@perkdog the Dolphins were the other leg lol. in retrospect, a dumb bet. but i went straight contrarian thinking some crazy things might happen on the opening day of the playoffs.

my book cancelled all Buff-Pitt bets when the game was moved to Monday, so my 2-teamer with Michigan resulted in 46.51 of profit.

my teaser with the Cowboys tied in i have zero problems with. they never had a chance and it's a bet i deserved to eat. it served as a reminder to never, under any circumstance, have faith in Dallas come playoffs time, something i knew already but clearly failed to acknowledge.

but the one tonight in the Rams game (i missed by a half point) was such a bitter pill that i'm making it my last NFL bet of the season. i'm back to where i started almost a year and a half ago, so i'm going to pivot and focus solely on golf now that the season has launched.

the Rams were in the red zone 3 times and didn't score a TD once. on one of them Stafford almost got killed. he gets drilled by two guys, one of them blasts him in the head, he gets stepped on, no flag. 😂

here's another good one. how in the living hell is this not pass interference?

    https://x.com/BadSportsRefs/status/1746727842069549276?s=20

and their last drive of the game sent me over the edge. the Rams are on the move and on 3rd down Nacua gets his jersey grabbed. again, no flag. should have been a fresh set of downs at the Detroit 39. instead they punted, never got the ball back, season over.

    https://x.com/toyphotography1/status/1746743075018555847?s=20

that crew did yeoman's work helping Detroit to their first playoff victory in 32 years. just horrid officiating.

Best of luck. Got some of the "A" talent back in the field:Scottie,Xander.Still in a wait and see mode on Zalatoris. I went back to Wallace only because some weeks my previous week bet that fails, comes back to haunt me the following week. Probably will wait on win bets until Masters rolls around.

I placed 2 bets with self adjusted lines on the ESPN BET app because the odds were slightly better as opposed to the Caesars app.

    .
And here's a whimsical stab at a 4 team parlay of moneyline winners this weekend on the Caesars app because of the more favorable odds there.

good luck homie. my biggest fear for your Finau bet is that he's going to be distracted this weekend after the news. hope he's able to compartmentalize and go low for you.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/golf/jury-trial-date-set-in-multimillion-dollar-lawsuit-against-pga-tour-golfer-tony-finau/ar-BB1gY2Ut

i'm not going to pretend like i have an opinion on that matter, because i obviously don't know any of the facts involved. but what i do know from having been to a number of golf tournaments with Finau in the field is that he's one of the nicest guys around. he graciously signed a Masters ball for me a little over a year ago.

dude generates so much power with a 3/4 swing

Thanks for the Finau link. Interesting can of worms if you will. He will have to back burner this until October, but no doubt will occupying his mind somewhat. Article said with American Express being one of his sponsors and they sponsoring this event, he will be "heavily featured" during the event.

Received a $50 bonus bet along with a profit boost taking the Chiefs moneyline to +150. This is the easiest money that I'll ever make. The Grim Reaper is the greatest road quarterback in NFL history, AND they're paying me 3 to 2?!?!

Big day today, I lost a $100 on a 4 team parlay with Houston getting smoked and Bills loss would have destroyed it anyways so take away $120 from these wins but I'm in the good for the weekend.

I didn't bet a single thing on the Buffalo/KC game since I really wanted to enjoy it

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,080 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Nice win perk!
I won with a Niners, Lions, and Ravens parlay but stayed away from Chiefs-Bills although I still have a couple wagers on Chiefs winning the SB.

Bad beat for both of us. Missed by 2. Im was top 20 3 straight days I believe. Finau came on late but fell short. Unbelievable, amateur knocked off this field. Zalatoris looked competitive. Day seems over his back, dizziness issues. Where is Speith?

i had Im cruising along comfortably inside the top 20 practically the entire tournament, then he got to the par 5 11th today and turned into galaxy27 out there. he striped a drive and went for the green in 2, then proceeded to soak one, hack it around a few more times, and ultimately walk away with a double. probably lost 3 shots to the field on that hole and didn't make another birdie the rest of the way in.

and the worst part is that i was going to go back on my word and take the KC ML with those winnings

sorry you came up empty as well

edit: looks like we were posting at the same time. Jordan just had another kid so he's probably playing dad. he's not in the field next week, but he'll definitely play Pebble the following week. and yep, first amateur to win in over 3 decades.

The narrative that the Chiefs would somehow be at a disadvantage on the road was a lazy take. Mahomes owns the highest road winning percentage of any quarterback in NFL history. Sure, it's not 1.000, so a loss was always on the table, but the pressure was always going to be on Josh Allen and the Bills having to get it done at home.

Cashed the $50 free bet on the moneyline, cashed the $25 bet on an adjusted point spread of Chiefs -2.5, and would have cashed the adjusted point spread of Chiefs -5.5 if it hadn't have been for the goal line fumble.

Received confirmation this week that I fulfilled the requirements for the promotion at my local casino.

$10 minimum wager per week on the NFL. There were other award amounts if you were only able to bet a limited number of weeks less than 18, but if you made the bet each of the 18 weeks of the NFL season, you received $1,000 in free slot play, or you can convert it to $2,000 in food comps.

There's still one more hurdle to cross. Next week, I have to log into my account and "accept" the rewards.

All of the casinos in the KC metro area did away with their popular buffets in the aftermath of COVID, and never brought them back. So it's either fine dining in the steakhouse, or quick and easy at the deli/grill/diner.

I also assisted 2 other players with their picks and funded the bets. I took some shots on parlays and sometimes used those bets to hedge others, etc. I didn't play as disciplined as I tend to otherwise, and after betting $30 a week for 18 weeks, ended up losing a grand total of $78.31... but as a result, as of next week we will have a total of $6,000 in comps to spend on food.

It figures. Had Tony last week. Missed top 20 by 2. In the hunt this week. Usually I follow up the next week on my previous week bet that lost. Just one time. Tough loss for you. Not even making the cut. Will tee it up next week. Counting down to The Masters.

During the season I bet $120 to win
$1070 on KC winning the SB.
I would normally hedge that bet and bet a little on SF to guarantee a win but now I have tons of confidence that the Chiefs will win so might let it ride.

good job homie. my bets have royally sucked lately, but hey at least i was right about whoever won between KC-Buff was going to the SB. and i was right about feeling uneasy when it came to everyone thinking it was a forgone conclusion that a Mahomes-led team was going to lose yesterday. but then i turned right around, didn't bet instincts, and made a donation to my book.

Again my disclaimer I am no longer a bettor of games. However if I was, I’d look at Gonzaga LMU game tonite Zags -16 at home I wouldn’t put any real money on it. But the zags are not that good. They will be bigger than LMU but one again the Zags aren’t playing Zag basketball.
It’s 8 pm west coast time game on some ESPN Chanel

I figured the zags coulee loose this game outright. And I see -16. Do your diligence if you decide on it

I'm never one to tell anyone how/what to bet. Would not want to have my luck ☠️ to befall onto anyone else. However I can post who I will be playing.
Golf this week was a tough play. So many top players involved. 80 in field and no cut. Cuts down on the top 20 odds. Harder to flesh out value. And with so many aces in the field who will be heard from thought to single one out, especially that retains a value. With all that my play is thus:top 10 Aberg and top 20 Theegala. Don't say I didn't warn you. :)

    OK
That was a bad take on the state of GU basketball. One of the best games they played this year. And LMU looked like a high school team. Sorry for the tip
