I have the pleasure of owning a 1999-W Gold American Eagle $5 MS69 error coin. This is one of the mint state Gold Eagles struck with an unfinished Proof die (only the Proof is supposed to have had the "W" mint mark). I find it interesting that these, along with the $10 errors attract such little attention. All told, there were only 2-3 thousand total of these error GAE(estimated) that made their way out of the mint. With the low mintages, I believe these will prove to be much rarer than the1995-W 10th Anniversary (with its mintage of 30,125!)
What does everyone else think of these?

I haven't really gone through my CoinManage records for this info before, so this was interesting for me. Apparently, "low mintage" means different numbers for different series. Here are my current headliners:
1884 1c Indian (PR65RB): 3,942
1935 Connecticut (MS64): 25,018
1901 $5 Coronet (AU58): 616,000
1937-D 50c Walking Liberty (MS65): 1,676,000
None of these are by any means the lowest for their type.
One each of Mexico 1922 2 centavos and 1931 5 centavos, mintage unknown. There are no records confirming issue of these dates, but the coins in fact do exist. Estimated (in 1976) existing pieces: 200 of the two centavos and 100 of the five.
At one time it was a proof seated dime with a mintage of around 30. I don't like to use mintage figures since it's survival rates and % extant that truly matters.
I got a 1912 Proof-66 Cameo Liberty Nickel - mintage 2,145 which I got from Legend. I got it because it's the same condition as their 1913 ( the one they used to own ) but it cost many millions less. But then it's ( 2,145 + 26,234,569 ) vs 5 - guess there would be some difference in price.
US Proof: 1877 shield nickel mintage 510 US Business Strike: 1880 shield nickel mintage 19,955 (I have three of these) Darkside business strike: 1915 Oaxaca 1 centavo rectangular Revolutionary Mexican (mintage 500)
This doesn't count variety coins, of which I have multiple that are unique.

My proof is an 1863 half with 460 minted.
I also have a 1938-S Texas commem with a mintage of 3,814.
If you can divide the mintage by the number of duplicate coins you have though, it would be my 20th anniversary ASEs. I have three, making it 83,333.
