It's been awhile since I've posted. These are a few of my favorite cards from the past few weeks. 2007 UD Printing Plate, my first Wainwright 1/1:
A couple Cardinal sigs from a recent trade:
This is the newest addition to my Roy Campanella collection (now up to 2 ). 1954 Bowman PSA 4 (I normally would have waited for a 5 or 6 but the eye appeal on this one was too good to pass up.)

Screw those few good looking chicks (NO NO, I didn't mean it that way! , attention thread monitors, I would never "dirty-talk" chicks "in that way"! When I mentioned "screw" it meant forget those few good looking chicks, and not screw them (in that "dirty old man" meaning!)!
Like I said, screw it! I'll take the cash!

Now, "that stack" would buy a hellava big B-day cake for Randy!
My wife got me these two recently. I had to promise to get rid of all of my modern stuff & she would help me finish my T213 set. Kudos to the wife on these two.
By the way....anyone interested in some high grade modern HOF rookies?
I had started picking up 1968 Topps Football Stand Up cards here and there, but today a whole set came up, so I bought it. There are only 22 cards, and it's an odd selection of players--Jim Grabowski from the Packers?--but they're attractive cards with nice head shots.
I guess I just don't understand PSA grading ... >>
Keep in mind that there are two sides to a card and between wax stains (usually PSA 5 or PSA 6) and the wrinkles/creases (PSA 5), there are a myriad of things that could've contributed to this card being a legitimate PSA 4.
It has great eye appeal from the front no matter the net grade.

Nice pick up! I have always liked these and they are pretty affordable (at least raw), although they pale in popularity compared to their baseball counterparts. The player selection is pretty interesting... I often wondered how Topps decided their checklists for these inserts back in the day.

The card has two very faint wrinkles on the right side of the card that don't show up on the scan. The back is fine except for one small printing spot near the name but nothing that would detract from the overall grade. I don't understand why it is in a 4 holder instead of a 5, though. But I'm glad it is because I got it cheaper than I would have in a 5.

Picked this up on eBay for my HOF set, not realizing until the auction was over that the seller was WinPitcher (Steve). Of course, it was a great transaction. Thanks again, Steve!
Had a copy of this in 10 a couple trades back in the Mantle thing and developed a greater appreciation for it... and decided to get a copy to keep for my HOF set... albeit a little early.
I received the Big Train in the mail yesterday. I have been trying to acquire the 1917-20 Felix Mendelsohn premiums. However, they rarely come up for sale. For those of you that do not know about this set, they were offered individually in the Sporting News from 1917 to 1920. The Big Train was apparently issued in 1917. There are around a 100 different cards. The two keys are Babe Ruth and Joe Jackson.
The Big Train goes nicely with my Ruth (the Ruth was issued in 1919 soon after his trade to the Yankees - it shows him wearing a Red Sox uniform but with the caption of Yankees on the bottom. It is considered the first card of Ruth as a Yankee):
If anybody has any others, please let me know. I have found it to be very difficult to get the opportunity to buy one.

In that vein... Of all the '09s lithographed shots., This caramel set had the most realistic images.
Very nice Wagner! I try not to look at E95's too much, though... Afraid I'll get hooked.
Picked this up on Ebay. I will never own the majority of these cards, but it is cool to see them and read about them IMO.
