and what is Todd Bowles doing punting the ball near midfield with 3 yards to go down 12?

did he graduate from the Mike McDaniel school of coaching?

I'll go out on a limb and call this one his last nfl playoff game. He might be back with some other team next year but unless they're loaded for a deep playoff run he's likely looking at one last regular season of play.

The Lovely Mrs. Hydrant is in total agreement with you Galixico....."He's 45!...Older than my children! Terrible pass!." I'm getting sick of hearing it......Broken record!.. Somebody take her off my hands!.....PLEASE!....Let's see what the second half brings.

Halfway into the 3rd.....Tommy is toast.... Sad.

The Tampa coaching staff should resign after this game, and let the team try to find some people who know what they doing. Brady needs to go to the broadcast booth.

Sorry, but the fans have put up with this mess all season. It’s like rooting for Cleveland or Detroit, and we are headed in that direction.

We are up to four missed extra points!

That is the highlight for Tampa Bay tonight.

It's pretty clear from this season and this game that the Tampa Bay Bucs aren't a very good football team. They look like they have gotten old, tired and lazy all at once. Can anyone say re-building year??

And a new coaching staff, but I know. They entitled to three years no matter how bad they are.

“Brady and Evens are not on the same page.” Two veteran players who can’t get on the same page through 18 games. We have heard that all season.

Bill, to be honest the Bucs coaching staff didn't have a lot to work with this year. Fans were fooled into looking at the past and expecting the same results. Players need to find the guts to retire and the staff needs to find the guts to get rid of fan favorites and rebuild.

Have you watched this team all season? I have because I live in the Tampa area, and all the games were televised. Yea, the players are old, but the offensive coaches are just as bad.

But, I know. Coaches are entitled to three years. Man, I’d love to have that deal! Millions of dollars of year guaranteed, no matter how bad you are.

Here’s some names: Rod Rust, Chip Kelly, Rick Kotite, Joe Kuherivk. All coaches of teams I followed. All of them in over their heads. Yet they should all stay for at least three years because they had “a vision,” whatever that was.

Dallas-49ers could be a good game if the Cowboys play this well.

Dallas needs to release their Kicker no later than today

If they don't I hope they lose the next game by a missed XP

Well the football season is over now as far as I am concerned. I will not be watching any more games this year as there are no more involved in watching. Time to move on to the start of Nascar and the baseball season,

Brady is getting killed for his performance. I know that this doesn't need to be the end. Where's @craig44 with some perspective? 🏈😂

I'm now hoping that the Cowboys make it to the SB.

  • MaywoodMaywood Posts: 2,097 ✭✭✭✭✭

Last night Tom Brady looked like what he is, a 45 year old QB who came out of retirement because he still thought he could lead his team to the Super Bowl. His age has showed the last few seasons and his performance hasn't been much better than average. Time catches up with everyone and it now seems clear, to me at least, that TB is losing that race. There should be no shame in that simple fact. My hope for him is that he retires soon and gets a few years rest before he makes his HOF acceptance speech. He has earned that.

  • 2dueces2dueces Posts: 6,446 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was as surprised as anyone with the performance of the Bucs. They looked like they just got a team together this week and said let’s play. Evens cuts to the middle on a Brady scramble to an open area and then cuts back to the sideline?
The line missed at least 6 blocking assignments. Maybe cause Jensen hadn’t played a snap all season? The Cowboys receivers were running wide open all game. Not 2 yards open but 5 or more.
Dak looked in complete command, something I thought wouldn’t happen. Hats off the Cowboys. Epic performance. If they play like that on defense next week Purdy just might look like a rookie quarterback.

I enjoyed the Cowboys victory last night, but I think the party ends next week against the 49ers. It's going to be awfully tough going into San Francisco against that defense and having the kind of success they had against the Bucs, I don't see it happening.

🤔 It sounds like you might want to make an avatar bet...yes, I'm currently trapped with this one for a month, but I could make it interesting. If the Cowboys beat SF, I'm back to the purple box early and you finally get Wentz'd (let's say for two weeks, because I'm a nice guy 💪💪). If the Cowboys lose, you win and I'm Cam Belichick for not one but two entire months. How bout them apples? Sound tasty to ya'?

The constant miscues on the offense are why I have wanted to see this coaching staff gone by the middle of the season. Once you have gotten into the first two games, the offense should on the same page most of the time. This offense never got on the same page. It was not as bad as Rod Rust with New England Patriots in the mid 1980s, but it unacceptable, especially with a veteran group of players.

These same coaches will be back next year, and Tampa will be at the bottom of the division. Part of it will be because it will be a rebuilding year, but most of it will be incompetence. It will take owners at least two seasons more to acknowledge their mistake and find a competent coaching staff.

Again, we find ourselves in the midst of a possible punctuation conundrum.

