  • Mine came Friday, but I've been out of town since Thursday. Thanks to all of you for not stopping by my house and stealing them off my front porch. And thank god it didn't rain!
  • We want pics.....
  • Bill,

I came by your house on Friday with Art .... he tripped going up your steps, and landed on a UPS package. He did a pretty good job pushing all of the crush marks back out of it, so I'm sure your packs will be just fine. image

    Good luck on your pulls!

    Mike

PS - Speaking of needing cards .... I'm upgrading my raw '76, '77, '78 and '79 sets, so if anybody wants to sell off some of their strong NM/MT+ cards, shoot me a list of what you get, and I'll check my sets.

I can't attach my scans, there all in JPG format. Is there a way to attach them or do they have to be in HTML. I don't think I have the HTML option on my scanner. The options I have are: BMP, JPG, TIF, PNG.

recbball- are you using a hosting site for your pictures? Try using Photobucket.com and load your pix there and then download them on this site. Photobucket is free.

Thanks, I'll see if I can get the scans up by tonight.
  • Are we just opening packs as we get them, or are we going to try and set up a certain time/night?
I am new to this so just wondering how long I have to stare at unopened packs or if I even can do it.
Thanks and I will be posting scans no matter which way we go.

I won't be able to wait. Out here in the Pacific Northwest I'm sure I'll be last to get my packs. I will immediately rip one of each year and save my other lot for display. I will post scans and a list of all as soon as I can. Can't wait to see everyone's rip. This is better than betting on the Seahawks!

  • I think it was tried where there would ba a back opened every week, but that was part of the Gary story and part of his scam to take longer for the game to be up.

I am just opening them all when I get em.
  • Latest from Steve.

    Chris,
All seems to be going well here on this end. All have been shipped and 2
more are going out today with the payments that came over the weekend. I am
down to only needing 2 payments. They are:

    mknez
    mrmagoo

    Thanks! Steve

  • Still waiting on my grades, but BBCE came thru with quick shipping. My packs arrived today and I'll open a couple before I have to run out. Scans will follow later today.

1st pack- Opened the 1977 pack because of what looked like a dinged lower right corner. The corners were fine on the cards.

#360 Walter Payton- lite wax stain
    #72 Curtis Johnson
    #352 Bob Matheson
    #45 Roger Staubach- 60-40(?) side
#390 Jim Langer- gum, actually 2 pieces of gum.
Centering wasn't perfect and actually the centering on the Payton was the best.

  • Bounced to the 1984 pack- nothing special, mostly AFC cards. The centering in this pack was much better. The 2 noteworthy cards-#166 Insant Replay Franco Harris & #239 Instant Replay Tony Dorsett. Still no Packers, but lots of Dolphins, Browns & Chargers.

    Next up 1983s
  • 1983 pack- Mel Blount was the gum card, but the gum was broken inside the pack and no damage to the Blount card. HOFer John Hannah also in this pack, but a bit o/c side. 50/50 centering on many of the commons, a couple more Dolphins and finall a Packer (Mark Lee) The sticker is Chris Collingsworth.
Going to open 1 more, then begin to start the scanning.
    1986s get ripped next.
  • Okay, the 1986 pack has been ripped and the pack contained a couple of big 49ers. Ronnie Lott was the gum card and Montana was the 2nd- decent centering and corners. No rookies, but I did get a Fouts and a Marcus Allen. The 1,000 yard club card (middle of the pack) was stuck to a Lionel James record-breaker. Centering was 50/50 on about half the cards in the pack.

So far, with 4 packs opened- we had 2 HOF gum cards. A few HOF QBs/ 8 HOFers overall and only 1 Packer.

I'll get scans up at some point tonight.

  • Here's the 1st scan. From the 1977 pack- Roger Staubch. From the 1984 pack- Instant Replay cards of Tony Dorsett and Franco Harris. From the 1983 pack- Mel Blount.

    image
  • Here's the scans from the 1986 pack and a Montana sticker from 1984?

    image
  • The line in the Montana sticker isn't on the card. This scan is cards with HOFers. Marino, Randy White, Payton brothers card and Largent.

Opening the 1978 pack, doesn't look like much half way thru....

    image
  • The 1978 pack was hit and miss with the centering. The 2 HOFers in the pack are off-center sides.

    image

I'm holding off on ripping the 1976 pack for a few days.

Great stuff guys, I wish I had gotten in on it!
  • I am interested in any 81's that look like they can be graded.
I am currently #2 on the 81 football registry at almost 74%.
We can trade or I can buy- Just keep me in mind, so that I can overtake MOSH!!
Still waiting on my package, but keep the scans coming guys - I love them.
  • Mine didn't arrive todayimage

  • Not much here, all commons until the 1985 where I hit a Marino and Dent and then Bruce Smith in the 1986. Will send those 3 off to PSA and wait 2 months fro the results!

osc....you're kidding right???? largent AND rice... that largent looks very nice.

recbb, how does that 77 foreman look in person? for some reason, i always liked those 1,000 yard cards in the 77 set.

keep the scans coming....this is great.

    Thanks,

    David (LD_Ferg)

  • David,

The Rice RC is way off center BUT the Largent RC should be a 9 minimum .... fingers crossed. Sweet card!

    Thanks
