<< <i>Correct, the buyer originally said he wasnt going to pay, but did pay this morning. That's why I was "on him" to pay because he originally said he wasnt going to.

Need I post a screenshot of his paypal payment? This is kinda silly guys...

This post was started to ask if I was violating an eBay policy and that question has been answered.

Nothing more to see here. >>

The problem is, in your first post mentioning these sales in THIS thread, you said it was $80 with combined shipping. So, the same buyer bought both of them and you just failed to mention that in the OTHER thread?

You shouldnt have to lie to make friends.

Also, those items do not fit your original claim of selling a card on Sunday. It appears, and again I will stress appear, that you have gotten all worked up over the $2.85 graded card lot, and are trying to change the story a little after Steve's $2.00 comment. Not a big deal. We live and learn. I would suggest as others that you relax a little.

  • The craded lot for $2 and change has been paid for on day one.

The item in question was the Wii Remotes. I started the thread stating I sold a card so as to remain on topic (because some people had stated via PM that my other post should've been poofed for not being card related).

No lies here. And I have no need to lie. And I'm relaxed. If I really wanted to waste my time to prove every single one of you wrong, I could post all the paypal payments, and their dates. Wanna see?

I'd appreciate it if you guys would stop calling me names and saying I need medication. If you want to give your opinions about my ebay auctions, feel free, but calling me a liar and saying I need medication is pretty low..

  • Just because you asked.

    here ya go.

The lot of 9 misc cards for $2 and change was paid for right away, and the Wii remotes payment just came in this morning.

    Still a liar?

I sold a card on Sunday night and I have a three-day payment policy. So, according to "my" payment terms set forth in the auction, as of this morning, an unpaid item is late, right? Payment was due by Wednesday evening.

    Liar.
  • Again, have you even read the thread? That's already been addressed as well.

    OnlyThe10s,

I'm perplexed by your payment terms. Why the rush? Why do something that you can not enforce through ebay? ebay clearly states that payment terms are SEVEN days from close of auction. And then, if I am correct, its another EIGHT days before you can close the dispute and qualify for a FVF refund.

Out of the 1000 or so items I've sold 75 percent are paid for within the first three days. Those sending checks usually arrive within seven days. Less than two percent of my sales are completed after ten days and I've only had five or six sales that were never completed.

Why dictate to your customers? Go with the flow and be happy!

  • I prefer to pay for my Ebay purchases via USPS MO (Less problems with my wife). Because of my work schedule I can only make it to the PO on Thursday. I email sellers to let them know when I will pay them and 99% have had no problem with when and how I pay.
When I see a listing with terms like PP only or payment required in 24Hrs. / 3 Days, I move on - not bidding on the item.
So IMHO you are discouraging buyers from bidding on your auctions.

  • If a buyer has not paid in 72 hours you need to either refuse payment (you can relist the item if you want) or start charging interest. If you do not do that, you really do not have any three day policy at all so stop saying you do

Thanks Nick. Dumby already did that. And I did it a third time, just to make sure everyone sees it.

    Cool?
  • IMHO, trying to instill a 3-day payment policy (which the only reason I can assume that you use, is to get your money faster than ebay wants you to have it) is only going to turn away potential bidders or cause problems and lose future or reoccuring buyers. If ebay has a policy that an NPB cannot be reported until 7 days after the auction end, than you have absolutely no grounds to do anything about a buyer not paying after only 3 days, so why would you want to turn off potential business because of a 4 day payment window between yours and ebays?

I think you need to readjust your payment policy to the 7 days, especially with the new feedback rules. Would you rather get your money a few days later than normal but still receieve money, or lose business completely because of disatisfied customers and negative feedbacks?

Just my opinoin of course, you are free to do as you want.

Requiring payment in three days will get you less buyers. If your auctions end on the weekend just state in your description that you mail items every Wednesday. This way you are not making excessive trips to the post office. This might also get the buyers to pay quicker without requiring it. If a buyer wants to wait longer to pay then they accept that it will take longer to receive. Just an idea.

I cant count the number of times I wish the buyer would NOT pay. I have taken many a bath on some of my cards.
I give my buyers 10 days. I have had people email and ask for an extra week or 2, and thats fine by me. Im always willing to work with people when it comes to paying for cards.

My ONLY mention of payment terms in my collectible listings:

    "Your Prompt Payment Is Appreciated"

    A little further down:

"Your Prompt Payment Helps Ensure Rapid Shipment Of Your Item"

    ...............

    95%+ pay within hours.

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I use "Immediate Payment Required" in my electronics listings.
This is the ONLY way to keep the African and Baltic criminals
from killing my listings with scam purchases. These CRIMINALS
circumvent the "Block Buyers Registered In Countries To Which
I Do Not Ship" preference, by registering a U.S.A. account with
    a Euro/Afro shipping addy.

Once the listing has been killed by the scamsters, they shoot
an email saying they want to send their courier to my addy
with a check to pick-up the merch. If the item is $1000.00,
the scamster says they will send a check for $1200 and that
their courier will handle the foreign delivery, and I can keep
the extra $200. Of course, the Cashier's Check is a high-end
    counterfeit on a famous bank.

The Immediate Payment option precludes the scamarama.

A clock tower is a tower built with one or more (often four) clock faces. The clock tower is usually part of a church or municipal building such as a town hall, but many clock towers are free-standing.

People are just needling you because they want to see you implode. It's kind of a sad summary when a man derives a keen enjoyment from needling another man on the Internet, especially when the issue at hand is one in which the antagonizing party has absolutely no stake whatsoever, but there you have it.

I can see why you have that policy, but (as others have suggested) I'd consider getting rid of it. And, as Tom wisely pointed out, unless there is some repercussion associated with a late payment then you don't really have a policy at all. One thing that I frequently do with low dollar items is just ship them all out after four days or so, whether they've all been paid for or not. It's very rare that a bidder with decent feedback decides to stiff you, even if they get the item before they pay for it, and it saves you a dreaded second trip to the P.O.

It is really the smart play, and the buyers are always happy/surprised to get
their stuff so quick. So far, I don't think anybody has failed to pay me.

Exactly. Worst case scenerio is you get stiffed for $10 or so, which is about what it would cost you to make a second trip to the P.O. And like you said, I've never had a problem doing this.
  • "Why do you antagonize your buyers?"

    agreed.

if you want immediate payment, demand instant payment with PayPal.

if your accepting checks and money orders (which you SHOULD be doing) it takes 2-5 days for a check to get to you via the mail, plus you have to deposit it etc.

    whats the rush??

    p.s.

this seems like a problem you had previously? or was it another board member whose panties were all in a bunch?

OK, looks like it was you with the exact same problem...only a 24 hour policy LOL. even more hilarious.
