A little upset with this one. The centering including the hologram are about as good as I’ve ever seen. There is a very slight touch to the back bottom right, not evident in eBay photos.
The issue is several indentions/scuffs in the front surface also not evident from the photos. Still a great looking card I’m happy to have but I was hoping for a 9 or 10 and it doesn’t look that way.
Added 3 today, with the addition of the Compton , leaves me needing 2 in psa 8 for my 71 team

How is Rod Carew doing? I know he's had a ton of health issues.
That 2nd year Bench is such an awesome card.
He looked good. He was moving a little slow, but that is to be expected given he is almost 77 years old and had a heart transplant. He carries a duffle bag with him at all times, that has a red heart on it. So I am assuming that is medical related? He also wore a mask the entire signing, which again is to be expected. But very good spirits.
His signature on this 1968 is a bit shaky, and even more shaky than I have seen recently. He signed this for me first, and I noticed how it had deteriorated. However, I next had him sign a multi-signed ball, and his signature on that is much better. I know that a lot of folks do not like collecting players autos once their signature starts to deteriorate, but I am sort of the opposite. I like having all of the various signatures - it tells their story and history.
I did notice that Carew's, Marichal's, and Rose's signatures have deteriorated a bit. Rose seems to be signing much smaller than he used to. And I also noticed some weight loss in some HOFers - Marichal and Gossage come to mind quickly.
And could not agree more on the 69 Bench. While the rookie cards are awesome, there is something about a HOF card + a rookie trophy + an autograph = amazing.
A friend of mine was selling off his '54 Bowmans and picked up the HOF I liked and needed from his collection. I have always thought this set is the bargain of the '50s cards -still full sized and a nice selection of players - but no key rookies. Will likely never complete the HOF set because I still need Mantle and Williams but really happy to add the Mays.
Nice adds brad31. Those 7s and 7.5s look like some real high end 7s and 7.5s that to me wouldn't look out of place in a higher grade slab. Your friend did a nice job of collecting some of the better examples. Love the Mays.

Another pic from an interesting set - I showed the slightly oversized Mantle earlier this week - here are some of the size and cut discrepancies - some undersized, some oversized, some trapezoidish, some normal. Can’t imagine they were cut at Topps… any ideas?
In the second pic you can see the width variances too.

Just got these back yesterday. The 73 Harmon card might be my favorite of his, All-Time. A wonderful photo.

Kind of interesting:
A little oversized, but I guess within tolerance - from the recent Collect Auctions and a set with a few oversized/undersized cards...

As far as I can see the only surface defect is a tiny pin sized dimple on the front bottom left. May attempt a crossover some day, maybe not.
