What is the set you’ve completed more than once? (And you may do again?)

For me it’s Franklin Halves (not including proofs)

Many happy BST transactions

I have two complete Lincoln sets, working on a third, as I replace semi-keys with AU examples (see my WTB). Ignore me If you mean slabbed coins or registry sets. I do lack the keys for the third set.

    Raw, slabbed doesn’t matter.

I have completed a few sets... Kennedy halves (to a point), Franklin halves, CC Morgans.... I have never done additional sets, though I have made some upgrades. One is enough for me. Cheers, RickO

I have 2 complete sets of Lincoln cents from 1909 to 2019. I have another (3rd set) of 1930 to 1974.

I have a full set of IHC and am missing 9 for a complete slabbed set.

I have 2 complete sets of the 20th century type set, one in a Whitman the other slabbed.

A few years back I was working on 3 sets of Morgans at the same time, 1 in slabs (best grades), 1 in Dansco ( MS for all common & even semi-key dates) and an LOC album (nice original dirty VG - XF look for many dates). Was 100% complete with set if I combined the 3, probably 90+ % in all. Had about 350 Morgans at time.

Decided to sell of most of the slabs and LOC album for funding son's college & graduate school costs vs taking loans. Still have the Dansco and upgraded some of the dates with slabs I cracked. Use to have about 100 Morgans in slabs, now < 10.

As a kid, a Whitman 1941- Lincoln Cent folder. As an adult, a much nicer Whitman 1941- Lincoln Cent album.

    More recently, multiple 2019 & 2020 W quarter sets.

Lincoln Cents from 1941 - (what was then) Present x3 or 4 times [but that's without the 1955 DDO]. Lincoln Cents 1909-1940 x2. I've come close to completing a few other sets, but either lost interest or had Life intervene and ended up selling.

    Franklin half dollars.

I completed a set in college and lost my shirt on it when I traded it away.

I bought a second set recently. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment! I have a few sets that I collected as a kid that I now can easily afford.

Next to Washington, Franklin was the important patriot in the American Revolutionary War. If it were not for him, the French probably would have joined in against the British. If it had not been for the French Navy, the British might have escaped Yorktown and fought another day.

Buffalo Nickels. As a teenager, I put together a complete date/mm set in G-VG, using funds I earned from a paper route. As I got older and lost interest in coins, I sold that set. When I returned to coin collecting, I put together a raw set with full horns, most would have graded EF today. I eventually sold that set and put together a complete set in PCGS AU-58.

I have also put together two Trade Dollar sets, one chopmarked, one without chops.

The usual collections when you're starting out as a kid: Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt dimes, several Lincoln cents, Part 2, from circulation. So, I've filled Lincoln Cents (1940-whenever) three times, two entirely from circulation. However, none of these sets has a coin worth over $10 in average circulated condition. I'm also close (1-2 coins needed) with Washington quarters, Mercury dimes, Franklin halves, Lincolns (Part 1 & 2), 7070 type, classic silver commemoratives, and Canadian large and small cents. I completed a set a Newfoundland halves recently and could see doing another set, though I haven't found a suitable album for them.

Lincoln cents (1909-58) sold a complete set that was 90% AU, about 95% done with a second one and 50% done with a third one.
I've completed a short set of Large Cents (1826-1857) 4 times, sold 3 and the fourth one is part of my complete large cents collection (1793-1857).

Peace dollars, the 24 business strikes. I've probably owned 4 or 5 sets over the years. I've probably done two sets of Walkers, but with very few slabbed - album quality stuff.

    Two U.S Philippines 1903-1945 complete. ; slabbed MS64.6. (45 years), just a handful if that known complete in all UNC grades ;
Raw Ef -AU (10 years to finish).

Way scarcer & Rarer then many think.

Two complete sets of Barber half dollars. Both since sold.

Two unc sets of Washington quarters, one raw MS 64 to MS 66. Another slabbed MS 64 to MS67. I enjoy looking at the raw album more. I still have both sets.

  • vulcanizevulcanize Posts: 1,408 ✭✭✭✭✭

Started with Morgans in the raw and then picked up the keys in slab which spurred me on to finish that set as fully slabbed (sans the 1895 king of Morgan which I will never get to acquire).
The raw Morgans are still languishing in the Dansco and don't think I have the courage to finish it now, given the number of fakes that are floating around out there.
Kennedy halves are another of the double sets that I have - one in Dansco with proofs and the other is circulated with a few NIFC in the old Whitman album.

Completing even one set for this predominantly type set oriented collector is mind boggling! To do it repetitively, is unimaginable. So glad there are different angles to collecting and what brings us joy.

Eisenhower Dollars Circulation Strikes. - All PCGS Sets.
I built 20 different 100% complete sets , all different coins and retired them.
I built an additional 8 sets that I retired at 91.30% complete that didn't have all the newly added varieties.
I built 6 Partial Proof IKE Sets,,,,, retired shortly after all the newly added varieties.
1 complete Proof Ike Set no varieties.
Probably 12 different raw sets I built and sold over the years on eBay.

That was back in "The good old days" when you got free grading vouchers for completing sets.
I got a lot of free grading vouchers building these sets.

I've done the Walker short set twice, both album sets. The first group were made raw and made part of the full walker set, now just short the 21-D. I completed a 2nd run at the short set and have been working in slow motion to the mid-dates. Eventually I'd see graduating that to the 'full set'.

By another measure I guess i've done the buffalo short set a couple of times - one is part of registry, the other sits in Capital Plastics holder at home for viewing pleasure.
