Board Member Specialties Directory - Everyone participate!

Hi folks,
I'm ready to tackle a project that I think can add a lot of value. Kind of like Dave (MastaHanky)'s location map.

I have often wondered about everyone's area of numismatic specialty. Sure, some are obvious from the threads, but I am sure others have spent many years in one area and moved on to another. To help us better understand our collective knowledge and to provide some added value, I am offering to build a directory of everyone's area of expertise. Here is my plan.

Reply to this thread with the following information:

o Member Name (Yes, I know it is at the left, but having it in here will make my life much easier with cut & paste)
o E-Mail address (If you want a copy of the file when I am done) - Please note if you DO NOT want me to publish it in the file. PM me if you do not want it in this thread
o Specialty area FOLLOWED BY experience rating in parentheses from 1 (low) to 5 (high). Don't be bashful admitting if you have years of knowledge.

Feel free to list more than 1 specialty area if you collect in multiple areas. I will create groupings and keep the file up to date. Too bad there is not a way to create a distribution list through the PM function or we could have topical user groups. Any ideas to make that happen are welcome.

OK - I hope I get a good response. I'll lead off...

If you contact Mr Paseo, he can provide you with his directory. He has already "tackled" this project, but I'm sure there are probably some updates required.

    Blade,
The is a link at the bottom of the US Coin Form thread index page ( where the threads are listed) called members listing. It allows forum members to provide their interests. I didn't see your listing so I wondered if you had discovered it It is an easy way to retreive the type of information you are interested in.

    Trime,
Thanks for the info about the member listing, but it is lacking in a lot of ways. First, I would need to know who I am looking for. I am most interested in a reverse search based on the specialty. For example, I am working on acquiring for some 1849 gold dollars and am seeking advice. Since I am categorizing this is a spreadsheet, I could sort everyone who is involved in gold coins, and send e-mails for their opinions. Also, by creating standard categories, we can easily group folks. I also like getting a rough idea of everyone's professed level of expertise.

Since some folks responded that mrpaseo has already tackled this effort, I am going to synch up with him and see if we can work together on an updated directory. BUT I still think it is valuable for everyone to respond to this thread so we can consolidate the updated info. Thanks everyone!!!!
