"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose." John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff
OK I remember these prices and I had bought a green monster at this time to search for the elusive MS70. Sold them all around the same price. Except for the PCGS MS69's I got out of it. Those did well.
<< <i>Whats Ben think NOW?.......................I'm ready to Listen.............. >>
Hmmm, let me think... Gold will not reach $1100 in the foreseeable future and certainly won't hold $1050 if it ever reaches that point. Silver is a strong buy to $35 over the next two years. AAPL even though it's at $119 will split this year (2008) and regain it's current trading price very quickly.

Reading this felt like I was in the "way-back-machine." Enjoyed all the heart-felt convictions. I'm surprise I didn't chime in back then because I was buying.
Right now, I've got a little gold and almost 3000oz., of junk silver and coinage, sold my AAPL at about $130.00 wish I'd held onto it but since it was purchased between $18.00 and $30.00 per share it cashed in nicely. I'm still strong on AG with a goal of at LEAST $35.00oz., but gold will take a tumble after November when the Conservatives retake the House and Senate. Probably fall $250.00 an ounce.

Ok so let me get this straight, I should buy silver at under 7$ oz then hang onto it till when??? 8, 9, 10?? Come on I can say buy Cisco (CSCO) it will hit 20 again this year!
Answer: Y E S !
You only would have had to hung on to silver for 9 months for a 100% increase ($7 to $14). Good ole Cisco went up 30% in that same time.....and Cisco did indeed hit $20 again in 2005.....but surprise....it's still at $20 five years later....and silver's not at $7 either.
curious how you could discuss precious metel prices and not consider the political ramifications,as they definately can affect prices...just my opinion

Just to trump you and for the record, your prediction for the Senate will not come true. Nevertheless a prediction for Gold and Apple stock was very impressive. I also like that you volunteered that you did not sell the stock at a high. The hogs never learn. You're a smart man.

I would say the predictions of the present are as accurate as the predictions of 2005.... Threads like this make me laugh.... everyone is an expert, putting in their opinions as if they were hard, indisputable fact. Looking back, they were soft BS. Cheers, RickO

That's the year I bought about 10 various back dates of the ASE's rolls. Even bought the a 1987 roll in the old red mint tubes-the last year they did this. But even back then the premiums for the older rolls were very high. Even the 1996 Rolls were going for around $400 back then. Today they are above 1K. Regret not buying one back then.
Apparently $50 is not out the realm of possibility considering the economy; this might be within the next two years!!!! Chuckle if you'd care to or want to pay for the financial advise just paypal...

Its kind of funny to see how many people got it wrong back in '05 reading through the comments. Whats even funnier are those who basically ridiculed silver as an investment!
