I don't know if that sigline makes someone a racist as Thomas Paine was talking about the institutions of religion not the religion itself.

    Stown, congrats on the win!

Trent Green is a fool for attempting that type of block, plain and simple.

Saw the replay several times, was definitely a cheap and dirty shot by Green. It was wrong for TJ to taunt Green, but in the heat of the moment, after a guy tries to essentially risk your career by going for a block like that below the knees, I can understand why TJ initially reacted the way he did, especially when you consider how intense and amped up these guys are in the first place.

It wasn't a cheap shot by Green

    You must be kidding, right?

IMO, it was a legal hit and I don't think Green intentionally went for the knees; I do think he wanted to cut Johnson, but not necessarily going right for the knee. But yes, it was an unacceptably dangerous hit, one that is surprisingly still legal in the NFL. A little bit one way or the other, and Johnson is out for the season with a knee blowout. I don't blame him for being mad, but his lack of restraint is not commendable.

TJ was not fined nor given a suspension by the NFL.

    Link

I'm willing to bet this chain of events will be brought up to the competition committee. What Green did should be illegal and probably will be soon..

It may have been legal, but it was definitely a cheap shot. Whether Green intended to hit him where he did isn't clear, but the guy's season or even his career could have been over is he had landed a different way, so I definitely agree with you on that note. The rule should definitely be changed. If they are going to penalize someone for horsecollaring, then they certainly ought to penalize someone for this.

Hey, I've already called it a cheap shot, so you're preaching to the choir. Nevertheless, my understanding is that it was a legal hit -- even though it shouldn't be.

I can't see a QB of all people intentionally trying to take out the knees. I think Green made a snap decision to cut Johnson, but I don't think intent to injure was there. I can't get into Green's head so I don't know...but again, TJ had every reason to be pissed about the block, and the fact that this kind of thing is legal tells me the matter needs to go to the competition committee, sooner rather than later, before more players get their knees shredded from "legal" blocks.

Never meant to suggest otherwise, ziggy...

In this day and age, where players get flagged for sneezing too hard, this is one rule that needs to be changed. As far as what Green was thinking, no one but him knows what his intention was. I'd imagine that only the most vicious of players would ever intentionally and with premeditated motive intend to injure another player, but emotion gets the best of many guys out there on the field.

And also wasn't speaking about the people who practice the religions either.

It's interesting stown only had a problem with the Jewish part, but the Christian or Turkish religions get no love from him.

Also, calling someone a thug makes someone a racist too.

It won't be a legal hit much longer.

I now dub Keith Olbermann as the worst NFL commentator in the world. He spins things to fit his agenda and to give him something to talk about... Since he offers nothing else of substance and can't comment on how much he hates Bill O'Reilly during the pregame show.

What a stupid segment. But when one thinks he's better than everyone else, it doen't surprise me in the slighest.

Yeah. Losing to a division rival, on the road, with one loss, with a pro-bowl receiver out, and first game back for a RB after a major injury makes us "pretenders". Even more so considering we were expected to have 5 to 6 wins for the entire year, when we are already at 3?

    Pfht!

Go learn football and then come back and attempt to talk smack, idiot.

No, the texans are pretenders for losing to the Falcons. Getting BLOWN OUT today simply proves it. Injury excuses? LAME! Every team has injuries...the Bucs have lost 2 tailbacks, yet they beat a very good Titans team today!

    Texans, like stownieboy, defeated! Next!

Now please tell me what is the purpose of this post?

    1) Makes no sense since he's comparing apples to oragnes
    2) Filled with bitterness and flame war insitigations
    3) Blah, blah, blah, blah

And stownieboy? What the hell? Are you gay or something? Like did you say that in a lisp or something?

Apply back to Modesto Community College (assuming they let you back in), get a degree, and then come talk smack.

Look here boy - using the 'but we were injured!' excuse in explaining a defeat is the most pathetic and LAME excuse EVER - just admit that your team got their asses handed to them, and move on. Every team deals with injuries, it just appears the texans are ill prepared to do so!

Did you spend a lot of time attempting to think of a comeback? Sorry, but I didn't even make it past the first line image

How pathetic is it that he constantly hit refresh, just to resort to "spellling error, hahahah!" when I had a good times, drinking, eating, and hanging with friends?

Did you watch "your" Bucs by yourself today? If a big play happen, did the only hand you slap was one of your own? Did grandma tell only you to "pipe down" when a big play happen?

But I wouldn't expect anything more from a Modesto Community College flunky.

    Now that's funny.

  • You are embarrassed because your miserable, pathetic texans are living up to their billing - a failed franchise while the Bucs are rolling.

Texans lose to a team that was winless going in.
Texans get blown out by a team they beat twice last year.
Texans have the worst winning percentage of any team in the NFL.

Yeah, I'd be embarrassed too if my team was the train wreck yours is.

Seriously, what in the hell are you smoking? I've cheered for MY team since day one, through thick and thin. How in the world can I be embarrassed for MY improving team, dope? It took the Bucs, what, almost 30 years to win a Super Bowl, only to see you jump on their bandwagon shortly there after? And you call out a real fan?

But I guess a cross country, bandwagoning, Modesto Community Colllege flunky wouldn't understand that simple concept.

Nobody's calling you out, clown, but your bungling team and their total and complete ineptitude. What I was calling YOU out on, clown, was throwing the injury card as a pathetic excuse why you lost. Just admit your team is inferior and move along, asshat.

Funny, too, that you attempt to insult my intelligence but YOU are the dope making spelling errors.

Go back, learn to spell, and then come back here to make insults about other's intelligence, ok clown?

It's funny when people take pot shots at others by saying that "their" team blah blah. Last I knew was that Stown was a Texans fan and enjoys the team win or lose, to me that is a good fan. Go tailgate before the game, take the kids, root like heck and if they don't win keep the head up until the next time. We fans cannot play for the team, make personnel decisions or call the plays. I think some people take this way too seriously and question the manhood of others by the team they root for, pretty silly.
