Finally got around to reading this, damn! Best of luck in your recovery, sounds like your rehab will be lifting slab boxes over and over! Empty at first, then working your way up to 20 coins in it. Here's a coin I got ages ago.
I just had a visit with the orthopedic surgeon. He said that it is going to take multiple surgeries to fix me up. You don't find out just how crappy health insurance is until you have to use it. This is going to cost a small fortune especially now that I can't produce income. Its making my head spin Does anybody know how Go fund me is set up? I am a technological failure. These type of internet things never work for me

@gumby1234"Does anybody know how Go fund me is set up? I am a technological failure."
It is quite easy to set up and even with little tech knowledge they make it easy.
The problem isn't setting it up its getting people to find/view it.
If you have a younger family member that can help set it up and push it on social media sites like Facebook & Twitter you will get more donations. If no one finds your Go Fund Me donations will be low.
@gumby1234 Keep calm and take things one step at a time.
The first step is getting the care you need to properly fix that broken wing.
A Go Fund Me may be premature at this time, you don't even know the amount you are going to need until you get the bill.
You don't want to ask for $10K when you end up needing $50K.
Many hospitals have programs for people without the ability to pay or will settle for the amount the insurance will pay.
I was able to get a 75% discount for a medical problem when I was having financial problems.
I also had a friend that was in a motorcycle accident and was in the hospital for months, his bill was over $800K!
He was able to work with the hospital & doctors to get it down to $120K
Don't worry about the bill until it comes, the added stress is not good for you while you are trying to heal.
Everything will work out but it's going to take some time.
Must be a bad fracture if it's multiple surgeries. Best of luck. Don't be afraid to press the surgeon on the least expensive way to get better. It's an important but neglected part of the process. Insurance is so complicated and so variable, most of us in the medical world tend to ignore it and just assume it will work out. Don't compromise your care, but sometimes little decisions can make huge differences in out-of-pocket expenses.
@AUandAG Ill redirect and answer you here so the other guys thread isn't hi-jacked. No surgery yet. The surgeon saw me today and said multiple surgeries will be needed. The first surgery should be on Thursday.

BTDT 30 months ago. The bone came out my arm and was broken in multiple places. A great therapist saved me from being handicapped for the rest of my life.
Here's another that's appropriate. It features the goddess Salus, who was the Roman goddess of safety and well-being (safety, health, and prosperity). So another healing deity.

First surgery complete. Nerve block still in effect. Arm is ls like a rubber chicken right now. I can't move my fingers in the slightest. Pain in elbow.area not too bad. Pain meds can be a wonderful thing.

Gumby.
Anything, anyway we can help PM us. Glad to hear you are doing well. Remember that nerve block will wear off so keep some meds handy
Peace and best wishes Jzyskowski and the boys 😉🙀🦫
Don't wish for the nerve block to go away too quickly. It's a bizarre feeling, but it sure beats pain!
Best of luck! The enemy with injuries around the elbow is always stiffness. Be sure and do what your ortho doc and PT says. Not too little, not too much. They've walked many people down this road before.

What @BryceM said on the block, and especially on the ortho doc's and therapists. I had a terrible radial break in my right hand ring finger (still have titanium and stainless in there) and the therapy was difficult and painful.
The timer I set so I could remember to do my "hand calisthenics" every hour, 12 times a day evoked tears and wince responses like I was Pavlov's dog ready for a beating.
But I had 99%+ motion after 5 months, and could pick up a guitar and play with all ten and ten again.
We're all rooting for you Brother, take it easy and don't give up.

I’m so sorry to read about your accident and I’m wishing for you a very smooth recovery.
It sounds like you’ve got an excellent surgeon.
Having worked in radiography most of my life, I’ve seen a lot of crazy and terrible stuff.
It’s really inspiring to witness just how resilient most people are though, even through the most challenging of circumstances.
Here’s to your recovery being good as gold.
