<< <i>I vote post all the scans you want and make all the wisecracks you want. It is just a message board.

Lee is a good poster. Some of his wisecracks are a little irritating to me, many others are really funny. I usually ignore those that I don't like...I laugh at those I do. THis is just me.

Interestingly, I whipped my fair share of ass growing up but I rarely scan my cards. To be fair, I don't have freckles though. >>

Although I do agree, that's probably why i keep coming back for more punishment...I laugh a lot here.... >>

I decided to quote instead of editing, because editing looks bad on me....or so I have been told....

Anyway, I just wanted to add, you see, it's okay to have fun, and make people laugh...there is good fun healthy humor and then there is just
plain being an idiot...Yours is in good taste...

PS - I love my freckles now!

<< <i>Anyway, for now, I am perfectly content with others viewing me as the black sheep of the family that enjoys sharing his scans, even when others have a problem with that.

I think this scan is appropriate....I could only imagine what he went through...

Are you out of your effing mind?! You are comparing getting called pompous and overbearing on an internet message board dedicated to sports cards to going through what Jackie Robinson did? Are you clinically insane?

I'd take a few days off from here and get your head on straight. That is easily the mosr ridiculous thing I've ever read in my life.

This card may be more apropriate for your situation:

  • << <i>

<< <i>Hof, are you comparing what Jackie Robinson went through to what you are going through here ?? >>

    Of course not...
Jokingly, I am just saying, just because some people don't like me sharing scans of my cards, that I am going to stop.
..it was a silly metaphor...and of course I had to share another scan...nevermind... >>

I read earlier today a serious post by Lee where he stated that Tim Hudson will be the next to win 300 games, IMO Lee should definetly just stick to the one liners image

At first i enjoyed HOF's cards but after a while i have to admit it got a little out of hand. I always wondered if i was the only one who noticed lol.

Not sure if he has shown his cards or not in the " Show your collection " thread but i think that would be a good way to show his cards he has and we can enjoy them all at one time in one post because he does have a nice collection IMO

    just my 2 pennies

  • Just curious, I saw a few people that spoke up for Cdsnuts...just curious of those that did, if they feel that Gumby is of the same character caliber as Cdsnuts,
since I really don't know either...but I have some definite impressions of gumby, that i doubt could be easily changed.

  • I have never had a transaction with Lee or even really talked to him. However, I enjoy his witty remarks and have seen numerous threads where users had a question regarding an obscure item and Lee was the only one with any useful information. My last .02.
  • Ok, I think I have heard enough.

I will no longer share any scans of any cards in any threads unless one of the following is true.

    1. I start the thread (then you can bet your sweet bippee that there will be at least one scan).
    2. The same set is mentioned.
    3. Someone request scans be shared.
    4. Mail call
    5. A specific player is mentioned.

    hmmm...maybe I can think of a couple other reasons...lol

    Is gumby Lee?

If so, LSU thinks gumby is witty...
  • gumby makes me laugh, but he is a Jim gantner fan, so he must have a few screws loose.

i have nothing else to add on this matter, other than I do not have freckles, I DID hit someone in the face with my STAR WARS Lunchbox who tried to steal my pudding in 5th grade....and this quote made me do a doubletake.....

"I think this scan is appropriate....I could only imagine what he went through..."

Martin Luther King just rolled over in his grave, rose from the dead and is slowly marching towards your house with a well sharpened ginsu. He says he just wants to talk......
  • I dont care for Gumbyfan either but I am mature enough to ignore him if he says something I do not like.

Ok, cool...I just got another PM - this is fun...and I wont quote names, and it wasn't from stan....

For what it's worth, Lee is just a little sarcastic, but I don't think he really means anything by it. On the other hand, Gumby is just an EDIT!

Thank God I'm pretty secure with myself and don't post on a message board for my daily affirmation. It really doesn't affect me one bit for you or anyone else to have a negative opinion of me. I know who I am and I'm cool with me.

Hopefully, someday you'll be cool with you, hof.

Sport. what is your issue? Do you need some sort of community confirmation to base your final opinon upon? Who cares what anyone else thinks about anyone else's opinons? If you believe what you say is right, then so be it. Stop worrying about whether you have to justify something or if the majority favor someone over you. This isn't a popularity contest.

I chuckle at all the mentions of happenings in first and second grade because it is rather obvious by the tone and rhetoric of some of the previous posts that a few have yet to reach the third grade!

I realized about 50 or 60 posts ago that arguing with hofautos wasn't worth my whole Sunday, but I wanted to thank Leo (bobafett72) and Jason (Morgoth) for their kind words about me. You guys, and many many others on these message boards, are ok in my book.

And not that I think he needs any reassurances, but I want to say that in my opinion, Craig (gumbyfan) is a helpful and active contributor to these boards as well.

OK, I came on here after my kid's baseball game and....whoa. Hijack doesn't even come close. NP... just, whoa.

Yes, when I first posted I was mistaken about the payment w/o DC. Shouldn't be a big deal. I corrected.

I mail 25+ packages a month and I have less than one a year have issues. About 50% of transactions happen on eBay. I've bought, sold and traded with many people on the boards here. I've bought and sold for 20+ years and even set up at shows 20 years ago throughout MN.

When I drop a package in the mail with a paypal label....I just don't ever have a problem, till now. I've won my share of disputes because I always use DC on my paypal labels. This one doesn't seem to be looking good as the carrier must not have scanned it in and so paypal has no way to confirm I ever sent it.

I'm used to dealing with people, both good and bad. I refunded to take the high road. I didn't expect to get neg'd out of the deal as I thought I was more than fair by eating the cards and refunding the same day as the request. This guy got under my skin and so I alerted everyone.

When I refund I expect the recipiant to have some sence of decorum, even if they aren't pleased. I guess my expectations were too high in this case. The thing that pisses me off is I'm at 11 months on my one and only eBay neg...so it was to drop off next month...geesh.

When I "first" replied, I stated that I wasn't suggesting any wrongdoing on your part...but that I thought you made a mistake by stating that you didn't DC "because it was less than $50". Whether you did or didn't dc, i think there is some error in thinking you shouldn't DC just because it was less than $50. Again, I am not thinking you were guilty of anything, but I know that if I were the buyer, and I got what I believed to be a good deal, that I would be upset, especially if you didn't dc. I would hope that you would have been able to work it out so that everyone was happy, and it is unfortunate that wasn't the case.

That's all based on the premise that the buyer really didn't get the item. It is a likely possibility that the buyer saw no DC, and just decided to try to get free cards.
