Hypothetically, you could use the autographed pricing section in the SMR for weighting. As it seems they place higher value to certain autographs based on known availability or lack thereof...
I'm not currently collecting the set, although I do have a few ungraded HOF auto cards...Might be in my future though once I am totally done upgrading my HOF RC set...
Greg, I hope you will continue adding scans as you add cards to the set...It always fun to lay eyes on some of those rare autos...

Check out eBay user "ukredskins" auctions. You may already be familiar with him but he consistently has a ton of football autographs for sale. All starting at $2.50. From your list, I've picked up Lem Barney, Willie Davis, John Henry Johnson, Mike Munchak, Art Shell, Hank Stram, Gene Upsahw, and Dave Wilcox all for less than $5. Several of the others guys you are missing also show up in his auctions frequently - I just haven't won those yet.
I may have just increased my competition for his autos though!
I had to send my 2000 Elite PTT Montana auto back...mechanical error, they didn't label as "auto" and of course that kept me from putting it in the set.
Nice additions! It's going to be fun seeing the different cards we all have for the same guys. Hopefully my submission will be done this week since it was logged in on 12/9~

Wufdude- Not bad. Plenty of 9's and 8's. A 10 on the Adderly helps too. Ironically I'm not as concerned when I get 7's with autograph cards. It's still a Near Mint card and as long as the 'graph is nice and the picture is clear, that's what really counts.
Nice job Wulfdude!! This is great - I love the competition w/ you guys. It will be fun to see where we're at after the next submission. Are you going after the HOF auto baseball and basketball sets also or are those cards for sale?

Thanks guys. I agree with Fabfrank. I'm not really concerned with grades either. I really prefer to have older cards, over the newer certified autos, in my set but paying the $20 or $15 (thanks Greg!) to have them all authenticated is just too costly for me.

wufdude = Jason from the e-mails we've been sending back and forth. Yes, I also have a Baseball HOF Auto Set so I'll be adding the ones from this submission in there. Much, much tougher than football obviously. I've also been picking up Basketball HOF Autos and will start a registry set there as well.
I'll be sending you an Excel file with my submittals for the $15 PSA/DNA submission early next week. I'm still waiting on a few cards that I won to include in the submission. It'll really be interesting to see all the cards once that submission is done!

Greg, I think we were butting heads on a Carson auto on eBay over the weekend. Also, did you end up getting that Frank Gifford? Nice card that I don't see pop up on eBay too often.
I noticed that you were bidding on the Fan Favorites card. It went a little too high in my opinion. I already have auto's of Moon, Aikman and White. Still looking for Carson, Wright and Madden. The only way to get Wright will be at a card show or through the mail.
I missed your second question. I didn't get the Gifford. I have having the worst time trying to win Gifford, Merlin Olsen and Sonny Jurgensen. There is heavy interest in all three.

Lilly took 10 days, I plan on using the AA Retired to send in to PSA/DNA.
Hopefully if you guys start TTM that we will see a variety of cards and not the same ones as each other. I have Harvey's 2006 Book and I'll be happy to share addys with you guys.
I also got my Montana back from PSA to and will be adding it tonight to the auto registry.
I added a few to my set tonight. B. Starr, L. Csonka, D. Butkus, L. Swann, K. Strong and V. Lombardi. they are all from different issues (except for the Strong and Lombardi), but all are nice autographs.
Did you mention that you got a certified auto back from PSA that they failed to label as an autograph, thus you were not able to add it to your registry set? Without scanning back through the thread, it seems like I recall this. I have a similar case - a 2001 Fleer Ultra College Paul Hornung. Did you have to send the card back in for re-slabbing?
If you guys need anything re-slabbed - just send it to me if you want. I'm getting several of my own cards re-slabbed (because of errors) at the Chicago show at the end of March. I can send them back to you when I send back the order when received from PSA. Let me know.

I had sent it in for grading and they labeled it as a regular PTT. I caught it the day the grade was posted, called customer service and was told it was labeled properly as an autograph....I was told this even though I knew it was not since it was not label that way when the grades posted. Anyway, they sent the cards to me and guess what, when I got them back it was still labeled wrong. So yes I had to send it back to correct the "mechanical error" that I pointed out before it was even mailed back to me.
Sounds like my situation. I e-mailed Cosetta a scan of the front and back of the card in the slab with hopes that she could simply do something on her end to allow me to add the card to my set. Still haven't heard back from her.
Had my Charlie Joiner TTMs come back today, very nice. Mr. Joiner signed 2005 Topps Fan Favs x2 and 1985 Topps #3 (Record Breaker) in black sharpie. Sent c/o KC Chiefs on 2/3/06.

We should have enough for the 100 card min. Randall dropped out (Carew) because he is working on the 55 Bowman set. I have around 42 for the $15 fee and over 100 for the $5 fee (not all autographs). I just found out that I'm leaving on the 22nd for China so I'll probably mail it out next weekend.
I have to start filling out my own excel file...should be a fun project for this weekend.

I got the Lem Barney back today signed TTM (8 days c/o home), looks very sweet added "20" and "HOF 92" and it still looks as good as it did when I pulled it from the slab. I post pic later tonight.

Check out eBay user "ukredskins" auctions. You may already be familiar with him but he consistently has a ton of football autographs for sale. All starting at $2.50. From your list, I've picked up Lem Barney, Willie Davis, John Henry Johnson, Mike Munchak, Art Shell, Hank Stram, Gene Upsahw, and Dave Wilcox all for less than $5. Several of the others guys you are missing also show up in his auctions frequently - I just haven't won those yet.

Greg, I think we were butting heads on a Carson auto on eBay over the weekend. Also, did you end up getting that Frank Gifford? Nice card that I don't see pop up on eBay too often.
I noticed that you were bidding on the Fan Favorites card. It went a little too high in my opinion. I already have auto's of Moon, Aikman and White. Still looking for Carson, Wright and Madden. The only way to get Wright will be at a card show or through the mail.
I missed your second question. I didn't get the Gifford. I have having the worst time trying to win Gifford, Merlin Olsen and Sonny Jurgensen. There is heavy interest in all three.

Lilly took 10 days, I plan on using the AA Retired to send in to PSA/DNA.
Hopefully if you guys start TTM that we will see a variety of cards and not the same ones as each other. I have Harvey's 2006 Book and I'll be happy to share addys with you guys.
I also got my Montana back from PSA to and will be adding it tonight to the auto registry.

I had sent it in for grading and they labeled it as a regular PTT. I caught it the day the grade was posted, called customer service and was told it was labeled properly as an autograph....I was told this even though I knew it was not since it was not label that way when the grades posted. Anyway, they sent the cards to me and guess what, when I got them back it was still labeled wrong. So yes I had to send it back to correct the "mechanical error" that I pointed out before it was even mailed back to me.

We should have enough for the 100 card min. Randall dropped out (Carew) because he is working on the 55 Bowman set. I have around 42 for the $15 fee and over 100 for the $5 fee (not all autographs). I just found out that I'm leaving on the 22nd for China so I'll probably mail it out next weekend.
I have to start filling out my own excel file...should be a fun project for this weekend.
