Well, that sucked. I mentioned here that I was worried about the Ravens, and it came true. I still never thought it would be that bad. Simms said after the game that he thought both Brady and Moss were hurt (and of course no Welker) but even so, it was a tough one to watch.

I still think the Ravens are the best team in the AFC this season, even with no quarterback. They are going to give the Colts all they can handle.

Don't worry, Jerry, you can still watch the Jets next Sunday!! image

Flacco threw 10 passes today, Sanchez threw 15 yesterday and was near-perfect. Who needs to throw when you can the ball down the other team's throat?

I'm still a little under the weather, so brain isn't 100%.. Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall the Pats winning the original coin toss. They deferred, BAL elected to receive, and NE decided to take the ball going toward the sun.

If this is correct and the players were complaining about the sun before kickoff, why did NE take the ball on that side of the field? Was it because of the wind? Were they not use to playing in the early game?

I've done some searching on the interwebs and haven't seen anything about it.

Or am I completely wrong and this was all a figment of my imagination?

  • I missed the kickoff but recall the comentators praising the coach for the Ravens saying that he checked the sun before the game and put NE in a situation where the sun worked in advantage for the Ravens at the start of the game.

I must say my wife was NOT pleased with that game. I was sleeping at the time (I work overnight shifts) and she accidentally woke me up when that one Ravens guy returned a kickoff for their first touchdown near the start of the game; guess we should've known that was NOT a good sign. image

Maybe the Red Sox (and my Kentucky Wildcats) will have better luck! image
