I should probably quit while I'm ahead. After busting the equivalent of only 7 hobby boxes (5 hobby and 6 blasters), I've pulled 6 CC relics (Zito, Santana, M. Ramirez, V. Martinez, M. Cabrera & Berra) and two autos. I showed the blue Kell earlier in the thread (from Hobby box #1), and the red beauty below came out of my 5th blaster box:
I still think, as in past years, that there's a regional component to card (especially SP & variation) frequency. For example, I've pulled 30 Yellows, but 16 of them have been dupes (including 3 Clemens and 4 Riveras!). I've decided not to complete the chrome set this year, so I'll be posting my trade list soon: all of my dupes (23 SPs, 16 yellows, 12 inserts), chromes (20 including 4 refractors), Mantles (27, incl. 21 different), Arods (8 different) and felt box toppers (5 different) will be up for grabs.
There's a guy on EBay trying to sell 4 blank cards. He says they are error cards: No. 145, which does not exist. I got two blanks when I ripped two cases. I was thinking of sending them back to Topps? Anybody else get blanks?
I finally got around to creating a tradelist for my baseball cards (see link in my sig)! I'm mostly looking to trade for cards I need for my 2006 Topps Heritage set or the other cards in my wantlist, but still, PM me if you need something from my list. I haven't had the time to look at all the wantlists that have been posted yet...

Well the retail run resulted in 45 packs, no blasters. The packs left a lot to be desired only 2 refractors and not much else. Topps really need to work on their quality control, I had one blank card, one pack that only had four cards, and about 6 cards that looked like they had been bent in half (but the cards on either side of the bent one were fine). Oh well, still have 9 more hobby boxes to go.
Ive started a 2007 heritage museum on the 1st page of this post so we can see all the great hits. If you have anymore that I missed send me the link and Ill add it. When Geordie is done with his GU set Ill post that. If anyone wants me to take down their scan off the front page, no prob just PM me. Would it be too much to change this forum to
8 boxes in now, and pulled ink, nothing great its a Stan Palys Blue Ink, also pulled out an omar vizquel bat. The rest of the boxes have all been pretty standard with just about the same number of inserts.

I have just opened 1 hobby case. I had no ink; however, the collation was very good. My Heritage needs and extras are below. I also have thousands of extra Heritage cards from prior years.
(1) Cards I need:
YTN: 58, 79
SPs: 4, 195, 428
Mantle: 1, 9, 12, 16, 21, 35
NP: 11, 13
Chrome: All Star cards other then David Wright and Ichiro.
Refractors: All Star cards other then David Wright
Has anyone determined if the ARod subset belongs in a master set? I had decided most definitely not, but last night I noticed on one of the checklist cards that it is listed. This made me think, if it's on a CL, maybe it does???
I just wanted to share some of my pulls/trades so far. I have dupes of the Ashburn Seat Relic if anyone would like to trade.

I think if it is on the checklist then it should be included. Down the road....you will see all sorts of different "Master Sets"..some will include AROD cards, Felt Set, Chrome Set, etc.
Perry - I think we're all considering the Yellow Letters and Yellow Team Names as additional SPs. They're seeded as such. The cards that have a "yellow" variation and are listed on the SP list (#13 Ledesma, #23 Kotsay, #50 Buehrle, #58 Swisher, #76 Hamels, #77 Furcal, #85 Vizquel) seem to pull at about the same rate, so I'd say that there isn't one card that is scarcer than the other.
<< <i>I think if it is on the checklist then it should be included. Down the road....you will see all sorts of different "Master Sets"..some will include AROD cards, Felt Set, Chrome Set, etc. >>
I think the reason that the ARods shouldn't be included is because they are simply a continuation of ARod cards inserted in other products, for instance Topps Series 1. They don't have the Heritage logo, and they are not a complete numbered set available only in Heritage packs, i.e. the Mantle 42-card set.
Even though the HR #'s 50-75 are exclusive to heritage and are on the checklist cards as such....just like the Mantle 42 HR series? I agree that they don't go with the heritage look, and I am disappointed every time I open a pack and see the white card stock at a profile, but I just haven't made my mind up or not whether they will go in my binder or not. Not a rant (well sort of), I just wanted other opinions.
The A-Rod cards are no more than a marketing tool, to get card buyers to purchase other sets. Topps is hoping for a cross-over effect.
These have no purpose in the Heritage set. There is no connection to 1958, but they provide Topps with an additional number of special cards to include in each pack. That way they can increase production. That's what it comes down to.

I don't think my AROD cards will go in the binder. I still need a handful of them, but if I do decide to complete the set I will keep them to the seperate. They have no business in this set.
BTW: I just bindered my set up last night and DAMN it looks awesome. I my favorite cards are the Chien Ming Wang and Aaron Rowand cards. The colors on the Wang card just pop of the orange background and the black background of the Rowand card just looks awesome. I wish there were some more black background cards and less yellow. The AS cards look much better all together than they do individually as well.
When I was opening the packs , I noticed the Austin Kearn card was a drawing rather then photo. Does anybody know of any other cards that used drawings rather then photos?

Packman, I did get redemption cards for BOWMAN Heritage, not Topps Heritage. Are you sure it's the Topps product?
I have not been able to find any retail in the stores around me for several days. Hopefully I can track some down this weekend.

No way should they be considered part of the set for reasons already stated. I may collect the Mantles to try an put a set together, but as far as I am concerned, they are just filler material. Same with the ARod set, filler material. They are nicely cut and look ok, but I am sick of these HR subsets Topps is producing. Let's see, we have Bonds, two different Mantle sets, ARod, J Gibson, and what else? Who cares.

I got all the basic subsets from previous sets complete.
And, I was only short 2 Mantles - #22 and 39. Not bad.
I had one dup Arod - #62. So if I want to do the set? I have 11 of 25 - did I do the math right?
Quality looks OK - overall.
Now the fun work begins.

They don't have the Heritage logo, and they are not a complete numbered set available only in Heritage packs, i.e. the Mantle 42-card set.

These have no purpose in the Heritage set. There is no connection to 1958, but they provide Topps with an additional number of special cards to include in each pack. That way they can increase production. That's what it comes down to.
<< <i>Even though the HR #'s 50-75 are exclusive to heritage and are on the checklist cards as such....just like the Mantle 42 HR series? I agree that they don't go with the heritage look, and I am disappointed every time I open a pack and see the white card stock at a profile, but I just haven't made my mind up or not whether they will go in my binder or not. Not a rant (well sort of), I just wanted other opinions. >>

Funny, no relics and one ink in 3 retail boxes <-- sux. One ink in a blaster <-- SUPER!

<< <i>When I was opening the packs , I noticed the Austin Kearn card was a drawing rather then photo. Does anybody know of any other cards that used drawings rather then photos? >>
Packman, I did get redemption cards for BOWMAN Heritage, not Topps Heritage. Are you sure it's the Topps product?

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. Who cares.
