any thoughts on the Giannis hullabaloo last night? Seems like a lot to go through to get a game ball. then he says he did it because he wanted the ball for Damien Lillard because he passed kyle korver for 5th in all time threes.
In a game where Giannis drops 64pts on the Pacers, it really was weird that the only defensive stop they made on him all night just happened to be after the game in the locker room. 🤣
That ball had nothing to do with Dame Lillard and everything to do with that 64 points in one game, breaking a Bucks franchise record.
what an absolute loser. I wont really go off on this as I would like because I value being a part of this forum too much. Suffice to say, It is an ill placed political statement from Lebaby. He needs to follow MJ's lead and shut up and dribble.
Damn, Cavs Darius Garland acquired a broken jaw last night vs the Celts - will be re-evaluated in 4 weeks. And why not - Mobley also underwent surgery to clean out his knee and will be out 6-8 weeks.

That Garland injury was a really tough break, he tried taking Porzingis off the dribble and literally just drove his face right into into KP's midsection. IIRC he suffered a facial injury last season too that kept him out for some time.
Going into last night's matchup between Boston & Orlando the Celtics had lost 4 straight to the Magic, whose size has given the C's nothing but problems over the past year plus. Then last night Boston went into the game without their top 3 centers in Porzingis,Horford & Luke Kornet and with 6'-6" Lamar Stevens starting at center, they win by 17. 🤷♂️

Not having AD out there was a huge plus, he had 37/10/4 the previous game when he got hurt. I only caught the highlights for that Lakers win over the Spurs from a few nights back but Wemby hit some huge threes in that late comeback. That might have been his best game yet with 30/13/2/3/6 with 4/5 from three.
Speaking of AD, he should have won the MVP for the IST but of course Adam Silver's script had to have Lebron win it. 🤣
Don't look now but the Clippers are 11-3 over the last 14 with a current 6 game winning streak.
Tonight's Celtics v. Warriors game was very entertaining. The Celtics lead most of the game, at one time by 17 points. GS fought back and won in overtime.

That last Steph three that he hit with about 10 seconds left in OT to put them up 4, felt like it hung in the air forever and time had stopped lol.
Boston's mistake wasn't blowing a 17pt lead,it was not going at Curry more often in that 4th/OT when he had 5 fouls. Get him to foul out and its probably a Boston win.
Boston reverted to ISO ball at the end of the game, missed some well defended shots and squandered its chance to win a game that it lead most of the night. The second unit of GS played very well, as did many of the younger players on the roster.
I think Tatum rolling his ankle early in that game hurt them as well. His drives into the paint were down quite a bit from the amount he usually takes which also cut down on his FT attempts, IIRC outside of shooting a tech for defensive 3 seconds,he made just one trip to the line for 2 FTs. He also attempted just 5 shots in the 4th/OT which normally would have been around twice that amount.
Even though Curry lit them up in the that 4th/OT their defense on him was actually pretty good, its just that once he goes into God mode from deep its very hard to stop him.
I don't get why this defense (or any defense for that matter) doesn't just double Steph coming off the pick & roll each and every time. Let whichever guard plus big, mostly Jrue & Horford last night, both try cutting him off deep and let Looney,Saric or whoever beat them. Giving up twos are better than threes and Steph's shooting percentage from behind the line has a greater chance of going in than seeing one of the GS bigs playmaking with the ball from 20+ft out.
That all being said, one more foul on Curry and this game would have had a different outcome, imho. Each and every game I watch the C's hunt out mismatches on opposing defenses all night and for some reason they gave up on this tactic with about 7-8mins to go in the 4th. Also that one trip on offense where they got like 3-4 offensive rebounds while missing 4 wide open threes with a couple minutes left in regulation really hurt.
Credit Steph & GS for fighting till the end,as long as he can create open looks from three they're never really out of the game.
Also Boston going ISO late in games is what usually creates most of their wins and is a huge reason why they were tied for the league's best record going into last night's game.
On offense they space the floor with really good 3pt shooters in White,Horford,Hauser,Pritchard,Jrue & Porzingis which then opens up the driving lanes for Tatum & Brown to beat their guys off the dribble by going one on one.
Outside of less than a handful of losses, this has worked out very well for them. Its just last night Tatum rolls an ankle which cutdown on his drives and when the offense needed to hit a 3 in that final two minutes of regulation, they didn't fall.
Boston does have multiple players who shoot from 3 very well. Drives to the hoop and passes to open shooters behind the three point line works very well for Boston.
I watched a replay of last night's game this afternoon. It was very entertaining as both teams were shooting the lights out.

I don't know what illness it was but I just watched him play on tuesday night against the Grizzlies. the Pelicans blew a 24pt lead in what was Ja Morant's first game back that ended with Ja scoring at the rim for the win at the buzzer.
Zion has the skillset to be one of the most dominating inside scorers ever yet he's willing to eat his way out of the league at some point. 🤷♂️
He & Ja both have all the talent in the world yet are two All-NBA level knuckleheads.
Nice! There's been a lot of talk about Chet possibly making the All Star team as a rookie and I could see it happening. OKC is 2nd in the West with an 18-8 record and he's averaging 17/8/close to 3 blocks a game w/38% from three.
Boston put up a combined 290 total points in their b2b wins over the Kings & Clippers and that was with missing a starter in each game (Tatum vs SAC/Porzings vs LAC.)
Next up,Celtics vs Lakers tomorrow afternoon.
I thought that this was pretty crazy when I read it but right before the Spurs beat LA to end their 22(?) game losing streak last week, there was a stat that I read that the Pistons,Spurs & Wizards were in the midst of a 1-55 stretch with Washington landing the only win.

LA is fighting back though, the C's need to keep moving the ball on offense.
Stephen A Smith is talking out of his rear by ripping Boston for shooting 7-24 from three (29%) and acting like its all Tatum & Brown's fault even though they're a combined 2-5 from three which is (40%.) Porzingis/White/Hauser/Horford/White are a combined 1-11 from three which is hurting them, not the Jays.
While it is likely that Detroit will lose #28 in a row, one never knows what the outcome of a game will be. I guess that is why the game needs to be played.
This type of game (best vs. worst in the middle of a long season) is tailor made for an upset. So Boston better not overlook the Pistons.

In his previous game against Toronto, C's guard Derrick White tied Michael Jordan for 2nd longest streak (by a guard) of 7 games with 2 or more blocks but unfortunately he didn't rack up a block tonight.
