So now it’s the Eagles vs. the Giants in Philadelphia. We will see if the Eagles have anything left in the tank after Jalen Hurts when down with his injury. Did the Eagles peak too soon? The victory over the Giants in the last game does not count because New York pulled most of their starters.

Curt Cousins is the best second rate quarterback in the NFL. He will never take anyone to the “promised land.”

I didnt think the Fish, with Skylar Thompson at QB, had a chance today. Hats off to them for not giving in when they fell behind 17-0. Tough to beat division rival you've already played twice this season.

Home team is 3-0 so far...can the Giants break that streak vs the overrated Vikings?

Looks like the answer to that question is yes.

Bengals hang on for the win.
Wasn’t particularly impressed with Burrow but he did stay cool under pressure and didn’t force any bad throws.
Bengals defense wins it with the 90+
    yard fumble return.

Why would Baltimore run a QB sneak. Everyone knows more often than not it leads to failure. ;)

Well I have the whole week off from work so no getting up early for me🥳
So what’s the deal with Lamar Jackson not even going to the game with his team? Not a good look for a guy who is supposed to be a leader.
Maybe he’s not planning on being back with the ravens

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,067 ✭✭✭✭✭

    True or false…….

    1. Dan Marino once rushed for 87 yards in one game
    2. Dan Marino once rushed for 87 yards in one season
    3. Dan Marino rushed for 87 yards in his career

    1. False, unless he did so in college or high school
    2. False, unless he did so in college or high school
    3. True, if you are referring to his NFL career.

For his NFL career, Dan Marino carried 301 times for 87 yards during the regular season, meaning he averaged .289 yards or 10.4 inches per carry; amazing!!

Per team policy injured players don't travel with the team. But there is some stink about this so I perused a few takes. Apparently he had travelled with the team while injured before. Either way, injured star players have sometimes traveled and stayed in a suite during the game. If he had insisted on being there it would have happened. There is plenty of talk about whether or not he was really too injured to play.

Great weekend of games so far.

I know that Brady is most likely returning to play next year, though the team is unknown. I'm still getting that icky feeling that he might go the Miami route. I'll say again, if he does that I am not watching him again. I'm out!!!!!! So let's hope he makes a proper choice. Lol

I expect the Cowboys to lose tonight. 🤷 I know that most have them favored.

Speaking of Lamar Jackson, I was watching Fox NFL Kickoff yesterday, and was surprised to hear Michael Vick say that Lamar Jackson should have put on a knee brace and toughed it out because it's the playoffs. Just thought that was a bit bizarre considering we don't know the extent of his injury. Anyway, carry on.

I still say that Baltimore would be very foolish if they pay huge dollars to sign sign Lamar Jackson. He might become a world beater somewhere else, but he’s been on the shelf for two years in a row when the Ravens really needed him. His style of play invites injury, and he’s not proven to be durable like Patrick Mahomes.

A very crazy thing indeed, the Ravens obviously have some thinking to do. I found it quite interesting that J.K. Dobbins said the Ravens would have won last night if Lamar was playing, Dobbins was also critical of the playcalling by the Ravens, and said this about the Huntley fumble on the goal line:

"He should have never been in that situation," Dobbins said of Huntley and the Ravens' decision to call a quarterback sneak at that point in the game, via The Athletic. "I don't get a single carry. I believe I would have put it in the end zone, again."

  • 2dueces2dueces Posts: 6,446 ✭✭✭✭✭

Harbaugh called the play to go underneath and get pushed in. Why Huntley did what he did is a mystery.

i don't begrudge Huntley for trying to make a play. he actually played a great game (74 QBR) and i for one was very impressed with him. he deserved to be the winning quarterback. he just needs to remember that he's Tyler Huntley and not Manute Bol prior to making the decision to extend the ball from that far out. the sneak was the right call -- always will be.

let's face it, the Bengals were very fortunate lucky to win that game. in addition to the play near the goal line, Huntley also came within a whisker of completing the hail mary on the last play of the game, and you know as well as i that Harbaugh would have gone for two. Cincy would have been 2 yards from their season ending.

i did not like what i saw out of the Bengals. and now that they're dealing with injuries on the offensive line, i like the Bills to take care of them next weekend

and if i'm a Miami Dolphins fan, i'm waking up this morning trying very hard not to put my fist through a wall when thinking about how inept my coach was at the most inopportune time. it's like Mike McDaniel stopped to think and forgot to start again on that last drive. he did Skylar Thompson no favors by dragging his feet multiple times when relaying play calls with precious little time left. do you guys realize that the officials reset the play clock on that 4th down near midfield and the Dolphins had a grand total of FIFTY-ONE seconds to snap the ball? do you know how long it takes to say "SNEAK THE BALL AND LET'S GO WIN THIS F*****G GAME"?

    not long.

makes me so sick and i couldn't care less about Miami. the players, the fans and the entire organization deserved better. McDaniel is paid handsomely to put his team in the best possible position to win, and he did anything but at the worst possible time.

