is considered in "good taste" by sending out negative emails over a reported bad transaction. I can't believe this thread is still going....but it is.
And, knowing many of the players, I CAN believe that they don't read everything through, in both threads about this, before making comments
I also can't believe that some people still act like gradeschool kids crying that they will "tell the teacher you are breaking a rule". Nothing in this thread has been a real attack or super intense, but the rules are already being quoted. Wah! Just ignore and move on. It's too bad that that error coin thread wasn't still around and unedited because I do believe that thread got testy and legal action was intimated at...... That said, that isn't what THIS thread is about and so should be elsewhere.
Good move coming on here and clearing it up, again as others have said, its not the end of the world. I think you'll find that a lot of people on here go for the throat at the first sign of trouble. Enjoy Life!
so it has been brought to my attention that there was a bid about 1 hour before the auction ended. I believe that i indicated at the beginning i was looking at the ebay app on my android phone because i was not home with my computer and it was counting down time and showing me no bids.
i wanted the cash. I had already paid a heritage invoice for the replacement which was an ultra cam.

Yes when crypto 79 told an out right lie about me, defaming the way I do business.
He has repeated this lie a number of times over two years.
Why does he keep bring up an old transaction and LIE About it.
I don't get it. >>
Well, he believes in what he says.
The forum records show that you wanted a lawyer to contact the seller to get her to send you that coin:
The forum records also show that you did contact a lawyer:
The forum record does not show what actually happened but bringing a lawyer onto the scene does IMPLY legal action which could only be construed as a law suit. Whether your contract lawyer contacted the seller is unknown but what is known is that you now own a big ticket error coin (20K) that you paid $300 for and now have on your website for $40,000.
Had I or someone I know been the seller, you wouldn't have the coin.
I don't really see crypto as telling lies from what he see's.
And yes, this thread has turned in a different direction but "you" are the one that did the turning by attacking crypto for what he had posted and calling for his bamming.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
It's hard to do, but emotions should be kept out of business transactions. An amicable solution (probably) could have been reached here if everyone had taken a step back, chillaxed and communicated.

HE said I EMAILED a THREAT to the seller, That NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never contacted the seller to threaten the seller in any way, did not happen.
TO BE CLEAR .......... THAT NEVER HAPPENED and CRYPTO 79 IS A LIAR
I did talk to a Lawyer on the phone, for free as I called his office. We never spoke again and no LAWYER sent a letter to the seller on my behalf.
Yes I did ask legal advice from the board and I wanted to keep all my options open. That part is True. I wanted information which is a good thing.
AND let me ask you this...............
What is this thread about and why is their only one photo in this very long thread, and the photo has nothing to do with the OP.
Why was this photo brought up in the first place and then why where LIES told about it???????
So childish.
Why did Crypto go after me (again) this time, well because I called him out for calling a brand new Forum Member a "Sleaze" which was uncalled for and not allowed on these boards and I can't understand why he constantly gets away with it.

It is a huge difference. "Sleaze-bay" refers to ebay, not the seller. Many people refer to ebay as "sleaze-bay" because of the depravity of the venue.

He has repeated this lie a number of times over two years.
Why does he keep bring up an old transaction and LIE About it.
I don't get it.
i wanted the cash. I had already paid a heritage invoice for the replacement which was an ultra cam.
<< <i>so it has been brought to my attention that there was a bid about 1 hour before the auction ended. I believe that i indicated at the beginning i was looking at the ebay app on my android phone because i was not home with my computer and it was counting down time and showing me no bids.

So you started watching on your phone an hour before the auction ended?
And I thought I was obsessive!

The name is LEE!

Are you trying to get yourself banned?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
"Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value---zero."----Voltaire
"Everything you say should be true, but not everything true should be said."----Voltaire
He did not call the member a "sleaze". I believe he called him "a random sleaze-bay seller". Big difference.
<< <i>Are you trying to get yourself banned? >>
Not at all, I just don't take it lightly when someone LIES about the way I do business.
I try my hardest every single day in two different businesses.
I will not stand for someone Lying about me, what if he lied about you?

Oh, that makes all the difference in the world, what a nice guy to call a brand new forum member that.

Wow, this guy ripped off some lady on a 20k coin for $300? She's the one who should have gotten a lawyer. How could anyone sleep at night after doing that?

It is a huge difference. "Sleaze-bay" refers to ebay, not the seller. Many people refer to ebay as "sleaze-bay" because of the depravity of the venue.

If you had let it drop, your business practices never would have been called into question. Keep arguing...
That is why I am so PO'd that someone would LIE about what happened,
By the way, welcome Spendabuckeye.
Rule 3) Anyone attacking another poster or making disparaging personal remarks will no longer be allowed to post. No more warnings.
Crypto, you have called another forum member a "Sleaze"
You are the one who misspoke. Crypto never called anyone a sleaze. By attacking Crypto, you drew the attack toward yourself. And so it goes.
He says he called someone "Sleazy" himself so that is what he meant.
Nice that you defend Crypto for calling a NEW member sleazy and then going after me with lies on a two year old subject.
<< <i>Crypto 79 direct quote ..... "That said I think that situation applies here and feel free to re-quote the part where I called someone sleazy that started your tiraid"

Yes, he said feel free to re-quote it because he did not say that. He was challenging to find where he called someone sleazy. Duh!
That's okay. Keep arguing the point. GoldClause now thinks you ripped an old lady.
Seller puts up a coin for sale and determines the price. I buy the coin. How did I rip anyone off.

To be fair...
He asked you to show where he called someone "sleazy", he did NOT call someone sleazy.
He called eBay "sleaze-Bay", as have many posters to this forum.
Can we just let this drop now? Please?
<< <i>I ripped no one off.

I never said you did...just like crypto never called anyone "sleazy".
This is what Crypto said about a new forum member , and what a nice way to welcome a new member ..... and what stated his lies about me
"Seller is a tool and that is assuming he isn't just full of it to begin with. Hes actions follow bad business 101 human nature and I am surprised that the board would pile on one of our own for a random sleaze-bay seller who is wrong. "
I Promise Not to Defend another forum member when he's called names like a "tool" or a "random sleaze-bay seller"
<< <i>ErrorsOnCoins thanks for bringing this all out i now have 1 more person on my list of not to buy from and no it's not the seller from ebay >>
Please look at my ebay feedback and my auctions.
I thank you for you comment.
edited to add - Welcome to the forum spendabuckeye hope once this all dies down you'll stay. Looks like a real nice cam pf 3 cent nickel you had in your collection.

If you read my reply to crypto from yesterday, I disagreed with crypto and defended the seller without calling out crypto, demanding that he be banned from the forum, and getting myself into a tussle in which everyone piled on me instead. I guess there's an art to it (either way).

Wow.
Communication 101 wasn't someone's strongest class was it?
Might I recommend a rereading what was said? Such as: "feel free to re-quote the part where <insert "you think"> I called someone sleazy that started your tiraid?"

I don't think you ripped anybody off.
It's absolutely no different than all the folks out there going to one of these Hotel Gold Buyers and getting $300 for each $20 gold piece they bring in.
But...............
Please refrain from talking about ethics or good business practices. It kinda rubs folks the wrong way.
