I wish I could find a 1910-P just like it. Well, there are plenty of dates I still need, but I'd like to find a nice 10-P. One of my favorite dates.

1 last post before I hit the sack. I think the 10 is so underrated! How many do you see offered compared to the 13,14,+15's????

Great pick up. I kept going back to that to see how long it would take to sell.

I was the same as you. When I saw it in hand I had to have it! I took those pictures. If anything the toning is just a touch lighter and it has that warm welcoming glow! I thought it was quite the bargain!

    Darrell,

Tell us more, where did you find it ( sounds like it was either eBay
or a coin show where you and Dennis [Dogwood] had both been to ).

Looks very lustrous from the image. For once in my life, I can say it's
too nice for the set I am working on.

In answer to your question about posting larger than 50kb images,
I use Photobucket. For years I prevailed upon my friend, Dave99B,
to resize my pics so I could post them. I know he must have been
extremely happy when I joined Photobucket. ( It's free initially, but
if you store too much a month, they may make you join, [ which I
just did ] , for all of $2.00 a month. Well worth it.

Ok, now, my friend, get your PM turned on !!!!

I'm surprised Dennis figured it out. Maybe he's got it confused with another? Lips are sealed LOL! image

I've figured out how to resize now...probably won't do the image hosting since I won't need it for ebay. I can use my IP to host if I wanted to take the time to learn how!

I'll see if I can get the PM thinggie working,LOL
  • MFHMFH Posts: 11,720 ✭✭✭✭

    Darrell,

Glad you have a PM address now.

I have to pry the info out of Dennis ? Ok.

Walt Kennedy called me the day before yesterday,
he's hosting the BCCS Booth at the Charlotte Show
this weekend. He also sent me some images which
would make a grown man cry if you're looking for
the perfect XF 40 & XF 45. He's using them as trading
tools, and I wish him well. They are both great coins.
Ask him what they are, I am sure he'd be thrilled to
    email you the images.

Have a good time - all who are venturing to Charlotte.
As much as I love Naples, Florida, it ain't exactly close
to anything. Even Orlando is 4 hours away.

BTW, for all the other Floridians, the Collectorama Show
in Lakeland is this upcoming weekend. Coinkid855 mentioned
that he'd be going. I am sure Walkerguy21D will be there.
    Anyone else ??

Apparently 10's aren't much of a secret...one (or more) of you made me pay "too much" for a CAC 30 last year from Heritage. If anybody sees a nice 04-S (20-30) in Charlotte that isn't priced in lunar currency, let me know.

Mike,I'm going to have to look at his ugly face all weekend since he is set up across from my table. LOL Yeah...Walt's been trying to milk me with those coins for awhile. He wants my 04-S so bad I finally had to price him out of interest so he would leave me alone...well I just found out it didn't work...LOL....he's still bugging me about it! image

I love the West Coast of Fl. My wife and I had a great time there a few years ago. We found a steal of a rental on Marco Island across from Residence Beach. Dropped our inv. off with a dealer friend in Orlando and stayed on Marco Island the 5 weeks before the FUN show. It was actually cheaper than staying at home since we just shut our house down!

Give Arnie a call....He's hungry! image
  • shorecollshorecoll Posts: 5,445 ✭✭✭✭✭
I haven't tried Arnie as I prefer to negotiate up from reasonable, not down from ridiculous, and with some of the weird stuff he has on eBay, I'd only buy in person. image
    ANA-LM, NBS, EAC
  • Arnie isn't giving inventory away for sure, but he always has a lot to look at and some very hard to find material.
  • MFHMFH Posts: 11,720 ✭✭✭✭
I have enjoyed working with Arnie. He does have access to some really nice coins but
he pays thru the nose for them. That's why he's a touch high ... If you're buying at a
retail level, it's impossible to sell at a few points over wholesale. We know sooner or
later we're gonna have to pay the piper, better now than next year when today's high
    prices are tomorrow's bargains.

Darrell: Walt is like a Bull Dog, he is tenacious !! Don't show him your 93-S you've
hidden, ( even though he recently bought a nice 53 ) , as he wants more bargaining
tools for future trades. I am still looking for a nice 35-45 "with that look" of a circulated
    cameo.

Joe, now that you're snowed in, how about posting some of your coins... You've gotten
really good at imaging... Start showing off your newly acquired skills !!

Newbarberguy... Nice coins !!! Don't be shy... Show us more !!!

See, I told you I hated to grade by images alone.
Ya got me ! I like that 01-S quite a bit, but I certainly
    don't need another XF ... I have 3 XF's and a VF 35.

Edited to say, if I needed an XF - I would buy that one
of Darrell's in a heartbeat ! He's not allowed to say anything
is for sale on these Forums, but I can say if it's not my coin.
Someone who's looking for one should look no further but
be forewarned, the coin is under graded in it's current holder
VF 35 is a joke. Sorry.

I will be at Baltimore in March.

Fate works in mysterous ways... one door closes and another opens.

As most of you have heard, [ thru the Grapevine ] that Ponyexpress8 / Glenn has had an
opportunity to join forces with Larry Shapiro Rare Coins. My assisting Glenn for the last 17
months has been an education and a wonderful experience for me. I sincerely appreciated
the time Glenn has spent with me and he has been a great Role-Model as well. I - as well as
many others - have nothing but the best of wishes for his future success.

A thoughtful and generous hand has been offered me by Darrell Kreis , and I will be joining
both he and Arnie Heller in Baltimore. Although this is my first time selling my own material,
you have seen the amount of Barber Halves I have been posting. Most have been for my
personal collection , but obviously, I have more duplicates than I could possibly need.

I don't have a table number as yet, but I can safely say that our table could be called BARBER - CENTRAL
    Hope to see you there.
