Boston pretty much played like how I was expecting them to play. They tend to play down to their competition on some nights but when its a nationally televised game against one of the Eastern Conference contenders the C's usually always ball out. Good Win!
That AD injury did not look good at all. I watched that game and from one angle it looked like he was just wincing from a knee below the belt and from a different angle you saw that he wasn't even touched at all. The Mavs will probably do everything possible to make sure he's ready by the time the Play-In games tipoff.
I fell asleep watching the Celtics game and apparently they won. I’ll take it lol.
Another tough break for the Mavs with center Daniel Gafford bumping knees with someone and leaving with a knee injury. That’s the third starter to get injured since that Luka trade.

They're due to get back their best center, Derek Lively, any week now. Dallas is currently sitting in the 8th seed and just a loss away from dropping to 11th out West, there's a realistic possibility that they may not even make the playoffs. That would probably be the ultimate karma falling back on the new owners.
GSW has played and won two road games (Bulls and Bucks) with Jimmy Butler in the line up. Butler says he is not in game shape yet after not playing since December; and that he is looking forward to getting in game shape. His presence in these two games has had a positive effect. Curry has been able to avoid having constant 2 or more defenders on him due to the threat Butler poses (including down low in the paint).
The successfully Warriors played an up tempo, run the other team into the ground, pace these two games.
Curry scored 34 and 38 points in these two games (Vintage Curry performance from all over the floor) and Butler scored 25 and 20 points.
Kuminga is expected to be back after the All Star break.
it will be very interesting to see if having Butler on the team ignites a winning streak by the Warriors that allows them to climb up to the #6 or better spot in Western Conference rankings.
I've only caught the highlights from those two games but Butler has looked like a good fit so far. As long as stays on the court for GS, I honestly think the reaching that #6 spot or better is definitely realistic.
Nice C's win over the Spurs and heading into the AS break having won 9 of their last 12 games.
Really odd game for Wemby. The Celtics bigs got real physical with him, especially Al Horford, and there was a 4-5min stretch in the 3rd where Vic was really dragging ass out there. I know that he recently complained about how players have been handling him out there but this was the first time that I've seen the actual affect it has on him. He really needs to put on a lot more strength on his frame especially if he plans on dealing with the rigors of long physical playoffs series.
That aside, Stephon Castle is starting to look like a guy that's running away with the ROY award. Like Wemby, he's looking like he'll eventually be a menace somewhere down the line as well. He may get there before VW does.
Meanwhile Hunter looked good tonight coming off the bench for about 26 minutes of playing time.
Hunter was one of the two realistic additions that I didn't want to see the Cavs make before the deadline, Nets wing Cam Johnson being the other.
What's up with Tristan Thompson sneaking in uncontested baskets when everyone else has called it a night? He must have some type of points incentive once he reaches 50 or 100 total points for the season lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfUkQZcIr8A&t=48s
I did read after posting that comment that he was actually playing in his hometown of Toronto and its possible he was just acting the fool in front of some family and/or friends. That would have been pretty sad if he actually did have an incentive in his contract if he reached a 100 points scored on the season lol.

OKC loses tonight so they and the Cavs tie for the best record in the NBA at 44-10 before the All Star break.
Wonder what the o/u for the All-star game will be.
IIRC they're going with a new format where the 24 players get split into four six-man teams and the teams will be coached by Shaq, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith & Candace Parker. Sort of like a tournament where they play quick games and winner moves onto the next round. There probably won't be much defense played but the points totals may differ than previous years so you may want to keep that in mind if your O/U question was gambling related.
San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama will be shut down for the remainder of the season due to a blood clot in his right shoulder, the team announced on Thursday (February 20).
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
All Star break is thankfully over (over the past number of years the NBA All Star break in the regular season is not anything that draws much interest from me).
Now there will be a race to the end of the regular season (as teams either strive to make the playoffs, or tank to get a higher draft position). Then come mid April the best part of an NBA season begins.

Cavs won a tough game against the Grizzlies tonight! Move to 47-10
I read over the weekend that the Cavs signed wing Javonte Green after his Pelicans buyout. He started his career in Boston and was a decent energy/spark guy off of their bench, I'd expect that he'd fill the same role in Cleveland. Lots of fast break points, solid defense and can hit a three. The Cavs have put together a pretty deep roster now.
Cleveland comes to Boston on Friday to finish out their final regular season meeting, should be a good game.
For any/all Hoop Heads here with a Netflix account, I highly recommend the We Beat The Dream Team documentary that was just released in the past week. It's about the college select group of players (Penny/C-Web/Mashburn/Grant Hill/Allan Houston & a few others) that beat the '92 Dream Team in their first scrimmage then got destroyed the following day by the NBA'ers. It's only about 80mins long and definitely worth the watch.

The Pistons really played lights out in that game and that arena was rocking. One of their TV analysts called it the biggest game on Detroit's homecourt in 15yrs. There was a stat posted during the game stating the Pistons are on pace for the 6th highest wining percentage improvement from one season to the next in NBA history.
