I am not really certain anyone knows what you’re on about. You’re arguing with nobody about nothing. You have a valid theory about him guessing what was coming or perhaps Williams tipped his pitch. But that’s all it is. A theory. Yet you’ll carry on until you’ve beaten everyone into submission with your rhetorical narrative. You and Mistlin are made for each other.
Do you think it bothers me that the brewers lost the series? I feel bad for the team and it would have been nice to see them make a run but I was over it as soon as Turang grounded out. The world turns.

You self admittedly hate me. Thats fine. You argue with everything I say and the defenses are always algorithms whatever. IYou argued with me about both Othani against Judge, and Skenes having his service time manipulated. The algorithm guys cant talk about the pitch sequences or why a player would jump on a pitch.
I will however root against the teams that someone has admitted they hate me for when none of my personal friends are a fan of that team. It was a great win by the Mets who will likely now lose to the Phillies

Pirates donbt manipulate service time, Judge is better than Othani and MLB players cant pick up on things lol.
Heres an idea instead of just hating me if youre so sure Im wrong about everything how about you debate things that arent just computer algorithms.
Lets break down the Alonso AB. Why did he freeze on the middle middle first? Why did he take that same pitch that started in the zone and came down and in? Why did he swing at the same pitch in a 3-1 count that started off the plate and came back in? Talk about that intelligently instead of just attacking me

Ignoring all the insults and antagonism. Which is tough with you. Here’s my ignorant take.
Devin’s best pitch is his changeup. He needs to locate that pitch to let his fastball play. Alonso appeared to be taking all the way on the first pitch. The next 2 were uncompetitive 4-seam fastballs and then a change that was way inside. At 3-1 we’re back to what I’ve said already - Williams didn’t want to move the tying run into scoring position. In the postgame I think he said he wanted it outside and he did that. I think he would have wanted it lower but I don’t see why Alonso wouldn’t be expecting him to throw his best pitch in that situation and count. I would have but perhaps that’s because I’ve seen almost every pitch he’s thrown as a brewer. Earlier in the series I heard the broadcast talk about Alonso having trouble with low and away and Myers painted that corner against him earlier in the game. So I’m thinking Williams is going to throw his hockey puck style change outside and let it leak back but he got it higher than he wanted and it drifted too much over the middle of the plate. It wasn’t a bad pitch but Alonso out a good swing on it, out the ball in play, and it carried out. Maybe he tipped his pitch but I didn’t notice it. I. still knew he was throwing the change there.
I don’t watch a lot of Mets so not very familiar with Alonso. On that first pitch maybe he was taking to get a look at the release point. The next two pitches didn’t appear very enticing and he seemed to certainly recognize that 4th pitch as a change and was ready but saw it out of the zone. So he recognizes the pitch and has seen the movement. He seemed to be sitting change on 2-1 and 3-1 to me. I think fastball away would have been the pitch you want to throw Alonso in that count but that’s me.
The first pitch started up and out and came back in middle middle. Middle middle can freeze guys but wouldnt recommend doing it often. Pitch did have good movement on it
Pitch two in the 0-1 count was a fastball down the middle a little high but not that high. Alonso didnt trigger on it.
Pitch 3 That fastball wasnt competitive and by this point hes eliminating the fastball as it isnt fooling him.
Pitch 4 is the same as pitch one but this one starts middle middle and comes inside. Again Alonso didnt even trigger and wasnt fooled
By this point Alonso has eliminated anything middle in until he proves he can throw a strike there. The tunneling is broken for the AB as anything starting middle in is a ball.
3-1 now and he throws the same pitch as pitch one which Alonso was sitting on. He had even chocked up on the bat for that one. for some reason.
Pitch 2 and 4 should have at least gotten triggers if not swings if he was confused.
Alonso is a stud that will be a highly sought after free agent. You cant be giving away little things or making bad tunnels against someone as good as him with his kind of power.
I didn't know Alonso hits changeups .301 and slugs .589 until I looked it up this morning. I don't even disagree with your assessment and really don't see how it's any different than my lay-person who watches baseball and reads everything he can get his hands on assessment.
if Devin Williams was notorious for tipping his pitches, boy all the teams in the major leagues sure must suck at deciphering what's about to leave his hand because he's largely been lights out for a handful of years
the 4-seamer deserted him as that inning progressed and he relied heavily on his changeup when shit started to get very real. he didn't throw a single fastball in the previous at-bat to Nimmo and he let him off the hook. he tried twice in the fateful Alonso at-bat and missed both times. so @ 3-1 with guys on first & third with one out and up two runs, if i'm Pete Alonzo i'm thinking to myself, "if ever a pitch was going to travel in the strike zone, it's gonna be this one and it may very likely be his bread-n-butter pitch because he can't find the zone @ 96." that, combined with a good piece of hitting, and voila.
Williams walked the leadoff hitter, lost another guy at 0-2, then fell behind yet another at 3-1 while favoring his off-speed stuff along the way. when a pitcher struggles like that it stands to reason that things could start to become a little more clairvoyant for a hitter. what pitch is he throwing well, what pitch is he not, what is he relying on, what pitch is he known for, situational awareness, etc...............but i love how the culprit turns out to be a gap in the position of his glove so small from a batter's vantage point that wristpin's little weenie could fit into it
the very good news is that there's plenty of fresh air outside for everyone
What strikes me as odd is this all started with a statement that Williams tipped the pitch but ended with an assessment of Baseball IQ. So which is it?