Galaxy mentioned that Huntley had a QBR of 74, seems high for having a int. and a fumble returned for a TD.

Josh Allen had 2 ints, a fumble returned for a TD but also 3 touchdown passes and his QBR was 26.

Josh wasn’t impressive but you can’t tell me Huntley was 50 points better.

This Lamar Jackson thing is like soap opera, Jackson posted this on his Instagram, he's obviously trying to send the Ravens a message.

  • fergie23fergie23 Posts: 2,129 ✭✭✭✭

The Miami head coach should be fired. He calls the plays and couldn't get them in on time for the entire game. He knows he has an inexperienced QB, he has to give him more time coming out of the huddle. They wasted multiple timeouts to avoid delay of game penalties in the second half, could have been called for half a dozen additional delay of game penalties, and on the most important play of the season...couldn't make a play call for what should have been a no-brainer sneak. His excuse about thinking they had the 1st down is nonsense, what was his excuse on all the other plays the Dolphins couldn't get lined up in time?

If a player made a boneheaded decision on the most important play of the season to cost their team a chance at victory, they would be pilloried. Hopefully, the same happens to McDaniel. He was lauded early in the season as some sort of offensive savant and play calling genius, hopefully people criticize him just as vociferously after he bungled that game.

Harbaugh should be fired after last night, 2 Huddles instead of burning a time out on that last drive with the clock melting?

Why not give it to Dobbins who was clearly their best option rather than that QB dive?

If Josh Allen plays as badly as he did against Miami, the Bills will be out against Cincinnati. If Miami had had an experienced, competent quarterback, they would have won that game. The Bills gave up too many points on turnovers.

    Justin Herbert…….
One thing I didn’t realize is how many throws he has batted down.
After the aunnouncers mentioned it I started watching the trajectory of his throws and damn he throws the ball low on short and intermediate range passes. He even hit a defensive lineman in the helmet with a pass and he wasn’t even jumping up to try to block the throw. He is 6’6” you would think it wouldn’t be a problem. He needs to work on not throwing like Dan Quisenberry. When you’re 6’6” and you’re not using that to your advantage and have more balls batted down than Kyler Murray you’re doing something wrong.

If Cincinnatis o line is a porous Sunday Burrow will be in for a long day. Both teams better bring their A game or it’ll be a long Sunday for one of them.
Yes Allen had his blips but i never worry about his INTs. I worry about those throws I say “What were you thinking?” Or what was Dorsey thinking?
Bills had just ripped off 40 yards rushing and then Dorsey calls a go route.
The pass to Beasley was tipped, Easley was held but it was Allen trusting his arm a little too much. The strip sack Singletary missed his assignment and let a free runner from his blind spot.
350 yards and 3 TDS. Still needs to clean it up but that’s what I love about him. Sling it. Josh.
Don’t know what Burrow had last night in the second half but 200 yards and 1 TD won’t beat Buffalo

Big game in Tampa tonight. I am not expecting much from the Bucks. Brady just threw an end zone interception.

This one might be over by half time. Brady missed an open receiver earlier. He needs to retire.

Some teams like Jacksonville are up and coming. Tampa is down and going. This will begin a rebuilding program that were take many years, especially with this coaching team.

Dallas is up 12 - zip. The Dallas kicker has missed two PATs. He’ll be playing for Tampa next year.

Yea, let him go to Los Vegas where Brady will learn that it’s over. The New York Jets used to be into acquiring way over the hill quarterbacks. Now it could be ‘Vegas or New Orleans. Brady needs to join Gronk in the analyst booth.

It’s the usual pattern. The Tampa offense does little, leaving the defense on the field where it gets worn and beaten.

Yes, Brady has lost a step, but the Bucks’ coaching staff, especially the offensive coaches, never had a step. According to the conventional wisdom, we will be stuck with this bunch of lousy coaches for at least two more seasons. “They deserve a chance.” Yea right. :#

As for calling his own plays, Brady has led a couple of late game comebacks this year.

Three missed extra points! I have never seen this before!

In the old days with the Patriots. Brady and Belichick would go into half time, make adjustments and come out to kick butt. This Bucks coaching staff will go in and plan losing by a smaller margin.

Joe Buck tells us, “What a half by the Dallas defense!”

No. It’s the usual performance by the lethargic offense led by over the hill Brady and the incompetent Tampa coaching staff.

Reality will come for Dallas in San Francisco. They have a young quarterback and a fresh offensive brain trust.

  • MaywoodMaywood Posts: 2,097 ✭✭✭✭✭

So the Dallas kicker has missed three PAT's in this game. The Cowboys need to just try for the two-point conversion from here on to the end of the game and go for any 4th down in field goal range, dump that kicker after the game and find someone new. In a close game with Maher the Cowboys would probably lose.
