I like watching women's fastpitch softball games. Both my daughters played, and my oldest won scolarships from 2 different schools, one for undergraduate work and one in graduate school. She was apitcher for a division one university. I've probably seen over 1000 games in person.
I bow hunt for deer in the fall. I take my 5 year old son fishing when it's not too hot. We all go to Cedar Point usually 1 time every other week and let the kids ride the kiddy rides, etc.
Besides coins i collect Old toy robots, old flashlights and lanterns, old clocks. I have over 100 old toys, 75 robots, 147 flashlights pre 1930, 27 lanterns, I also target shoot and have several Handguns and rifles. And last but not least i own over 300 clocks. I have 86 of them ticking away as we speak and the balance in storage.
I need a bigger house so i can fit more stuff
"The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD GOD Almighty."
I don't do it anymore but getting my pilots license and ultimately my instrument rating was my number one hobby for many years (private school for my son ate up all my flying money). My other main hobby besides collecting is martial arts (I teach Jiu-Jitsu and Filipino Stick Fighting). I also love reading, mainly U.S. history (if you haven't read David McCulloch's "John Adams" put it on your summer reading list ... great book).
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin
Winding through all five gears of an ATV on trails and blasting around a large sand pit, keeps my blood flowing. Being on the water, in a jet boat or jetski, is my ultimate, favorite pastime.
Biking every day, looking for Indian arrowheads, metal detecting, vegetable gardening, and escaping to my mountain retreat in the Blue Ridge mountains where the bears, not the buffalo, literally roam. But when I do a full circle it all still comes back to coins.

I've been running distance and occasionally racing for 35 years. I've slowed down quite a bit over the years, but still was able to complete a marathon last month. I do something physical pretty much every day. If I'm not running, I'm probably in the pool.
I like speaking foreign languages, and speak English, Spanish and Portuguese reasonably well, in addition to being able to insult people in about 15 languages total.
Come September, I'll be out of town. Travel has always been important to me, and in each of the last four years, I have visited Brasil.

My latest hobby is getting some of the old pinball machines I used to play growing up. I got the Eight Ball Deluxe a couple of months ago and I getting another one this weekend in Milwaukee. My hobbies change all the time but coin collecting is the only constant. mike
I like to ride wheelies on my motorcycle while on the FREEWAY
here is a link to the videos we make while riding wheelies at night
click on the top link and go to 2:22 into the video and you will see a blue bike in a wheelie, that's me. Most of the other footage is me filming the other guys.

