These stinkin' scammers always have some "excuse" don't they? This guy appears to have scammed about 10 - 15% of his recent customers. If say a local contractor scammed 10 - 15% of his customers, he'd probably windup in jail. Yet on ebay it seems as though nothing ever happens to these scammers. Unfortunately, this guy will be back on ebay sometime in the future doing the exact same thing.
Got an email from David (Aka: turtleguy64). He told me the buyer who got "ripped-off" from nedsk (re: coin rolls) and left nedsk four negative feedbacks, left his telephone number, but the area code is incorrect:
Here was the email I received from David (turtleguy64): "...If you get a chance, read the latest negative feedback he received on a coin deal.I called that ebay buyer-he gave incorrect area code-should be 541 not 741.He said that nedsk offered him a full refund if he would retract all the negative feedback. He refused to do so. Ed the buyer also told me that he got 5 calls from other disgruntled nedsk buyers. One of them is a US Postal worker who intends to get his friendly postal police on Ned's ass.Federal fraud charges may come later for using US mail to defraud. That the nedsk update .Stay tuned.David..."

I bought a graded card from Ned, and was concerned enough that I had Jay Wolt pick it up (one of the good guys, our Jay). It went well, but with cash in hand it should've gone well. Jay said the place was a dive (pc repair place) and they were late and not overly friendly. He didn't deal with Ned but an assistant. He was at lunch with a bunch of coworkers and said he got "gyped" on a car deal. 10 minutes after getting back to the office he was called into H.R. where he was written up for racists remarks. I'm with ya Steve.
When I was a kid in NYC we used the term "japped" to imply screwed - after all, in my area, there was no love lost over the Japanese and WWII and everything. My guess, the inferior products they made in the 50s was part of the origin - it was reinforced in the 70s when they flooded the market with cheap cars and oops....we got "japped" again!
In todays climate - I mean no disrespect to Japanese americans - some expressions just hung around for a long time.
Heck, I didn't even know it was negative to refer to a product as "Jap" instead of the full word Japanese.
IMO, due to liberal thinking, we have become an nation of over-sensitive people about our own heritage but have become more uncivil towards each other in the most rudimentary fashion when it comes to how we talk to each other and will say things that never would have come up 30 yrs ago.
When I was young, these were some of the "meanings"
A: To be "gyped" was to be "ripped-off."
B: To be "japed" was to be "surprised."
C: An "indian giver" was one who gave something and then took it back; like the government did when it "gave" to native Americans.
By the way, while I think of it: The phrase "I see the handwriting on the wall," does NOT mean that you see some grafitti that is already written on the wall. It ACTUALLY means that you see "a hand writing on the wall" and while you cannot make out the entire message, you get the feeling that something is up.
To learn that someone was scolded for using the term "gyped," is a great illustration of exactly why I am glad that I am not young anymore. We do not need to worry if "a hobby is dying;" we need to worry if our country will survive the next wave of political correctness.
Seriously, I was in Montreal with my inlaws, who happen not to be of the Jewish persuasion like myself, and we were talking in the car about things jewish....I was saying something about being a jew and I noticed my god-son in the back seat whispering to my mother-in-law. He thought I had said a bad word by saying "jew".
Sorry guys, some of my best friends and all that, but I still get queasy when somebody talks to me about "jewing me down". They always say, well, you know what I mean - sadly, I do.

Here's one for "redneck" that I hadn't heard until I met my wife, who grew up here in S. Florida - "hucklebuck." >>
Keith Never heard that one - but there was a dance called the hucklebuck - I saw it on a rerun of the Honeymooners.
Now for those from WV - I remember people around Pittsburgh referring to people from WV as "hoopies" - sounds like a redneck term.
I have heard of some using hoosier as a redneck term - like: How do you call a hoosier? Attention Kmart shoppers! Hey, I buy my cards there! Well, just call me a hoosier, hoopie, redneck or whatever!
Next time I am at the FW show Im having a shake at RITA'S. Last yr when i was there everytime I drove by it she was closed. I did have breakfast at that homey diner though.

Here's one for "redneck" that I hadn't heard until I met my wife, who grew up here in S. Florida - "hucklebuck." >>
Keith
Never heard that one - but there was a dance called the hucklebuck - I saw it on a rerun of the Honeymooners.
Well, just call me a hoosier, hoopie, redneck or whatever!
mike
i thought hoosiers were limited to Indiana.. ?
bob & doug mckenzie used to call people "hosers"... heh..
damn canucks..
Don't you take the last donut, eh. And don't blame it on hosehead the dog.
That is a line from the movie for those of you who don't know.

Yes on the hoosier from the state
but people in other areas use the term as a negative - have heard people referred to as "hoosiers" in St. Louis.

Yes, if you are white and live south of Highway 40 and east of Kingshighway then you are a hoosier. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
