Not sure of the year and which car he is spokesperson for (maybe my fellow Carter collector Abe can help me out on this one) but Gary added a nice big signature to this poster
No expert but that looks like a 1982 Chrysler New Yorker (ironic, yes, but it was built in Canada, so maybe that's why Gary's shilling it. And boy, leaning over that hood, he's really shillin').

One of the first items I ever won on ebay --- 1985 Catch the Rising Stars / WOR-TV 9 Poster As of the date of this post you can pick up a signed copy via Gary's site Gary Carter Foundation --- items for sale for $40.00
Back in 1989 Topps put out a card set with "plastic records" on the back that you can listen to with the Sports Talk Player 4 cards came in a pack and Gary is on top of this one. I also still have the player and it still works. On Gary's "card/record" he talks with Don Drysdale about why he chose baseball over football and what it felt like to win the 86 World Series Note: as soon as you "use" the card you destroy the chance that it would grade higher than a 5 --- by using the player it instantly puts 4 dents in the card (front cover locks it in so the card wont spin with the player.)

1988 Donruss Mets Team Collection ~~~ Full Book Fun oddball item with Gary on the cover and in the middle of page 1 --- there are 3 pages of cards (27 cards) and a Stan Musial puzzle on page 4
Mike, That poster is awesome! I have never seen that one before. I have 3 of those really large subway posters but all of mine are for Daily News. One more thing to add to the list!!!
Abe
Collecting anything and everything relating to Roger Staubach
Thought I would have a theme for this next month --- I am going to post 8 cards that were either autographed or have a bit of memorabilia on them. Again my scanner stinks so some of the "shinier" ones I might need to use a camera
This first grouping includes the first?? signed Carter issue (top right and middle) A 1986 TCMA card -- this card was part of a 3 card set that had Bret Saberhagen and Tony Gwynn and given out if you bought their other sets -- I scanned the back since it was the "first"
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to my wife and all the other Moms out there
The Upper Deck Heroes of Baseball (Top Right) was the first bat/jersey card that I obtained --- hate the fact that any company cuts up bats/jerseys/other --- I would rather have the full item but since they were new Carter cards I had to add them to my collection
First few "sticker" autographed cards that I grabbed when they came out --- I think a sheet of the signed stickers would be a better collectible --- hopefully the glue will hold 25+ years from now
Note the Topps Super Teams Jersey Card --- they cut up a Jersey that was signed (or someone's kid was playing with a sharpie) -- I wrote to Topps when I got this, included a pic, and asked if they had a picture of the Jersey prior to the scissors -- got no response
I was happy that Donruss used some of Gary's cards for their 2002 Recollection Collection subset When Gary was traded in to the Mets he would still sign TTM for free but only cards from 1984 and earlier. All cards 1985 and on he required a donation to the Leukemia Society. So it was great to add some signed Mets cards to my collection -- these cards are also numbered 1987 # to 125 ~ 1989 # to 100
It looks like the 2002 Fleer Fall Classic Jersey cards are the same (middle right side) -- but I assure you they are different --- there is an original and a gold (numbered to 100) the color of the card, numbering the back and logo~which you can't tell because it is too "shiny" and the scanner will not pick it up --- {does anyone have a remedy for that?} is what tells them apart
Nice 2001 Topps combo card with Dawson. I was gald he finally made it to the Hall of Fame and it is always nice to have multiple Hall of Famers on 1 card.
I love the 2003 Hawaii Convention auto Card (Top Middle) these were given to people/dealers that attended that years convention
The 2003 Topps Fan Favorites uses the same card as the 2001 Topps Archives autograph (day 31 bottom middle) this time the autograph goes up the left side (I have not seen any that go across the middle)
<< <i>Very cool. I'm just catching up, but this is great.
From this page, my favorite is the middle card on May 8. Great picture, great design, and it looks like it's an on-card auto... >>
It is an on card auto and it was the first "new" image to come out in a long time ~ it comes from the 2000 Topps Stars set -- it was also my "1992 Donruss Diamond King Super" for a very long time.

Nice. I'm so frustrated by the constant recycling of images on new cards. I mean, there are probably a dozen Will Clark slides available on Ebay right now for $9.99. Buy a couple of those and get some new life on these cards. Right?
Once again same card but different variations 2003 Playoff Piece of the Game --- Jacket Card ---- there is a Gold #50 Silver #75 Bronze #150 Brown not numbered
Also -- not sure what happened with 2003 Leaf Limited Team Trademarks Carter auto -- the front states Authentic signature but the back states that it should be a jersey card
In 2003 SP came out with Legendary Cuts Historic Lumber (top row) --- I believe there are others out there (tomorrow I will post a pic of the Historic Swatches)
More 2003 SP Legendary Cuts -- This time we have some Historic Swatches --- Once again the scanner cannot pick up the marble borders -- there is red, green, purple and blue (maybe more)
Donruss had more Recollection Collection in 2004 1981 is numbered to 27 1982 is numbered to 36 1983 is numbered to 42 1986 is numbered to 61 1990 is numbered to 12 1991 is numbered to 21
The last row has Topps Gold Label Bat cards -- there is a Gold, Platinum and Titanium version Needed to use the camera on these -- the image is almost like a mirror
A 1988 EPYX ~ Sporting News baseball game -- box, instructions and 5.25 floppy. I have never owned an Apple or PC back in 88 but would be interested to hear from someone if they ever had/played this.
(edit for date) >>
Late to the party, but I played this game endlessly. You could add HOFers from the past to your current lineup. The Cubs were my favorite, I think.
Can't remember anything about the interface, but I know you would basically simulate games, make lineup changes, etc.
I distinctly remember December 10, 1984. As a 9 year old Canadian kid, there wasn't much more that I was interested in than hockey and baseball, and the Expos were my favourite of the two Canadian MLB teams. When Gary Carter got traded to the Mets, it was big news.
It was the lead story on CBC that morning, and as I ate my Wayne Gretzky Pro Stars cereal in disbelief, I learned a little bit about what true disappointment felt like.
Not only did the Expos trade my second favourite player (the Hawk will always be #1 in my books), but then I was subjected to the assorted and numerous defects of the men who were traded for him. No offence, Herb Winningham, Floyd Youmans, Hubie Brooks, and Mike Fitzgerald, wherever you all are.
My first "Ball" card ----- The 2003 Upper Deck Sweet Spots Classics (Top row right side) -- Black Auto numbered to 173 there is also a Red Ink version that is numbered to 25 --- have not seen this yet
2004 Leaf Certified Materials Mirror cards # 212 (2nd and 3rd rows) There are Blue ones, Red ones, White ones, Gold ones (other??) which include Pants, Bat, Pants and Bat, Autos (other??)

Here is a complete 1991 Topps Stadium Club uncut sheet showing Gary's card (#424) --- also the sheet never made it through the gold foil step.
Not sure of the year and which car he is spokesperson for (maybe my fellow Carter collector Abe can help me out on this one) but Gary added a nice big signature to this poster
