<< <i>Seems Fidelity made their decsion to sell these. Unlike the other APs. The mint needs to put a list of those APs that accepted their allotment. >>
If I read the latest Mint guidelines the AP's have until the 20th to order their pucks. After that they will be released to those who did order them.
So....the list of AP's selling them probably won't be final until after the 20th....
I called Fidelitrade @ 845a cst and talked to Linda. After getting on the list, I asked how many people are on the list, she said, "Over two hundred, but there will be plenty", which I took to mean referring to Fidelitrade's expected supply of ATB pucks. So, we'll see.

spot + 9.95 + 10% + Reasonable Shipping and handling fee Since the mint is not specifying the "Reasonable shipping and handling fee"....we've seen what AP's think is reasonable. So for them....$500 s/h

No reason for apmex to be in a hurry since there is no price war or strategic sales efforts to worry about. They know they are going to get their allotment, they know how much they are going to charge for them, they know they will sell out...they can do it whenever they get ready.

Call all the congressmen/women that co-sponsored this bill H.R. 6184, back in 2008, and tell them to amend the legislation and extend the time limits placed on the mint for sale/production/distribution of these coins.
APMEX is holding a lot of money in payments for multiple sets. They need to do something soon........
Exactly! I mailed a business check for 2 sets a couple of weeks ago. I also checked my bank account online and it was deposited by APMEX almost 2 weeks ago. With the new limits/restrictions imposed by the US Mint, I called APMEX asking how they are going to work that, if I would be getting a refund check from them for the difference, etc. They didn't know anything yet!! All they told me was they would be releasing a statement sometime this week regarding the ATB 5-oz coins. I mentioned the fact that I am losing out in interest, etc on my money while they hold it until they make a decision. They didn't seem to care.
If anyone knows more about how they are going to handle order limits, refunds, etc. please post it. Thanks!

The interest you're losing is negligible. (2 or 3 bucks on a single set?) When all the orders are added up though, their float can add up quickly.

Actually I think what Geoman is really losing is the loss of the use of his money. I'm pretty sure while APMEX holds his money, he could have reinvested in other inventory which could have been sold. Anyone that owns a retail shop will tell you the opportunity to buy and sell bullion is pretty big and with a chunk of available cash tied up for no reason, he is losing money everyday. Opportunity cost, not interest earned by a loss in my mind.
Yes, I agree with you on the float. Nice little wind fall for them.

I actually don't mind something like this, for any country, if an issue is considered "hot". If I collected Korean coins, and they had a low mintage item, and it was 1 per, then I would be ok with Koreans getting it first. Same for Japan/China/Canada/etc.
Particularly if it were for something "patriotic". As long as it is from a country's own national mint, then I don't see an issue.
