It drives my wife crazy - when we got married I was 34 yrs old (late comer to the marriage game) and still had my sweaters from high school!
Well - I can't throw anything away - if I had lived in the same house - I would still have all the magazines and newspapers!!!
Here's my TV guide from the 1976 bicentennial 4th of July week!
Still has the mailing label on it!
Anyone else have this kind of stuff? mike >>
I only have the TV Guides that had Ripken on the cover. Along with two shoe boxes of various magazines with him on the cover (even GQ Magazine), I have two newspaper printing plates from when he broke The Streak, one from the Washington Post, and the other from the Baltimore Sun. I also have every Beckett cover, including a mint Issue #2. I know it's not very thrilling, but I'm pretty proud of them anyway.
Thanks Arny, I have wanted this card for a long time. I only wanted it in a 4 or 5, but I am doing a 1955 Topps set in PSA 6, so I figure I might as well get it out of the way now. I have a couple of other graded Koufax cards so I am toying with doing a Basic set. LMK if you do get rid of some of yours.
<< <i>Here are a couple more for my Campaneris collection and a couple more for my Cuellar collection... >>
I had noticed that you had won that '67 and that you had bid on the one that was up a week or so before that. I thought you were probably starting a set of him. He and Dave McNally are both really underrated, IMHO.
Downtown, that Koufax is a beauty! The colors are blazing! Nice pickup.
Ladder7, sweet Cobb and Wagner! I'd be happy with either one, nice additions to your collection.
DGF, I think you got a gem mint 10 there! Nice find!
Stone, I too am a packrat. But I have found that I accumulate stuff quickly which leaves me with little or no room. I'm about at that point again, I think I need to do some weeding out. I really like the Jordan magazine.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
Just got this in. It's 8x10 and was distributed at the 1989 National Convention in Chicago. Ironically, I actually attended that convention and remember getting one of these sheets. Of course, I have no idea where it is. I'm sure it's in a box at my parents' house, but I thought I'd pick up one for my collection. It is serial numbered, but I have no idea how many were produced.
I realize this isn't such a huge deal compared to most of the Registry collectors, but I just reached the 50% mark in my Cal Ripken Jr. Basic Set Registry!! I'm ranked 3rd out of 26 sets, with 164 out of 328 cards, and my set holds a 9.25 Weighted GPA (all 9s & 10s). Like I said, it's not much compared to most people on here, but I just HAD to say it somewhere, I'm proud of my collection, and I needed a place to vent! Thanks for reading.
Considering I own half the "world's population" of PSA graded 1976 OPC baseball cards in PSA 9 (and I think I know who owns the other half, as he was the only one who ever bid against me LOL!)...
It seems nobody really gives a "rat's arse" about this scarce series. And will they ever be worth more than the cardboard they are printed on?
F--k it! Who cares! I still like 'em! (...And I'll share some O-Pee-Chee scans with u all!)...

I'm looking at that set, now, and it's quite impressive. You seem to have many of the key cards already.
Nice card...with a hefty price to go with it. It looks like they left the bottom of the card white for the signatures...too bad no one told the athletes.
All of my cards suck , and the mailman doesn't like me !!

John, I've never even seen one of those before. In the span of about two weeks you've amassed a Ringside collection better than any I've heard of. Congratulations and don't stop scanning (at least for my sake ).

This would be an awesome card if it weren't for the Emmit Smith side.

Wondo,
I missed this post. That is awesome. Nice pickup
Take Me Out to the Ball Game was printed in 1908. There are 11 different variations to the sheet music.
I just picked up #5!!!!
Each piece of sheet music has the pic of a singer(s) on it.
This one has a pic of Susie Fisher. She is one of the more "noted" people for singing it - not quite Kate Smith and God Bless...
Collecting all 11 is quite a task - but that's what makes collecting so much fun for me.
thanx for viewing,
mike
I bought one like this a few months back and came to me in 90 pieces!
1972 Jim Beam commemorating the FB HOF in Ohio.
There's a little write-up on the back of the bottle about the HOF.
To my knowledge, I'm the only screwball collecting these on the boards.
mike
That's a sweet Page!
It's a mosquito knee away from being a 10 on my screen!

Will PSA let me re-slab this card, with the "newer style printing on the flip", and allow me to keep the same grade???
I wonder?

I find it strange that the scan of card is tilted to the left.
You would think, with all those super bowl rings on Emmitt's fingers and the one on Brett's, it would be tilted the other way.
