So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
Some phenomenal stuff guys! I haven't been around as much lately, but I'm still chuggin along in my collecting... Some of these are gifts from fellow board members (highlights of larger packages), and some were bought myself. These are the highlights of the past month or two, so here we go...
A gift from a board member
Bought last week at my local card shop. I've been eyeing it for a lil while and he finally had it marked down a little and I picked it up for $35. Not bad for any Chipper auto.
A few more gifts...thank you, again.
I picked this one up on ebay. It's about 2/3 the size of a normal card.
I've REALLY been wanting one of these for a long time and finally was able to nab one on ebay. They aren't expensive, just not very common.
Here's another gift...Thanks again.
Artyukhin's my 2nd favorite hockey player (behind Lecavalier) and an absolute blast to watch. He's not afraid of sacrificing his body. Look him up on youtube, he's got some great Knockouts! This is his rookie and it's on card too (notice a common theme regarding the oncard autos??)
There ya have it, nothing TOO amazing, but some cards I really enjoy and that's all that matters.
Sting- great eye appeal on the Kaline. Hard to beat nice mid-grade vintage.
Goot- glad you enjoyed the cards!
RD- I really like the aircraft cards. I bought some John Player and Son tennis cards last year just because they looked cool! May have to get some like yours as well.
Glad to see that this thread has been going strong for almost 4 years.
Got these cards in the mail the other day. They were generously sent for FREE by BPorter26 / Bobby. Great timing!...I didn't have a Wes Parker card and he just happened to be the last Dodgers to hit for the cycle until the other night. These will go right into the collection I'm putting together for my son.
Got some old photos in the mail, taken by an employee of the New York Giants in 1932 - candids of the players but the great thing was the autographs on the back:

Chris, congrats on the new Campy card...That is one sweet card. Another perfect example of buying the card and not the holder.

<< <i>Hey Chris, looks like a mechanical error on the '56 Campy...the 9 got flipped upside down. Sweet pickup! >>
That is a nice Campy, bottom right corner though is the issue??
Nice pickups everyone. That Kaline rookie is sweet, Stingray!

From time to time, I pick up a 52T that's well centered - this one was priced nice.
I don't think I'ld ever tackle the set but I've got a nice group of nicely centered 52s - perhaps they'll make a nice trade some day.

I never really thought I'd see this card, much less own it.
Thanx for sharing.
I want this card to be part of this thread:
I'm now at 23% - so I may leave this earth before I finish it but that's ok.

I can tell you he made a scotch sour that would knock you on your rear like a blitzing linebacker - lol, thanks
