Actually, now that you mention it, the 93 is also a chopmarked oval stamp that has not been properly authenticated either.
The mark is rather deeply set, it may be a contemporary counterfeit stamp on a legit 8R that found its way to China..

Speaking of heartbreaking... I see a fair number of these once holed coins that end up further damaged when the pluggers polish out the solder or what ever... too bad they just couldn't leave it alone π¬
