Not me man. I don't like the Mets that much

Steve, you really would do anything for your team!

Not that there is anything wrong with that

    image >>

I'd even think about doing Rosie O'Donnell if it guaranteed the Phillies a pennant!

I think that fits the definition of "anything"? LOL

Phils only 1 game out for the wild card spot - will certaInly be quite an interesting stretch run. Give the Mets credit where credit is due, they're hanging in there for the NL East lead. Again, Phillies get the WC and I couldn't care less if the Mets win the East.
  • grote15grote15 Posts: 29,696 ✭✭✭✭✭
Who would have thought that the wildcard could have ever come out on the NL East. Two months ago, there was just NO WAY that was possible. Would love to see a NY-Philly NLCS for all the marbles!

The phillies aint dead yet...I think its a little early for the Rosie O Fat fantasies, but Im glad if it comes down to that Steve will step up
and take 1.....or should I say 275 for the team!

Can we all just admit that we would love nothing more than a game 7 NLCS Moyer v Santana game?

    Kevin

    PS...Hamels aint dead yet either!

Agreed. I'd buy that matchup if it were on Pay Per View!

I agree the WC race has tightened up

The Astros, Phillies, Brewers and even a division leader (at this time) could
end up getting in that way. What looked like a Brewers lock last month has faded.

Good luck to all the teams as we approach the last stretch.

    Edited for clarity.

    Good for you.

Who figured that GENIUS ed wade knew what he was doing when he pulled Wolf off the scrap heap?

How would we love to see a Astros-Phillies 1-game play in for the wildcard spot?!?!?!??!?!?!
  • Biggest difference between last years collapse and this year is that last year we needed Tom Cantwin, i mean Tom Glavine to win some big games down the stretch in which he couldn't, this year we have Mr. Santana to win those big games. BIG difference.

Funny how the Sillies fans crawl out from under the bed to start chripring as soon as they win a couple of games...

I'll take it anyway it comes, but the NL East would be nice. Honestly, I can't expect the Mets to do much damage unless all the starters pitch CG in the playoffs anyway! LOL!

last time you guys were in first place all alone I said hello, frankly a half game lead is to tenuous you could(should) be out of first tonite.

Looking at the game you have going on down in Florida I think you should be worrying about the pitching
and not who is or not is saying 'hello'

Goodbye first place is more like it.

It will be extremely disappointing to me when the Phillies win the NL pennant, and go on to win the World Series knowing the Mets weren't at full strength.

    "disappointing"

The Mets magic numbers are the plane ticket numbers of their mercenary players who made their 162 game season money and want to go home.

You're right - I'll limit the term "Mercenary Mets" to only another 10,000 posts, and then I won't mention it anymore. LOL

I guess the truth hurts when these bunch of mercenaries are fading in the stretch again. But the Brewers are weak so there's a chance the Mets still might hang on to a playoff spot.

That's right - and WinPitcher doesn't understand that not all free agents are mercenaries. Some free agents like a Pete Rose type, want to win championships and mercenary types don't care about winning championships.
  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Yeah and Wright and Reyes came from where Stalin?

The whole mercenary crap is just that crap.

Teams make trades and sign free agents all the time now.

Off the top of my head, Delgado, Maine and Santana came via trades, only Beltran came via free agency.

Keep talking crap Stevek every other time you did the Sillies did a nose dive.

LOL, Only your three best hitters and two best pitchers were "bought"..face it, when you pay them that much mula, they don't have to win
    anything.

Geez do you have a problem adding and reading? Where did 'we' buy 3 best hitters?

Our 3 best hitters are Wright, Reyes and Beltran, only Beltran was 'bought'

As usual you exxagerate everything you say.

Actually we have 4 Best hitters if you include Delgado and he came via a trade.

As for the Pitchers they too were accuired via trade. I assume you mean Sanatana and Perez? Maine was also via trade.

Admit it the Mets have one big free agent if you want to call it that
everyone else came up through the system or was accuired via trade.

And what do thge Yanks have to do with any of this?