find early Coke bottles very interesting. Flash is all into this I think too.
This is true. My oldest Coke bottle dates from 1900. I also have a 1910 and bottles from every other decade up through the '70's. I collect other Coca-Cola items as well.
Anybody else here seriously trade Stock options (Puts and Calls)? I have done quite a bit of options trading over the past couple of years.
Also, I like good music (Foreigner, Survivor, etc.) and watching sports. Ok I like other things as well, but I can't think of everything off hand!
JJacks
Always buying music cards of artists I like! PSA or raw! Esp want PSA 10s 1991 Musicards Marx, Elton, Bryan Adams, etc. And 92/93 Country Gold AJ, Clint Black, Tim McGraw PSA 10s
Geez, I didn't realize there were so many REDNECKS that are coin collectors. Hunting, shooting, even guys that make their own moonshine.
I'll jump in. Outside of coins as my number one hobby, I also collect vintage Patek Philippe and Rolex wristwatches. I'm also into Ferraris too. I've been checking out gold nuggets (really!) lately as a new hobby.
But as my son nears two, and a baby girl on the way, I'm enjoying spending more time just hanging around the house
Sitting on the dock in the evening watching the moon come up over the lake with the better half, snowmobiling, Elk hunting in colorado, fishing, training my new golden retriever puppy, antique hunting with the wife, travel, wines, fine food, stock trading and coaching or watching one of my 7 kids play sports. That is usually enough to keep me busy. Besides the 60+ hours a week spent running my business.
Also love to play blackjack and Texas holdem at the Indian casinos
Spending time with my son, raising pet bids (ck-tiels, this program will not allow me to spell correctly) 35 mm film photography (no 10100110 for me), bass guitar, salt water aquariums, live bait Jack fishing and smoking Palauan cigars on the beach under the most colorful sunsets on the planet.
I take photos for skiing and mountaineering magazines. It's becoming less of a hobby and more of a second job, but I get to travel all over the world and have a lot of it funded by ski, clothing and equipment sponsors. I'm leaving for Argentina to do some climbing and Skiing in the Andes in August.
Here's a photo I took in Cordova, AK last March that will Probably get published in Couloir Magazine this upcoming season.
Here's one taken from my back yard in Utah this past April. This one should also be published in Couloir Magazine this year.
Besides spending time with the fam, I play drums, love music, love antiquing, working out and basketball. Back packing in the summer, I love a good beer and a good wine and a great scotch. I am also a movie buff.
A most interesting thread and am amazed at the varying interests and talents. For myself, I also enjoy photography, American history associated with the migration and settlement of the West (allied to an interest in Territorial Gold), world travel (spent Spring break in Cabo San Lucas ocean kayaking and last August toured Germany and Austria via a new Mercedes 500SL, with an episode of last summer's travel featured in the current issue of Mercedes Momentum magazine). Also a supportive alum of Northwestern football, and otherwise enjoying seeing my "investment" in my kids college educations starting to come to fruition with one Harvard grad, one Northwestern grad, two college seniors this coming school year, a starting college freshman, and one still at home in high school. Last weekend enjoyed a family hike through Alaska's longest tunnel (2 1/2 miles) from Portage to Whittier and am looking forward to boating and fishing in the weeks ahead.
OK, ya'll, I have to say this has been one of the best threads I've followed in quite some time. Being able to read the many various interests of the board members has been facinating.
ER, Jonesy, and RAUSCS; I appreciate your compliments on my glass,( being new to the art scene, I've found that when the art doesn't sell, the kudo's Really help the ego, if not the wallet).
What I have found, and I'm sure many of you have as well, is just how very much we all have in common. Talk about 6 degrees of separation; I venture we all could relate in some way with just about every other member... now That is community..
Let me add some of my other interests that still do, or have, meant importance to my life at one time or other. All of which were mentioned by other members ( in no particular order): chess, wine and beer making ( and drinking of such), golf, shooting, fishing, astronomy, geology, tournament pool (yep). Sorry, can't mention woodworking, that's what I did for over 20 years and I now only look at wood, as fuel. Flying has always been a minor passion ( 2 cross countries' away from a license, but the money goes for coins now, not flight time).
Outhaul, if I lived closer to the coast, the bulk of my collection would have already gone for a sailboat. Sailed in the BVI some, hooked forever.
oldcameoproofsguy.. you rule, I worked as a pro Ski Patroller for many years, still spend as much time in the BC coast mountains whenever possible. I once did the interconnect (Park City- Snowbird) on Tele's.. still can Tele, snowboard, and alpine in a single day. Not bad for 50+ y.o. knees.
darktone.. the old Gotlieb machines are true classics, 8 ball deluxe is nice, I liked the Sherriff, but, my current favorite ( and gets all my play time) is The Twilight Zone. Pat Lawlor is the best designer.
michael: You sir, are a truly admirable person and I give you my standing ovation for the fine work you do. You do the work and I'll try to fund the scholarships.
And to Annaconda2, other than spending time with your Dad with hunting and fishing and all, I see your interests are girls... a most worthy pursuit at your youthful age.. however, you need to spend more time at your Dad's office, the rewards will be amazing. G'day all, dave
PS: fishcooker,That's why they call it fishing and not catching
I think the most important thing to me is animals. I am considering acquiring a much larger piece of property and having more dogs, cats and maybe even a pig or two.
Beyond that, I am into wines, good food (I enjoy cooking too) and the occasional trip to Thailand (for the ...food!).
Finally, I am a diehard Mets fan. I think they will be the death of me!
