This Morgan Dollar of mine just makes me wanna cry when I look at it. 😥😢😭 Show me your best example of a coin that has PMD that you have in your collection.

    Aren't there hundreds of these threads for parking lot finds? There have been a ton of threads in the last few months. Maybe rename this thread to the Official PMD & Parking lot finds thread then whenever a new thread pops up we can direct them here?

    This token was made circa 1905 from iron salvaged from the CSS Virginia, AKA "The Merrimac." The piece is extensively damaged by rust from improper storage. Buying a better one is very expensive these days.


    If you hold it to you ear, you might hear the cannon balls from the USS Monitor bouncing off it during the fateful March 1862 day at Hampton Roads, Virginia.

    Here is a miniature horseshoe that was made from some of the same salvaged metal.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
