    Hi Ho Silver, Away!!!

    I knew it would happen.

"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

OK I remember these prices and I had bought a green monster at this time to search for the elusive MS70. Sold them all around the same price. Except for the PCGS MS69's I got out of it. Those did well. image

Hmmm, let me think... Gold will not reach $1100 in the foreseeable future and certainly won't hold $1050 if it ever reaches that point. Silver is a strong buy to $35 over the next two years. AAPL even though it's at $119 will split this year (2008) and regain it's current trading price very quickly.

These are just my thoughts and any individual investment should be only completed after doing Due Diligence (DD) of your own...

OOPS, almost forgot about this little OTC position IDPI.OB which just might take-off like a rocket...

Reading this felt like I was in the "way-back-machine." Enjoyed all the heart-felt convictions. I'm surprise I didn't chime in back then because I was buying.

  • Right now, I've got a little gold and almost 3000oz., of junk silver and coinage, sold my AAPL at about $130.00 wish I'd held onto it but since it was purchased between $18.00 and $30.00 per share it cashed in nicely. I'm still strong on AG with a goal of at LEAST $35.00oz., but gold will take a tumble after November when the Conservatives retake the House and Senate. Probably fall $250.00 an ounce.

I'm more worried that Uncle Ben will rule out more quantitative easing in the near future, sending the dollar higher and gold lower.

I'm surprised at the strength of silver, platinum and palladium in the face of global economic weakness.

Somehow I missed this post years back.

I love this comment though back from August 2005:

Ok so let me get this straight, I should buy silver at under 7$ oz then hang onto it till when??? 8, 9, 10??
Come on I can say buy Cisco (CSCO) it will hit 20 again this year!

    Answer: Y E S !

You only would have had to hung on to silver for 9 months for a 100% increase ($7 to $14). Good ole Cisco went up 30% in that same time.....and Cisco did indeed hit $20 again in 2005.....but surprise....it's still at $20 five years later....and silver's not at $7 either.

Just to trump you and for the record, your prediction for the Senate will not come true. Nevertheless a prediction for Gold and Apple stock was very impressive. I also like that you volunteered that you did not sell the stock at a high. The hogs never learn. You're a smart man.
There is no "AT" or "NT". We only have "market acceptable" or "not market acceptable.

I would say the predictions of the present are as accurate as the predictions of 2005.... Threads like this make me laugh.... everyone is an expert, putting in their opinions as if they were hard, indisputable fact. Looking back, they were soft BS. Cheers, RickO

This is a fun thread, with silver taking a beating for the last few days and closing under $29.00 today.......kinda adds some perspective........

  • As of this morning on Ebay typical silver is going for over $35.00 per oz. JQP is not paying attention to the facts.

Everybody is trying to get into silver at this point. I have not found any bargains in the past 3 days.

2007 and 2008 W's are almost untouchable at under $40 at this point.

From my own past experience in selling PM's on eBay over the last 10 years, it appears, that eBay is always behind the curve by about 30 days. Give it time & it will adjust.

No matter what I bid, someone just bids higher. I guess these people will pay anything for them at this point.

Looks more and more that I will just have to be happy with what I have.

$6.90 per oz now. Long Term Investment

That's the year I bought about 10 various back dates of the ASE's rolls. Even bought the a 1987 roll in the old red mint tubes-the last year they did this. But even back then the premiums for the older rolls were very high. Even the 1996 Rolls were going for around $400 back then. Today they are above 1K. Regret not buying one back then.

Its kind of funny to see how many people got it wrong back in '05 reading through the comments. Whats even funnier are those who basically ridiculed silver as an investment!
