Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
So I had this idea around late July of 2010 … an idea that even I can admit was unique, unreal and WAY WAY over the top. ~~~ BUT ~~~ if I didn’t try it would just be a wasted thought.
Now here’s where the crazy light bulb pops above my head.
I was looking through ebay for some Carter stuff and watching Bruce Willis save the Earth in Armageddon and BANG!!!! I wondered if baseball cards ever went into space. >>
Well, it's not baseball cards, but I can tell you that a Wacky Packages sticker DID go into space. It was the sticker "Crust". I'm trying to find the details of how it transpired, but it may be tough as it was almost ten years ago.
There was an astronaut with MN ties who wanted to bring a Puckett bobblehead into space but it was shot down for the weight of it and not the collectible aspect and I think he settled for a pennant. Nice try on getting something into space.
Mike ... this thread now stands as a great memorial to Mr. Carter.

You know, when I was reading the RIP thread here yesterday I thought about this thread too. Glad you guys bumped it. Yes, it does stand as a VERY nice memorial to Gary.

The items below hang proudly on my Christmas tree All except the 87 one were made this year (the 1987 one I made 2 years ago)
The large 88 score and small one need 20 cards each The star has the 85 topps on one side and 90 donruss on the other (5 of each) and the 87 needs 4 of each.
I also made another round one with 1990 topps cards that is sized between the small and big one which I sent on to a friend.

I posted this on Muggy's thread, but it also belongs here too.

Love it when people take the time to post so many great items for others to share. Every time I see a website or thread like this, it makes me want to do the same, but the reality of actually doing it usually shuts me down soon after.
Anything not pictured that you may have that also features Steve Garvey? I would be talking about more obscure items. I found several items on a Rose site I was unaware of and have added to my scan collection and although I doubt I'll ever see any of them, to my want list as well.
I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
This thread is amazing. As a lifelong Gary Carter fan, I am impressed at your collection. Is there anything new you can show off that isn't posted in this thread?