Obviously some people believe he couldnt have been doing it. Really the last thing Ill say on it is that just because someone does it for 1 game, or1 inning, or even 1 batter doesnt mean they did it all year.
Alonso clearly wasnt fooled by the pitches that were coming. Theres a reason why guys watch high speed cameras of what they are doing to pick up little things and make adjustments. Every pitcher will do it at some point during the season, if youre the closer in the last game of the year you dont have the opportunity to fix it

Judge has been terrible in the playoffs since 2019, He has the highest strikeout percentage of all time with 200 playoff ABs or more and just bad career numbers. That really doesnt get talked about enough and will take more than just the rest of this year to fix it
Just noticed during the 8th inning with the Mets AB. Camera shot of an advertisement along the stands in digital signage. "Forest Lawn". Which is a cemetary in LA. Cruel.

The Dodgers will sell ad space to anyone who wants it. They need to pay Shohei.
Forest Lawn is somewhat of an attraction while hosting the burial plots of many well-known people including celebrities. This is Hollywood. We're different. 50,000 mostly drunk baseball fans won't be offended by it, I promise.
I became aware of Forest Lawn Cemetery via Johnny Carson's numerous references to it in his monologue's. Just seemed ironic to me seeing that sign with the Mets losing.

DODGERS blank Padres 2-0 on 2 hitter ( bye DS ) !!! lololol
86 was not fun if you were a Red Sox fan (sigh)
Don't forget where you heard it first.
Ohtani and Judge offering not much offense. Maybe next round.
Judge has been terrible in the playoffs since 2019, He has the highest strikeout percentage of all time with 200 playoff ABs or more and just bad career numbers. That really doesnt get talked about enough and will take more than just the rest of this year to fix it
Missouri 14 OSU 3
I'm surprised anyone can be worse than Bonds was in the post-season.
Maybe Kershaw.
Gobble.
Bonds numbers in the postseason blow Judges out of the water

Just noticed during the 8th inning with the Mets AB. Camera shot of an advertisement along the stands in digital signage. "Forest Lawn". Which is a cemetary in LA. Cruel.
The Dodgers will sell ad space to anyone who wants it. They need to pay Shohei.
Forest Lawn is somewhat of an attraction while hosting the burial plots of many well-known people including celebrities. This is Hollywood. We're different. 50,000 mostly drunk baseball fans won't be offended by it, I promise.
Gobble.
I became aware of Forest Lawn Cemetery via Johnny Carson's numerous references to it in his monologue's. Just seemed ironic to me seeing that sign with the Mets losing.
The timing was uncanny, no?
Gobble.
That was my thought as well.
