<< <i>I know that if I were the buyer, and I got what I believed to be a good deal, that I would be upset, especially if you didn't dc. I would hope that you would have been able to work it out so that everyone was happy, and it is unfortunate that wasn't the case. >>
That's all based on the premise that the buyer really didn't get the item. It is a likely possibility that the buyer saw no DC, and just decided to try to get free cards. >>
The buyer has decent feedback. I am not saying that is not possible, but just seems unlikely over a $19 card. I know sometimes I worry about only getting a DC that the postman simply forgets to scan it....so the thought has crossed my mind from time to time, so i know what you are saying...
or how about when someone (nick) sends some sweet 1953 bowman color beauties to you (that being me) goes througt the trouble to have signature confirmation....and the mailman crams the box into my mailbox and doesnt get my signature, YET online it says i signed for it...hmmm. (def. not my regular mailman!)

Didn't that terrific guy even send them before your check arrived?
This one doesn't seem to be looking good as the carrier must not have scanned it in and so paypal has no way to confirm I ever sent it.
It might not matter since paypal requires proof of delivery, but even if the carrier didn't scan upon delivery, you should still see something like this when you check the status online:
Detailed Results:
Arrival at Unit, July 13, 2008, 12:46 pm, TUCKERTON, NJ 08087 Processed, July 11, 2008, 5:55 pm, SWEDESBORO, NJ 08085 Electronic Shipping Info Received, July 10, 2008
This is for a package sent with paypal shipping that hasn't been delivered yet. If your status ends with "electronic shipping..." then it was probably really lost or stolen by the USPS.
The post office used to only scan packages at acceptance (if brought to a retail center) and then delivery, but EVERY package I've mailed with dc for the last several months has been scanned at least once prior to reaching the carrier. Usually, they're scanned at a local distribution center and then at a station near the buyer.
Most of my DC packages only get scanned at accecptance and at the actual delivery nothing in between.
Are you using paypal shipping? I can pick any label from my paypal account, and they all show steps in between when I click on additional details, regardless of which state it was delivered to.
I don't know why they wouldn't do that with other labels, but I don't have any of the green labels I can check.
Nam - I know the electronic step was first. The point was that if it had not been scanned again (which it should have been...unless I'm the only person the post office provides this service to), then it would be the last step, showing that the package was lost long before reaching the carrier.

Check the dates. The status doesn't end with that, it starts with that.
