bunker is that beltran for trade???
  • With all the great pulls, it seems this is a very good year, a lot better than last year.

As much as I liked the 1957 Topps set, I feel the 2006 Topps Heritage was disappointing, not only artistically, but financially.

I purchased just as many boxes last year as this year, but didn't have nearly the success panning for gold that I had this year. Across the board, it seems as if everyone is doing much better, plus the collation is much better this year. By putting much extras on EBay, it just about paid for my master set.

  • Well, I should have had my trade list put together today, but UPS brought me a case of 2006 heritage. Not much in it, I should have bought more 2007 instead. Oh well, maybe I'll get the trade list together this weekend.

With all the great pulls, it seems this is a very good year, a lot better than last year.

With the odds they stated for autos.. it does seem like all of us are doing better with auto pulls.. i got 1 from a blaster box. which i was floored after buying a case and got zero auto's.

but for me i like last year better bc of the background. you see stadiums and action shots. this year seems to much face cards and color to me. i am like 25 sp's short of 2 master sets for last year. this year i just unloaded on ebay.

ps.. this is just my opionion..

I have 4 chrome left if anyone needs them #'s are 9 4 103 95. let me no if there on your list. im looking for mets sp's or chrome mets in trade.
  • OK guys, thanks for the opinions. Here's another question.....has anyone determined why there are no Braves, Indians, or Tigers felt patches?? Did something run afoul with the licensing of those teams?
  • softparadesoftparade Posts: 9,276 ✭✭✭✭✭
    Guys,

I busted all retail .... no felts for me. I pulled one blue auto (SLeater) and one black refractor. I am happy with this year as I pulled nearly 90% of all SP's and variations from two cases. For the first time in my three year Heritage career I feel I have plenty left to trade to get me where I want to be.

QUESTION --- Is anybody here trying the refractor set?

Somebody here has to have the NAP11 that I need!

    Dan

I don't know if you're aware but the guy's ebay ad is deceptive - he's selling blasters that retail for 20 bucks.

    image

    I would say - he'll deliver.

My fault, I actually considered that. Darn it. I have all the blasters I want in San Antonio for $21.60 each. And I just paid $23 and get to wait for 7-10 days. I guess it could of been worse. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Me too on that one Dan!

    I'm 1/3 finished with sorting.

Right now they're in stacks ordered by the terminal digit.

Next up - ordering the middle digit. That's a lot of cards!

  • I'm sure it'll seem like I have way too much time on my hands, and it's probably been noticed already by someone with a much younger and sharper set of eyes that mine, but the NAP 15 Biggio card has Astros misspelled on the back. Yeah, that's my Friday night fun...

Can I say now about how jealous I am of all you folks pulling ink? Especially after the initial thought was it would be very, very difficult. 4 Hobby boxes, 7 blasters and a Retail box. Nada. Not even a sniff at blacks either. Oh well, glad I like the regular set.

Not that I'm a Yankees or Red Sox fan, but the Zimmer auto is really cool. Maybe I'll pick one up some day.

Bunker, I too have a bunch of SP's, chromes, etc from 2006 Heritage. I prefer to trade chrome for chrome,SP for SP,etc. Because I enjoy helping others build sets,I will gladly give you a card you do not have, even if I only have one,as long as you give me something I need. I won't come out ahead, but you do. I have probably 100+ chromes, refractors with many dups. Just let me know what you need ...John

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Why do think Topps did not include Barry Bonds in this years set? He is pictured on the team card but not listed as a player. Last year his cards from this set did very well.

  • Well I got a little tired of collating so I went in town looking for some blasters, found ten at Target, hopefully I'll get a few of the cards I'm missing. You guys have been having such good luck with the blasters I just had to try a few.

Is there anyone here that can tell me why there is a difference in price between retail and hobby? Are the odds for inserts better in hobby?

I just finished collating and haven't checked the spreadsheet.

    I'm impressed that I bought a case - a total of like 2300 cards...

and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be missing a few numbers - some I have already seen only one card!

7th year and nothing every surprises me - regional distribution, hobby vs. retail, box vs. blaster - what a challenge!!!
