Lebron deserves tons of credit for his game winning tip-in in their previous game the night before but he was most responsible for that horrible sequence where LA blew that Bulls game.
First he’s completely out of position on defense allowing his man, Patrick Williams, to creep over all alone in the corner and the ball goes to Williams who drains the three.
Then Lebron lazily attempts to inbound the ball and turns it over to his own defender, Josh Giddey, who was guarding the baseline. Giddey gets the steal and hits Coby White for the go ahead three.
Then after the timeout and LA goes ahead on an Austin Reeves layup, Giddey literally drains that half court heave right in Lebron’s face for the win. On that final play there wasn't much that Lebron could do in that situation other than not foul Giddey but the previous two plays that allowed Chicago to go ahead were definitely on him.
Forgot to post this a few days back but this current Pistons team became the first team in NBA history to triple their wins total from one season to the next. At this point, JB Bickerstaff has to be the front runner for COTY,imo
Old man Horford scores 26 - If Cavs play Boston in the finals I think Horford will be the difference. He's got the weight to push around Mobley and Allen.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
GSW plays in Memphis tonight, then in LA on Thursday and then host Denver at Chase Center on Friday (I am going to that game with my better half )
If GSW somehow manages to win all three of those games they will be in #5 playoff spot ahead of Memphis and will be on the heels of the Lakers and Nuggets for the #4 or #3 playoff spot.
If GSW manages to lose all three games they will likely fall into the #7 or #8 playoff spot.
The end of the season games in the Western Conference are of great importance as the teams currently in spots #3 through #12 are battling it out for spots #3 through #10.
I did not look at the GSW schedule beyond the Friday night game against Denver until this morning. After Denver the GSW plays Houston.
So with yesterday's game against Memphis through the game against Houston the GSW have played and will play the #5, #4, #3 and #2 teams in the Western Conference.
It would be very interesting if the GSW wins all four of these games.
As usual, Boston comes home after a long road trip and immediately lose that first home game. They're now 0-6 in their first home game back after a road trip of 3 or more games.
They really just looked tired on both ends. Next game is Friday with Phoenix coming to town.
( Boston comes home after a long road trip and immediately lose that first home game)
I was listening to the radio the other day and someone was interviewing a Cavs announcer about how hard it is to be on a road trip with all the travel, no set sleep times, and constantly on the go not getting much sleep. He said that is the roughest thing for the road team to come home and try to rest up in just one day to play a home game - it shows.
The Cavs finally had 2 days of rest and it showed in the second half how they were able to play at a higher level.

He's pretty much just an extra body for their roster over the final 6 games, sort of like a basketball version of a September call up. If he's seeing continuous minutes after that something has probably gone terrible wrong, meaning one or more of their top rotations players got hurt.
At the GSW v Denver game at Chase Center. Half time, 66-60 GSW.
Curry is locked in and playing great. He is so good at handling the ball and creating open space that he is able to get his shot off from anywhere on the floor.

Close Cavs win 114 - 113. So I think that means Cavs magic number to clinch the #1 seed is down to 1
I tried telling you previously that the Cavs getting the #1 seed was never in question. Cleveland is too good to have an epic collapse right at the end and Boston has used these past 5-10 games to start resting players for the playoffs. Having a 4-5 game lead in this situation is pretty much sitting comfortably.
Are the Cavs going to finish with the team's best W-L record in regular season history? I'm assuming it was a Lebron led team that holds the record and they've got be close to breaking it if they haven't doneso already.
in the first and second quarters Denver took a lead. GSW came back to lead at the half. in the second half GSW increased its lead to win by 14.
Denver could not get traction on either side of the ball. GSW outplayed Denver to the point where it tossed in the towel and went through the motions till the final buzzer.
Cavs stats:
Best Record: 66-16 (2008-09) (With Lebron 28.4 ppg average)
Previous Franchise Best: 57-25 (1988-89 and 1991-92)
Second-Most Wins: 61 wins (2009-10) (With Lebron 29.7 ppg average)
Last time Cleveland reached 60 wins: 2009-10, when they went 61-21
Wow, so they're going to be very close to either matching or breaking their record for wins. 4-1 down the stretch ties it, 5 wins breaks it. Looks like they have the Kings, Bulls @Pacers, @Knicks & Pacers to close out the season. Seems definitely realistic but Atkinson may decide to rest some players before the playoffs so who knows.
The Celtics have two road games left that if they win the two they'll tie the 2015-16 Warriors for the most road wins in a season at 34. They currently have a 32-7 road record.

Golden State wins again - 118 - 104. They are on a roll, pretty amazing ever since they got Butler.
He's really stabilized that offense when Curry is on the bench and just gave that team a boost of hope. They've definitely looked like an entirely different team since he got there.
The Western conference playoffs are going to be a legit gauntlet this year, if I were one of those younger deeper more talented rosters (OKC/HOU/MINN) I wouldn't want to end up facing one of the more experienced teams that have a guy that's already carried a team to a championship (LAL/GSW/DEN maybe even LAC if Kawhi can last a full playoff run.)

Sacramento fired coach Mike Brown a little over a year after he was named COTY

and today the Nuggets just fired their coach Michael Malone and GM Calvin Booth. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44588997/nuggets-fire-coach-michael-malone-stunner

Hopefully they give Brown the night off. The playoffs don't start until the 19th so they should be able to rest him up a bit. The Cavs too with Mitchell.
