The 92-S in 58 is stunning. As is the AU 55 1910-S, and, I can see the need of those Fine 12 & 15 - 1898-S, 1901-S and the 1904-O. Those three are solid looking coins and who couldn't love a set in Fine 12- 15 ?
I am still mesmerized by that 1901-S Quarter in 68+ I have not gone to DLRC's site to even see if it's for sale.
Although, last week, I did venture onto their site and snapped up a really nice 1911-S Half in 35. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Picked up a couple of nice duplicates on the BST. Seller's Images:
1902-P - PCGS 25
1912-D - ANACS 35
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
My proudest purchase as of late was a 05-O in 20. FINALLY! I have everything circ in 20 or better! I was so tired of looking for the 05-O that I bought a 63 at the last Baltimore show!
<< <i>I got the G-4 for my album, don't have it in me to crack out a higher graded key.....think this would crossover?
Ken >>
PCGS is very tough on that date. Cary has seen 1 I have we both thought would be a 40+...PCGS 35'd it. I think you will get a 35....but it is worth a shot! LOL...Cary also made me pay moon money for the coin!
Ken....I looked through a dealers new submissions yesterday.....Has lots of VG10's. What dates do you need now???? There was a 93-S but there is no way I see it as a 10.....it's an 8! on both sides.
That's at least an XF 40 and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't upgrade it to a 45. Yes, I said upgrade. Very nice coin. Congratulations. >>
Next time I have mine out of the bank I will try to take a picture of it....If Ken's is a 40-45 Mine's a 50-53...other than being nicely toned and not displaying luster....I am still shocked PCGS 35'd it...but it seems I either get 35's or 45+...don't know why they don't want to give me 40's....I've got about a dozen 35's now that are better than over 1/2 the 40's I have!
I know exactly how you feel. What is market acceptable these days for VF & XF is completely different than it was back in the 1960's when I started my 1st set of Barber Halves.
I think Ken's coin should have absolutely no problem crossing to an XF 40 - and based on what I have seen lately in XF 45 holders, his coin could easily grade that too. Normally, I would never have said that PCGS would upgrade an NGC coin, but I learned first had this week that they will.
Next time we meet, I hope to have the opportunity of getting an up close look at your personal "stash" of Barber Halves.
Oh, and Darrell, please get your PM turned on. This message should not have been in a general thread. But - what the heck - it wasn't too personal.

Despite the slight differences, both Ken's and Darrell's 02-S examples posted here are XF40s. Ken's may be a 40.0, Darrell's may be a 42.0. Ken's should cross at 40, Darrell got hosed if they called his coin a 35.

You oughtta see the 1 in my collection! It's a solid 1/2 point better than this 1!
I also agree Ken's coin should cross. I think PCGS will cross many NGC's but, by experience, NGC lets more stuff slide than our hosts do, and I think it's a good thing PCGS is a bit tougher. I really, really wish I had found this board before buying a bunch of NGC commems years ago.
We will see what the others think before I confess!
How do you guys get your pictures to post opened up???? It's a major pain in the arse to get my pics down to under 50KB....they look so much better in full size!

Want a house in Naples Florida on
a golf course and a pool with a BMW
Convertible in the garage in trade ?
Thanks for sharing that coin. I think
Labelman87 needs it for his date set.

I can see where it may slide into a 40 holder, but I
like it for a VF 35.

Compare the meat on that coin to Ken's...the obverse is far better struck and the reverse is par...the 1 in my collection blows that coin away!
