Hey Thanks arny I new you were good for it I droped yours in the post office this morn Didnt want you to miss out >>
Hope you all do better than I did on the 77s. I was disappointed in the condition. If you can see the Gorman Thomas card (his right shoulder and sky behind), it has water spots on the card. All the cards were warped like they had been wet at one time. The gum was on the back of the Thomas card which resulted in some paper loss. The seal wax is on the front of the Bill Singer card.

Thats a bummer about the condition. What about the Tony Perez? Besides it being OC any other problems?

The Perez was in the middle of the pack. Nice and shiney. Clean and good colored back. A small bubble just above the r in perez. My loupe does not show any defects. But if you angle it just right towards a light, it just seems there a tiny dried water spots. But then I could just be parinoid.

It's a printing issue with the 77's and not water damage. I have PSA 9's that have that issue. Also the Gorman Thomas probably has that mark because of the gum being stuck on the back. The gum plus 30 years of aging will make weird things bleed through like that.
Mine arrived today in Chicago, I don't know if I can wait, I might just have to open a few before watching my beloved Ramblers get stomped by Butler tonight in hoops.

Here's mine, nothing special. I was in a rush and forgot to add a background with color...next time. Top 2 cards came with nicks on the side, you can see from the Jose Cardenal card. The gum was turning brown and the bottom card look like it might have been wet at some point.
I'm not complaining just letting eveyone know the condition of the pack. I'm just happy that I'm finally doing a group rip...
The people that are doing 1977's, can you scan the backs too? I want to get this set someday and I love the clever billboard design they did that year, which is my favorite back design from the 1970s.
<< <i>It would have been nice if we had waited until everyone got their packs. >>
That'd be like sending someone a "Do not open till Christmas" present in the mail a month in advance and actually expecting the recipient to actually wait; not gonna happen. I wonder if I should get myself a wax pack each of 1977-80 Topps to go with my sets (well, I still need the 1977 set)?
I thought that everyone did have their packs. I ripped mine this morning. I pulled a really nice Yaz and a decent Red Sox team card...if only they were Pirate cards. I certainly can't complain.

My wife would've loved to have pulled those; she's a HUGE Red Sox fan. Uou don't suppose the fact she's from Boston might have something to do with that, do you?

Have you thought about the rip sequence?
Will we use the same thread for scans?

The '77, '78 and '79 packs were nice. I don't have the first unopened pack... but I seriously thought about keeping those sealed.
Great job, Gary.

Tomorrow's the big day!
It's 1/26 on the right coast so I thought I'd start off the festivities.
Nothing great, but a few well centered cards which can be tough on the 77's. The gum tasted terrible!
