Doesn't seem like much, but I think it is a desirable NBA board game.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
Wonder why it wasn't Mantle MAYS and Snider?

Hi David - I gave my hypothesis on your thread about lobby cards.
After further thought and checking: as known - Mays was ROY in '51.
Just a guess on my part, but Irvin instead of Mays may help date this piece. Mays had a strong rookie year in 1951, but then entered military service in May 1952 and missed all of 1953.
During that period, Irvin was still the established Giants star, so choosing him alongside Mantle and Snider would make sense. Once Mays returned and exploded in 1954, I'd think he'd be the more obvious choice. Just a hypothesis.
Or simply put? This photo came out in early 1951 before Mays would be considered for that spot?
That AUTO is gorgeous and very well placed!!!
My PSA order that was due in June came in today. All going into my registry auto set:

Sam Mele played 10 major-league seasons (1947–56), finishing with a .267 lifetime average, 80 HR and 544 RBI.
Primarily an outfielder, Mele was a sure-handed defender—in 1952 he played 112 games in the outfield without committing an error. After his playing days he became a successful manager, going 524–436 (.546) with the Minnesota Twins.
His 1965 club won 102 games and the American League pennant before losing a seven-game World Series to Sandy Koufax and the Dodgers. Mele later spent many years as a scout and instructor with the Red Sox.
Very nice! I thought the player photos looked familiar: The photos are all from the 1969-70 Topps set but with different background colors. The exception is Pistol Pete - that image is from the 1971-72 Topps set.
Always loved the 1980s Gretzky cards. Added this nice PSA 8.
I am a sucker for a good $1 box. There’s someone at a local flea market that keeps putting out $1 boxes full of great stuff. This is the haul from this past weekend.