Did @Darin use that exclamation point to imply the impossibility of what @perkdog suggests? Or did he put it there so that we read it differently, as in No, that shan't be allowed to happen. Perhaps just going with a more solid No. or even a @galaxy27 style no would have conveyed more confidence...

    Bills-Bengals
I’m thinking if the bills defense prevents burrow from going downfield like the ravens did then bills should win easily.
If Chase, Higgins and the other WR’s consistently get open 15-20 yards downfield and the O-line holds up then game on.

Injuries to the OL seriously hamper the Bengals chances, I don't dislike the Bills but the more I watched this team play agaibst the Fins the less I think of them as contenders

Maybe I'm not understanding what you're trying to say, but "constant miscues on offense" is all about the players. What I noticed about Tampa Bay was that their defenders seemed to be caught out of place throughout the game. That is on the players, also. For example, on that 18 yard TD on 4th and four there are 3-4 defenders in a group about 10 yards away from the receiver. It was a communication problem as though nobody knew what they were supposed to be doing. That isn't the coaches, that's the players.

I cant see KC losing at home to Jax, but I do like the 8.5 points Jax is getting. Same with Giants at Philly getting 4.5. I think the Giants can win outright.

You could be right about KC not covering the spread as they usually don’t but this time I think they win by at least 2 TD’s.
Don’t bet Giants and the points it’s a trap, they’re not playing the Vikings this time. The Eagles will come out firing on all cylinders and should win by double digits.

I do know it will be extremely loud at arrowhead when the jags are on offense. Trevor made some comments about the crowd noise and it wasn’t even really a put down but the KC crowd will take it as an insult just the same.

I going to go out on a limb and say that I'm assuming you think there's no way the Cowboys beat The 49ers. I sort of think the same thing. San Francisco seems "charmed" to me and they just have such superior talent and are built well. When they got CMc it gave them a running game to go along with their receivers and Purdy has been gold. The defense is solid which leads me to believe they should win out.

in this world, nothing can said to be certain except death, taxes, QB sneaks, and fire hydrant embellishing a story. i was reminded of that last weekend when a Skylar Thompson-led Dolphins team went into Buffalo and scared the living hell out of Bills fans, and then i was reminded of that again shortly thereafter when a Tyler Huntley-led Ravens team went into Cincy and scared the living hell out of Bengals fans.

a Dak Prescott-led Cowboys team going into San Fran and ending the 49ers season would be far, far less shocking. if he channels his inner Roger Staubach again and/or someone taps Brock Purdy on the shoulder and reminds him that he's Mr. Irrelevant, it can absolutely happen.

this is the playoffs, my friends. the teams that are still alive this season are leaving it all out on the field. all it takes is one subpar performance by you and/or one superhuman performance by your opponent and guess what? it's o-v-a-h.

    death.

    taxes.

    QB sneaks.

    fire hydrant embellishing a story.

write them down on notecards if it'll help.

I mean obviously we both know ANYTHING is possible with the NFL but the D is elite, the running game is phenomenal, Purdy has done nothing to make me believe he can't handle the offense.

Looking at Dallas, they beat up a really crappy Tampa team, Brady is a shell of his former self and the team has been awful all season so Dallas might be getting a little too much accolades for last weeks win.

    I say SF 28-13

    for the record...

everyone who is predicting that the Niners will stomp the Cowboys, i really hope you're right. no one loathes Dallas quite like i do. i wish you guys could see my Facebook news feed -- it is littered with friends, family and acquaintances of mine who can't stop yapping about how great this DC team is, how they're a team of destiny, and how a trip to the Super Bowl is inevitable. it's really gross and it forces me to think about purging my friends list.

but when i eliminate the hatred from my mind and think back to what (nearly) happened less than a week ago, i get a little queasy when i read "can't happen" and "no way" because it generates terrible flashbacks of a lit match almost touching my "sure thing" parlays last weekend 😂

When the Bengals OL finally got it together after week 8, Burrow remained upright and they won out to finish the season. Now with 2nd and 3rd stringers starting I believe this is the difference Sunday. They line assignments will be hard to hear, Leslie Fraziers defense will find the weaknesses. If the Bengals hope to use short passes and go on a 10 play 70 yard drive without a holding penalty or a sack it will be tough sledding with the Buffalo crowd. Granted this is only possible if Buffalo doesn’t give them a short field.
For some reason the sharps have pushed this game from Buffalo-4 to -5.5. The OL is the key.

For some reason the sharps have pushed this game from Buffalo-4 to -5.5. The OL is the key.

i mentioned this at the beginning of the week.

the Ravens actually played a sound game defensively, but they just didn't have the offensive firepower to put them over the top. the Bills do. and now the Bengals have a patchwork o-line to boot.

i feel very good about your boys' chances on Sunday, and i'm going to drop some coin on them (awaiting Saturday's results first)

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
