    Yup, Kevin, I think you are most correct. This morning my car took me to Target on the way to work and 2 blasters had nothing and very few SPs to boot. Must stop buying blasters....must stop buying blasters...... hey, is that a blaster?

    Kevin - I think you're completely right. The last few blasters I've done were pretty much tapped out. Lots of inserts (FBs & TNs primarily). I'm done w/ those. I've actually driven past our local Wally Worlds & Targets lately without having to white knuckle the steering wheel.

    I just noticed something on my Morgan Red Autograph. I compared it to my 1958 original Mogan card from my set just to see if they did the write up on te back the same, and on the auto card there is an error in the hits column. The original shows 88 hits for the year, and the 2007 Heritage red autograph shows 58 hits for the year. I wonder if this was corrected, or if they all went out wrong. Interesting.....take a look.

    OH man, there is nothing like a Saturday morning heritage run at target. Luckly there was some fresh stock. I went against
    my own advise and bought three blasters and some loose packs. After visiting the pillow department, I bought them and
    pulled my first seat card from the 9 loose packs. The blasters were disappointing..but I did get one refractor and two chromes
    AND.....Mantle 31....the last card I needed in the set!!!!!

    Im offering 2 dollar SP's for this weekend only if anyone is interested. Paypal only thanks. Send me your lists and Ill try to get them
    filled
    Thanks

    Got a couple of blasters at Enfield, Ct. target Saturday, and a few loose packs. Didnt get much out of them . But I saw something that suprised me. A hobby box of 2006 heritage, $63.00. Why would target have hobby stuff?

    Sorry if this was explained already, but is thick font Swisher yellow team or regular SP? Thanks
  • I just ripped my first hobby box of 2007 Heritage (couldn't wait until next week!) - which was quite interesting....1. There was no felt emblem in the box (double checked to ensure it was a hobby box). 2. Quite a few of the pack wrappers were not sealed properly - leaving them open on 1-side. 3. A number of the cards seem to have "spotting" issues (especially the blues and reds). I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this...or if this is to be expected from this year's release. I inserted an example of the "spotting" below. Thanks again for the help!
  • The Papelbon card has a high percentage of spotted cards in everything I pulled from Hobby Boxes. The ones I got from Blaster boxes were a lot better.
    You will find a lot of o/c cards too. I think I posted a list on pg [correction middle of page 49] of this thread.

    According to Beckett, the small print Swisher 58 is the SP and the large print Swisher 58 is the yellow team name. I couldn't tell from the placement in my packs. It could have gone either way.

    I have 2 of the one on the right, so I need the one on the left.

    Am I correct in assuming that there is no such card as a Swisher with WHITE print?

    also, Just updated my Word doc below of my needs/extras. I think I neglected to update it the past couple of days. Hit refresh once you open it!

    Does anyone know how to go about contacting Topps (and/or Beckett) about the erro on my 2007 Heritage Bobby Morgan red autograph? The original 1958 card of Morgan shows 88 hits for the year, and the 2007 Heritage red autograph shows 58 hits for the year.

    I just finished my full trade spreadsheet. It has base cards, SPs, all of the inserts, chromes, refractors, black refractors, autos, felts, etc. I cracked 5 cases and I am looking to put together as many sets as I can. The spreadsheet is too big to upload so I need to email it to anyone interested. I would love to trade with someone who has a similar group of base cards who is looking to complete sets. I am willing to trade any of my cards for base cards so long as there is equal value.

    nam812......that might be the catch of the century and one that topps was banking on no one would catch! I bet they did that on
    purpose to go along with the 58 theme. I wish I had some real cards to compare the backs of mine to.

  • Ok, couldnt resist the blasters on todays target run... but I'm glad I didnt! Nothing too special in the boxes (got 2), pulled a fairly normal 8 Sp, 2 FB, 2 Var, 1 TN, 1 NAP, 3 MHR, 1 Arod and 2 Chromes ~ but its what those cards mean to my set thats special! Of those 8 Short Prints I needed 6 and thats amazing to me since I only needed 20 total before I bought the boxes. Also, one of the Chromes was Victor Martinez (which looks great in my Indians books!) Oh, and lastly... 2 one of a kind cards!!! ~ kinda…

    Check um out:

    image

    Well, they are one of a kind pack pulls... Nice Quality Control Topps : If I was desperately trying to put a set together and needed these cards I would be quite upset at these horrible creases ~ but I've bout about a case worth of cards and have probably 10 of each already so i guess its not worth complaining.

    So, updated list time:

    ***********
    Needed:
    (only 13 cards total left to fill out my set!!! If you can help with them contact me and I’ll overpay in return to finish it off ~ I really want to complete it so I dont have a reason to buy any more blasters image )
    ***********
    SPs:

    58 Nick Swisher
    121 Jay Payton
    186 Scott Shields
    221 Josh Fields
    257 Arron Cook
    293 Ryan Garko (need 2 ~ one for my Indians books as well)
    294 Miguel Batista
    392 Shane Youman
    420 Norris Hopper
    465 Pedro Martinez
    482 Edgar Renteria AS

    Mantle:
    7, 39

    ~~~ Yellow Team Name ~~~ Nothing image
    ~~~ New Age Performers ~~~ Nothing image
    ~~~ Then & Now: ~~~ Nothing image
    ~~~ Flash Backs: ~~~ Nothing image
    ~~~ Yellow Player Name: ~~~ Nothing image
    Also any Indians Chrome, Refractors, Blacks, Relics and Autos! I know about these:
    THC47 Peralta ~ (need Refractor and Black Ref ~ I have the Chrome OTW )
    THC69 Martinez ~ (need Refractor and Black Ref ~ have the Chrome)
    CC-VM Victor Martinez Relic
    … But there could be more as I don’t have a total checklist of the Cho/Auto/Relics. It’s probably easier to just say “if you have an Indians special card please contact me!”
    I’m also interested in past years Relics, Chromes, Autos etc…
    (Contact me on these and we can work something out I imagine. I have 19Cho, 5Ref, 5Rel and money to complete a deal if needed)
    I forgot to tell you guys this story. Over the weekend I went to Toys R Us with the wife to buy some backyard stuf for the baby, and they were offering 15% off all day if you were approved for their credit card. Also, they were giving a $5 gift card for every $25 spent on MLB products. (you all see where this is headed right?)
    I went to the register with 8 blasters, made the wife apply for a card (i had done it already) Paid for the first 6 blasters 2 at a time getting 15% off the price and a $5 gift card each time, and used the $15 worth of gift cards on the last 2 blasters (couldnt use the 15% and the gift cards on the same purchase).
    To sum up, 8 blasters = $160.00 but for me they were only $127.00. Almost like buying 6 and getting 2 free. imageimageimage
    Oh yeah, and we saved 15% on all the backyard stuff for the baby too.
    Thought you guys would appreciate that story.
  • Well, I have to say the topps heritage cards have definitely gotten me back into baseball cards again. Now, with the my 2006 & 2007 sets nearing completion, I will have to start working on the 2001-2005 sets. I also think I may try to slowly put together an original 1958 set, that should be a good long term project for me. Since I decided this today I managed to pick up my first cards for that set off ebay tonight and I thought I would share the pics (these are the ebay pics, cards hould be here in a week or so)
