I wouldn’t have let Betts come into the stands to catch a foul ball if it’s right in front of me.
The mistake he made was he let betts catch the ball then forced his glove open and pried the ball loose.
It should never have come to that. Be proactive, you can subtly not allow him to get to the ball.

I don't care for either team, but since one has to win, I suppose it's the Dodgers.

Did anyone see the tape of the Yankee fan pulling the ball out of the Dodgers' right fielder's glove last night? it was quite blatant. The umpire called the batter out and the fan was ejected as well he should have been.

Apparently he is a season ticket holder?

He is going to tomorrow's game I was told as well

Guys at work were talking about it, no. idea how accurate any of what they said is or not

If that type of interference was in Fenway or Gillette the fan would be banned for life I bet

I also heard the guy was going to be at Yankee stadium again tonight. I cant understand it. you are correct, pull that crap at fenway or gillette and he wouldnt have to worry about paying for season tickets any longer.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

To be honest as much as I think fans should never interfere with play I got to admit I respect the Yankees for allowing this guy back, they know how much he loves them

Give the guy 1 strike and no second chances and I'm cool with that

Seriously you guys really think it’s okay to let mookie come into your seats and just bend over backwards giving him every chance to catch the ball?
He came into the stands! That’s a contested catch every time. Like I said, block him from getting to the ball. The guy was an idiot letting mookie catch it and then ripping the ball out.

At Fenway or Gillette he probably would also be severely beaten :)

Im honestly surprised MLB hasnt banned them for life from stadiums but they have been banned from game 5.

The first couple seconds were fine, but then the guy grabs Bets glove and wont let go prying it open while his friend reaches in and grabs Betts other wrist. Absolutely ridiculous to do that to a player and should be a life time ban from stadiums

Betts wasnt even really in the stands either until they pulled his wrist in.

Hey. Completely agree with you on this one. Must be a blue moon month.

These two clowns are banned from tonight's game, and should be. Additionally, I think his season tickets should be revoked and at some point MLB should ban him from all MLB ballparks. They have been threatened with arrest if they try to get into tonight's game. All this to get a WS baseball? To be fair, they are clearly not indicative of all Yankees fans, just a couple of fools who burned their fun time and their tickets...killer seats that will not be occupied by someone else.

As for "if it happened at Fenway"...I've seen a thing or two at Fenway, but as memory serves, it involved some fool yelling something not positive about the Red Sox. Lots of dark places leaving Fenway. B) Beer kinda kicks in around the 6th inning and beyond.

Betts is only 180 lbs and is 5'9, no doubt he was being held up by these two idiots, both of whom could have severely injured him, or worse, cause a possible injury that could impact his playing ability going forward.

    GO DODGERS!!

Probably wasn't the worst in-game collapse in MLB history. But a bad one nevertheless, especially considering the World Series was on the line.

I mean the Yankees with the same momentum from game 4, were smacking the baseball and took a 5 run lead going into the top of the 5th inning. I wasn't watching the game real closely, but until then the Dodgers either didn't have a hit or maybe only had one hit.

Then the dam broke on the Yankees, game and season.

Betts hit the sac fly to win the game and the series.
    Freeman won the MVP.
Ortani got his World Series ring even though he only had 1 hit for the series I think.
Biggest thing was the Yankees lost!

What a turnaround in that 5th inning.

Ok now I can go. back to being just a Red Sox fan

The only 2 things I root for in MLB is the Sox to win and the Yankees to lose 👏👏👍👍

Congrats to the Dodgers and their fans, job well done 🍻

Congrats to the Dodgers!! Down 5-0, then getting 5 unearned runs to tie the game, incredible comeback.
    Glad for Mookie and Hernanadez.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,241 ✭✭✭✭✭

man, that 5th inning collapse was pretty unbelievable. Yankees had all the momentum on their side and then lost it. It seemed as though Judge had finally gotten back on track.

I wonder what would have happened had the Yankees won last night? would a white hot judge have carried them for 3 more wins? we will never know.

The whole series was set up. to be a true fall classic

Dodgers vs Yankees each having players that had historic seasons, couldn't have been set up. any better

    Judge and Ohtani were awful

Yanks didn't show up for the first 3 games and just got rolled.

Typically hyped up sporting event that didn't live up to its billing

I was hoping for a thrilling 7 game series with the Yankees up a run in the bottom of the ninth and losing it to a walk off HR by the Dodgers

Either way I'm just glad the Dodgers sent the Yankees packing, hope the Yankees fans are crying in their cheerios this AM 😊

I am happy for all the former Red Sox players that will get a World Series ring this year after getting dumped by the Red Sox along the way. The Dodgers grabbed them as quick as a flash.

Bett's 4th WS ring (3 with Red Sox ...yeah ) he is great ..especially in playoffs.
    Freeman deserved it.
    I thought Ohtani hit two HR's ?

    Yankees lost...yeah.

Othani played a big role in the game one win but yea once he hurt his shoulder which was brushed off he wasnt the same. Either he was in pain or on pain killers slowing his reflexes but there was a noticeable difference. Same thing happened to Bellinger a couple years ago, hopefully there wont be any long term impact.

Judge had no excuse especially not on that fly ball that has to be caught 100% of the time by an MLB outfielder unless their glove explodes and it goes through it

I cant decide whose comments were funnier after the game. Soto essentially saying hes going to sign with who ever gives him the most money or Dave Roberts trying to pretend people had labeled them as underdogs.

Also how embarrassing for the Yankees to be playing New York New York while the Dodgers are celebrating lol

Yeah, dude separated his shoulder. There's no chance he wasn't impacted by it.

Next year will be interesting too. Now hes going to be coming back from a 2nd TJ right elbow surgery and a separated left shoulder while trying to go back to being a two way player. Start of the year might be ugly

He is a walking time bomb for the Dodgers. It's not a good thing that he has hurt both arms and has a long contract with a big ending. This could bite them in the ass in a few years!

Hes one elbow injury away from not pitching anymore but even just as a hitter his contract will basically pay for itself. Aside from all the deferred money they already got a real championship and the interest they have in Japan and SE Asia is insane. The other thing though is the Japanese league has basically turned into an extra minor leagues for the Dodgers with him. Yamamoto signed with them in large part because of Othani, they can just call whatever star from there the Dodgers want and theyll get them.

Yamamoto did sign with them, as reported by almost everyone, in large part due to Ohtani’s influence. Is this really the case though that the Dodgers can get any star that they want from Japan? Quite an extraordinary claim.

  • BLUEJAYWAYBLUEJAYWAY Posts: 9,112 ✭✭✭✭✭

I think the biggest draw for Japanese players to LA will be proof that LA wins championships.

The biggest draw is Othani the biggest star in Japan by far which now also includes the second biggest with Yamamoto. It certainly helps its a west coast team with direct flights but yes they will get whoever the Dodgers want and are willing to pay. The Dodgers wont be interested in the majority of them

Roki Sasaki is one to keep an eye on for them if he gets posted.
