Wake up and smell the coffee. These are crap cards with crap autos and crap SP's and crap inserts. I love how Kevin defends his beloved Heritage set then admits they are crap but sugar coats the crap. Wow!! I just pulled a $5 black refractor out of this $75 box!! Awesome!!

Box 4 and 5 were complete crap, especially what I went through today to get them, first UPS didn't deliver because the idiot seller forgot to include my office suite number then I had to beg the UPS lady to give me my package, because it was 8:31....I digress. Nothing worth scanning. 15 SPs total, 9 chromes, 1 refractor, 2 GU, no ink. What bums me out about this whole deal was 5 boxes and not one 1960 buyback (granted it probably would have been some spare KC Athletic).
On a second note I won the Glavine, I will scan the back when it arrives. Recession be damned!!!
Wow!! I just pulled a $5 black refractor out of this $75 box!! Awesome!!
Well, it was a $59 box. I won't be selling the card. Hopefully I will trade it to a Red Sox fan for a similar card of one of my beloved Pirates.
In 1981, I traded all of my Phillies (who had just won the World Series) to my neighbor for all of his Pirates. I gave him Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton. The best card I got was Bill Madlock. Now, that was awesome!
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason. Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason. My Pirates Collection
And of those 15 SPs, 13 were ones I already had...FROM 3 boxes. This is horrible luck. What did I do to hack off the Heritage Gods??? Oh well at least I have some trade bait.
Here is my 12-box update. Three of these boxes came from different cases. I still have three from my case to rip. I have pulled the following so far.
0 SSPs 1 Blue Auto 1 Black Refractor 3 Blank Cards 11 CC 13 Refractors 47 Chromes including 8 doubles (including Manny, Longoria, Fu kudome, Santanan, Beltran) 22 NF 1 complete set, another set minus 2 cards 22 BF 1 complete set, another set minus 1 card 23 TN 1 complete set, another set minus 3 cards 21 NAP missing three 94 SPs including 34 doubles - missing 15 SPs for first set
Also I should be very close to three base sets in this mess. I had to stop because the sorting tray is full.

For someone who really hates these cards, you are spending an awful lot of time in here reading about them. Closet Heritage fan?
Consider he has 5000+ posts in about 15 months...thats about 10 posts every single day for the last year. i'd say he spends a LOT of time all over these boards.
Bill (lsutigers1973) has graciously accepted my request to stop poking sticks at us heritage collectors. I thank him for that, and now we can move this thread in a "positive only" direction from here forward.
Edited to add: I only mention this so that everyone knows and stops firing back at him as well.
<< <i>My local shop finally got some Heritage. Unfortunately they're asking $109.99. Needless to say I only bought 3 packs. >>
$110 per box is probably right in line with what my local shop will be charging. I'll just have to be patient - my retail case should hopefully only be another week. Maybe blasters will hit before then and I can pick up a couple to tide me over.
I am finished ripping. After 15 boxes I still need 9 SPs and 2 NAPs. My case yielded 2 blue autos and one black refractor. The scans below are from the last three boxes from my case.

<< <i>....That sucks that the mayo inserts take the place of SP's....... >>
They dont. The SPs are seeded "per card" just like all the other heritage products.
Hobby case has 2304 cards of which 96 are SPs, which means that every 24th card is an SP (or 1:3 hobby packs) Jumbo case has 1680 cards of which 60 are SPs, which means that every 28th card is an SP (or 1:2 jumbo packs)
Jumbo 6 box case totals 60 SPs (55 different) 22 chromes (all different) 6 refractors 1 black refractors 13 of 15 NAPs full T&N set full BF set full NF set 2 full sets of Mayos 3 clubhouse collections - Tejada, Youkilis, and Crawford
