Tom - That's a sweet little 01-O dime. Great contrast between the fields/devices. Send it to me, and I'll lick it for you (to remove the fuzz). No charge.

Mike - Sweet 93-S. I feel a long run of your AU halves coming on......something radical has to happen to get us to 1,000

Dave99B, I am sorry to say that I do not have all the images of my AU/MS set of halves. I'm pretty sure that I do have most dates of my mid range set imaged though.

Again, to keep this thread moving, the next date in my collection:

    1894-O :

I thought I'd post the image of an 1894-S dime but you would laugh at my feeble attempt of trying to pull the wool over your eyes !!! LOL

Boy Mike, if we could just add a little more detail to that 94-O, we would be talking. It's almost like wishing for a board extender/stretcher when you cut a piece of lumber to short.

I have my eyes on a 94-O and a 97-S. Should know the results in a couple of days. The 97-S has about the same level of obverse detail as my PXGS XF40 but the reverse is definetely stronger. Maybe I submit both together I will get that coveted XF45 grade.

I haven't submitted my 05-P yet as I am waiting for a few more raw coins to even out an 8-piece submission.

I'm at 7,600 words out of a needed 9-12,000 on my thesis. I'm getting there.

Craig: I mentioned the XF 40 - 1894-O before and said there was not a snowball's chance in L
that it would XF 45 at PCGS. Its just a nice XF 40.

    Pushing thread along...

I've won a 97-S and a 94-O. When I get them in, off to PCGS they go with the 05-P I have. Fingers crossed, but here's hoping I have a complete XF45 set within a month.

I'll be sure to get the coins Tru-Viewed for everyone's pleasure.

You have the right idea-- just click the lil' picture icon next to the HTTP button instead next time and copy and paste your URL into that.

I left off with the 1899 on my last post and there have been some very nice coins posted since.

Brandon, I was tracking that 1901-S, I think you picked up a super looking coin !!

Also, AZLARRY, that's a great looking 1901 Dime.

Well, here's my 1900-P Half from my primary set:

    image
    image

Here's one from my secondary set:
    image

Out of sequence, but here's the latest addition to my primary set, something
that I have been searching for quite a long time; most of these I have seen
offered have been in MS, and this is the first AU 58 I have seen available:

To play catch - up with the date progression,
    here's a few 1901's:

    image
    image
The above coin is now in a PCGS 64 holder. For the life of me, I thought it'd go MS 65 @ PCGS !!!

Lets keep this Thread moving...would like to see 1,000 posts. I sure know that Dan would like to see this too as well as most of the Barber collectors on this Forum.

If only Redshoulder would start posting, I know you'd be pleased with his Barber halves
as I have been. He just added a really nice 1897-S in PCGS AU 55 and I'd love to post it for
him, but I don't want to steal his thunder. Come on Dave, show us your collection. [ There
isn't one image attached to his Registry Set either !!] image

I'm still shaking my head that I located the 1892 TDR; I own an 1892 DDR quarter and a 1892-O DDO quarter but the TDR has eluded me in AU. Glad that I finally located it.

On to the date series - and its :

    1902 :

    image

The above 1902-O quarter is far more difficult to locate than the casual Barber collector realizes. Try and locate one that has not been messed with. Its nearly impossible. MS examples are available occasionally however - but, for a price.

    image

I picked up the above 1902-S half from a Heritage sale in November, 2002.

One more image... a 1902-O Half, from my mid range set:
    image

And another 1902-O from my best set [ Ex: ANACS MS 61 ] Now PCGS AU 58:

Wow, there has been a flurry of great barber's listed on this page.

MFH, that 1901 is fantastic, I would resubmit and is that 98 a proof...looks like it could be.

mercurydimeguy, beautiful quarter what does she grade?

    CommemDude, that's a keeper....wonderful patina

Here is the quarter for my type set, the holder has a couple of issues, but here goes:

    Mike,

I'm 100% with Bluelobster on your 1901. Geez, what a stunning example. How long have you owned that?

In fact, 4 or 5 of the last few images on this thread are wild! This thread just keeps getting better.

Dave99B. I picked up the 1901-P half from an ANR auction in December of 2005.

It seems as if in my haste to add images to boost the thread count - not specifically
to boost my person post count - I have neglected to pause and really admire the coins
    posted by others.

Dan, I really like the look of that 1899 half.

Don, your collection is one of the best matched ones I've had the pleasure of viewing.

Kiyote, that's an excellent looking 1916 dime.

BlueLobster, stunning 1907 quarter. What's it grade ?

SMK, is the 12-D half part of a type set or are you going for the whole kit & kaboodle ? Nice coin.

MercuryDimeGuy, love both the 1900 proof quarter & 1892 ms half. Got grades ?
--- I'm horrible grading high end Proofs and MS's by images---

Commemdude, that's a great looking coin. Great patina...gotta love that coin.

Am glad to see others posting their coins. I knew I wasn't the only Barber Guy out there !

Dave99B...start adding images again, I really like the different angles
    of your images.

It has a similar grade to your 1901........ 66*, so probably AU at PCGS image did you crack your 1901 out or leave it slabbed, when you sent it?
  • MFHMFH Posts: 11,720 ✭✭✭✭

as I'm still on the 1902 date...thought I'd share something just listed on Ebay...

I'm not bidding on this and I have no personal interest in this coin...

just thought someone would like to at least view it on Ebay and if they like it

[ I sure do...] ... they can make a stab at it.

    1900 Proof 25C is PCGS PR66CAM
    1892 MS 50C is PCGS MS63

Both are at the high end of the grade with very nice eye appeal.

  • Mike, I bought it for my type set but I'm having second thoughts on breaking it out of the slab. I might just hold on to it and find another for the type set.

  • This thread just doesn't want to die.......great news for the Barber dudes. It's a convenient place to post some fantastic looking Barbers. I knew the Barber series were popular, and gaining steam too, but I never dreamed that a 600 (soon to be) post Barber thread was possible. It's great to see alot of new Barber collectors posting to this thread.

Mike P., what more can you say about that beauty. IMHO, Larry Whitlow's imaging is second to none.

Mike Hayes.....how is it possible that some of your nicest AU-58's just happen to be key or semi-key date Barber halves. I love your 04-O and your 05-O (not posted) and many of the other great AU-58's in your set.

Dale thanks for sharing your stunning 1892. I constantly use the photos you and Dr. Pete have on your registrys' for reference. It's a great resource that I appreciate very much.
