Yes, the Economy is doing well thanks to eight years of good leadership prior to Jan. 20, 2017, but please re-read what I said, or have somebody read it to you.

The economy has done well because we, the people, are greater than any Govt. People gotta eat, gotta stay warm and dry, and like to practice making babies which leads to an increasing population and growing demand for the aforementioned.

The death of the USA will take much more than poor politics. The last 200 years demonstrates that.

Dollar index should start a steady climb now that Bannon is out. He was a strong supporter of a weak dollar in his trade battles.

I see that the U.S. Dollar Index is dropping close to 100. I believe that we will see it drop well below 100, and that precious metals will gain from the drop.
My opinion only. Your mileage may vary.

I think that holders of precious metals should be prepared for a stock market decline that directly impacts their holdings as contracts are liquidated to compensate for stock market losses.

If you can weather that problem, now is a fine time to continue normal accumulation - otherwise, it would be wise to plan operating budgets around a liquidity event by holding enough cash aside.

As I recall, precious metals recovered much more quickly and even outperformed most everything else after the 2008 event, but it took a little while for the flight to gold to take place. In other words, don't be vulnerable to a shakeout.

    When the sp500 dropped 13% in Jan/Feb 2016, gold went from 1060 to 1260.

    Agree, buy during the shakeout.

The drop in stocks, or rally in gold? Most folks don't know the average stock dropped 20% in 2015/2016, and I believe is their basis for thinking a bigger drop is forthcoming.

Will be interesting to see if the Dollar drops off the edge of the table top when trading opens in three hours, and if so if gold goes in the opposite direction.

    Or not.

It's especially good for companies that have a lot of cash overseas and can bring it home for just a small tax. Interesting that the dollar index is down by about as much as the tax. Cool.

The Dollar has now slipped below 89, despite Trump's effort to support it yesterday in Switzerland.
