I reached out to PCGS regarding a label for the Gold Flowing Hair similar to what was offered on the silver medal.
Wanted to verify it would be available and curious if could include Gold Shield considering design of label as used with medal. The design has a picture of the 1794 dollar where shield normally is printed.
Thank you for reaching out to PCGS Customer Care.
Right now, you can only obtain this label if you submit your coins through our bulk submission process. But, I do not want to let you know that we are working on offering this label to the public soon. Please check out our label page periodically:

Interesting. The PCGS table at Baltimore said it was an available option.
Wish this was worded better:

lol...i totally read over the NOT part!
I was tinkering of the online submission last night...it looks like you can only submit the coin via gold shield selection? The standard option only has max value at 2500. Are we forced to get that tacky gold shield on the label?
@telephoto1 : That is "2024 230th Anniversary Flowing Hair High Relief Gold Coin. Special “230” Privy Mark. The VERY FIRST Coin Struck. With canceled Obverse and Reverse Dies. Proof-70 Deep Cameo (PCGS)."
It's US$80,000 right now:
Edit to add: I see that they have it now listed as now THROUGH Dec. 12th. My original understanding was that the auction was to be held Dec. 12th. Obviously I was either mistaken or something changed.
There could be a silver & gold set issued later at an outrageous premium. Or some king of gimmick added and given to the big boys or another auction. They are on a mandate to raise more profit to be given to a select few.

Does anyone believe that 17,500 is going to be near the final sales figure? Does anyone believe it is going to be significantly less than 17,500 despite the claim they minted the full 17.5 k? Any thoughts?

17,500 will be near the total. Who got what is another question altogether. 3 minutes to unavailable led me to believe far under 17,500 were sold online last Thursday morning.
If they have not sold the max amount on either coin (looks like they haven’t) they could create a new product of a set. That would not change the mintage limit. If I’m not mistaken, they lowered the product limit of the silver but kept mintage limit the same. They could potentially do the same for the gold.
I cant imagine any new product. Do not see the need of an incentive to move silver or gold versions. The mint could have sold 75,000 silver medals. My instinct is what has been minted is it and it was more of either a supply issue or underestimated demand. I don't imagine anywhere near 17,270 non privy were minted. Next week should have better idea of order totals. Feel the mint has all eyes on watching the 230 Privy auction for December and ready to call it a year.

My Sunday morning purchase is still pending payment. I used PayPal and thought it was set up to use my credit card but instead it’s drafting from my bank. Hope it goes through…
My question to Michael White is "when you say that "production of the entire authorized mintage was achieved" are you confirming 17,500 coins were minted?

Just a quick flash this am. Not enough time to even get it in the bag

Pop Report as of November 19th...........
109 more FH Gold coins graded by PCGS since yesterday's report.
Three more 70 First Strike FH Gold since yesterday's report.
So only 7625 were sold?
Color me confused. How is this up for auction already? Or is this a special lot just for the #1 labeled piece?

It's US$80,000 right now:
230 lots are up for auction now at Stacks Bowers Auctions
The silver medal was 40,949 with first report, second week 49,996.
Gold numbers will tick higher but still dont see 17,500
We probably won't reach 17,500. But you would expect it to be a lot closer to that number than the silver medal was.
I still wouldn’t be surprised if they have a combo set come out
So the announced December 12 date was BS then...
Edit to add: I see that they have it now listed as now THROUGH Dec. 12th. My original understanding was that the auction was to be held Dec. 12th. Obviously I was either mistaken or something changed.

That confirms the final number will be under 17,500. How many fall-out for quality, damage, etc is yet to be determined.
That said a "survival" rate of under 99% would be surprising. How many were sold, when and to whom will be revealed later.
Both currently marked as LIMITED....
No it's not BS.
That's the day for the live auction. Pre-bidding until then.
Retracted.
@Baycity beat me to it.
I followed the order numbers. Can’t get anything close to 17,500
The whole auction is up for all 230 pieces
They can't unless they change the product limit. Currently the product limit and the mintage limit are both 17,500
That just means they have a mintage limit
There could be a silver & gold set issued later at an outrageous premium. Or some king of gimmick added and given to the big boys or another auction. They are on a mandate to raise more profit to be given to a select few.

PH raised them another $300
No, I do not.
I think it will be under 15k, they need to add the dealer purchases.
As everyone but me received a "shipped" notice? Mine is still "processing".
I'm in the same boat.

Maybe they sold 10K units for a nice round number (liked the silver at 50k).
7600 + 10% advance releases + roughly 750ish from the retail stores = 10k+/-

I just got my shipping notice about 2 hours ago. My order was placed at 7:30 a.m. eastern time on Friday the 15th.
Interesting. Mine was placed the same time, still processing, but may be getting close.
Do you know that the ABPP numbers aren't in there?
As I said "unless they change the product limit..."
Mine switched to SHIPPED...now I'm wondering, are they shipping in a box or another bubble envelope?
Unopened ones on eBay are in a box
All of us who purchased the Gold FH coin got this shipping bag.
Imagine walking out of the Baltimore Convention Center clutching "The Mint" bag in your hands.

Do we have a difference in terminology here?
Did they purposely use the words "Maximum" and "Authorized" to substitute for each other?
I dont think so. "Authorized Mintage" can mean any portion of the "Maximum Mintage" allowable.
I dont think this proves they struck 17,500 at all. Reading the details from so many posts today I believe they struck <10,000 and not 17,500.
Read the wording. Clever use of words. They could have said we struck the maximum mintage. He didnt.
My question to Michael White is "when you say that "production of the entire authorized mintage was achieved" are you confirming 17,500 coins were minted?
Maybe I just read too much into it.
Wonder why the 5th coin struck is so far ahead of the 4th struck...............both PR70DCAM.
