Even though I personally didn't agree with Caldwell, and still don't, he got a lot of vindication today.

Yup its all bad news for Welker/Pats/Pats fans Torn MCL & ACL Im friggen heated right now, but again nobody to blame unfortunately its part of the game, The Pats have been stung by very bad luck since the 2007 Super Bowl, I guess its evening out all our good fortune we have had.
Well we are STILL in it and have a shot, other than that lets hope for a recoverey of Welker and being back to 100% for next Season.
May sound weird, but I think Welker's injury may just unify the Pats. Edelman is adequate, and I think the running game will be there. It will force a little more game planning than "throw it to welker when moss is covered" - which is a good thing.

Sorry about Welker. When the injury happened, the crowd became instantly quiet.
Otherwise, great game

Bummed about Welker, but this shows why the Patriots have a championship organization and teams like the Colts do not. Instead of playing scared, the Pats played like it was just another game - take care of business and win. Brady has broken ribs, a broken finger, and he was out there yesterday taking some tough hits from the Texans defense. And he'll be out there Sunday doing the same thing. You have to play the game, hiding and playing with the fear of injury is only going to make things worse. If they go out early in these playoffs, you still have to admire the professionalism that the Patriots show every game they play. Other teams could learn from it.
So if the Colts win it all this year and have 2 SB wins this decade they have something to learn from anyone???? I think whatever it takes to win you do it, style points don't count. Winnining all your regular season games but losing the SB still means you lost.
Go ahead if it makes you feel better if you lose in this years playoffs because you did it a more "manly" way than the Colts.
Also the team with the most wins this decade is the Colts. Seems they have a pretty strong "winning" franchise.

The Patriots will be "One & Done" in my opinion, Brady is hurt and we all need to realize this team has been LUCKY to win the division, and it needs alot of work. Bellichek and his "almighty Me" persona has caught up to him, dont get me wrong I love the guy but the BOTTOM LINE is PLAYERS WIN GAMES just as much as Coaches do. Getting rid of guys that brought you success because you think your ideas will make any group of players get the job done is wrong and I bet Bellichek & the organization is starting to realize that.
The notion that you leave your star players in a meaningless game to prove your "toughness" as a team is really silly. Even if you disagree with teams that rest star players in similar situations, you can certainly see why being catious is often the better way to go. No one cares how you win the Super Bowl, and the Pats Super Bowl hopes have taken a big hit with Welker's injury. I agree with Perk...I think that Belicvhek's arrigance as a coach has caught up with him to some degree this season..

Agree about it being foolish to leave the Star Players in however I DO think its a good idea to give them at least some reps in a meaningless game IE: Last game of reg Season to keep guys sharp ect.. Lets not Forget Welker got hurt in the first series so Like I said Nobody to blame.
Copying this from CBS Sports, optimistic info regarding Welker's Knee injury...
News: The Boston Globe reports that a team source confirmed that Patriots WR Wes Welker has a torn left ACL and MCL, but according to a specialist familiar with the injury, his rehabilitation might not take as long as a typical knee ligament tear. That's because Welker was hurt on a non-contact play, according to Dr. Lonnie Paulos, who performed surgery on Carson Palmer's knee several years ago. Although the severity of the ligament tears is not known, Paulos imagines that the MCL will be allowed to heal itself while Welker has surgery to repair the ACL. "The recovery should be very similar to what Tom [Brady]'s was," Paulos said. "I would anticipate him back getting in a timely fashion. He'll make it."
I was just telling my wife about how the Patriots have the #3 seed and will first face Baltimore, then San Diego and most likely Indy to get to the Super Bowl. We know the odds are against them but remember, Pittsburgh in 2005 won the SB as a mere #6 seed. Anything can happen in the playoffs, right?

Baltimore worries me the most - I'm not too concerned with the Chargers or Colts. They have to get through Sunday's game, and I'm sure it will be a battle.

Why would Baltimore worry you the most? They're a mere six seed and you're hosting them (and you don't get to host San Diego or Indy)! Oh, wait a second, I did mention another six seed that...

Yes this game is not "over" yet. But we dont have a shot at pulling this out, this is a fitting way to end our season filled with sceptical play calling, injuries & poor defensive play.
The guys at work called me insane for saying we would not win this game ( I will make some money on wagers though )
Congrats to the Ravens, you guys came to play and deserve this win.
I LOVE THE PATRIOTS! Looking forward to a hopefully rebound year next season!
Still a three score game but Tom Brady does not look good at all. Didn't Randy Moss say something about being able to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders?
