Love looking at all the great stuff everyone is adding to their collections.
Not much happening here. Had a buy-it-now that was canceled by the seller. Message he sent was price mistake meant to be auctioned and that Surely you must have thought - "Hey this is too good to be true!" So I am cancelling this order! So that sucked but things happen.
Not that it matters but can I assume eBay doesn't have a price mistake in the reasons for canceling for sellers? I've never sold anything on eBay so I only ask as the reason in the cancel details is Out of stock or damaged
But did manage to find a couple things at the Goodwill (hour from my location). Stock has been horrible in the store during these trying times the past couple years and the past two times I've visited this year their prices have frankly become to high for used and mostly rough condition. I can actually buy new items elsewhere for less. With that said I did okay on these as they were only $2 each.
Michael Jackson is a US 1st pressing. It was FILTHY. But after cleaning condition is very strong VG overall. Side 1 plays VG+ with some minimal issues and side 2 a strong VG (others would probably say VG+ but to much noise for me to grade it that).
Earth, Wind & Fire is in really nice condition except for what looks like a whoopsie on side 2. Clicks for about 15 to 20 seconds. Other than that plays VG+ or better with an occasional pop or click.
U2 plays VG+. It could stand a cleaning (it's not bad as is).
They had a bunch more including these
Stevie Wonder – Stevie Wonder's Original Musiquarium (don't currently have this on vinyl)
Dona Summer - Live And More
Bee Gees - Spirit's Having Flown
Shaun Cassidy - Shaun Cassidy
Shaun Cassidy - Born Late
and if they had been in better shape then my current copies I would have added them to the collection but these were horrible looking. Honestly they should have thrown them away as they were that bad.
Did pick this up as well for $5.
Celestron PowerSeeker 114AZ. Needs to be cleaned up and probably adjusted. It's been very cloudy here at night so haven't been able to test it out.
Doesn't compare to the items most collect on here but that's what makes us all unique.
Been a decent month for my my Griffey basic set. This takes me to 202/221. Total pop of 14 in all grades for this one, I love the design and picture on this 96 Ultra!
More scans from the latest Ultra Modern. I brought a lot of 30 Brady insert cards for a little over $45 delivered in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. So far as they filter back, after fees from eBay/PSA are deducted, made over $800+ profit. I still have 12 of the cards out for grading. Ranks right up there in my Top 10 AT buys. Every card was Mint/Gem Mint with one 8 so far sprinkled in. Somewhere in the Black hole of my collection in storage I know I have the True Blue version of that TD Club.

The May Flower brought the return of my first ever submission. The results on the Brady cards were a little disappointing - except for the Ultimate Victory as I was certain it would receive an 8 due to the L2R centering. I have no idea why the Press Pass card only graded a 6. My Nolan Ryan rookie is actually 1 grade higher than I thought it might get.

Thanks! I typically like action shots on the front but the backwards hat jr pose is alright in my book.
This is arguably the toughest of the 1988 SLU basketball cards to acquire. Just a matter of me being at the right place at the right time when this was listed as a BIN. You'll see a few unopened Karl Malone figures with the cards from time to time, and every so often a loose/raw Malone card will pop up, but this is actually the first graded Malone that I've ever seen as an active listing on eBay. I did not hesitate to click the Buy It Now! button.

hey countdouglas,
Awesome on your Perfect-Timing...
I think this is one of the better-looking modern RCs, and Beltre is quietly one of the best 3B ever to play.
I have to agree. I've never really thought of Beltre as a HoFer, and judging from his 4 All-Star game in 21 years, most people were with me, and yet the only third basemen who clearly were better were Schmidt and Mathews. Boggs, Beltre, and Brett in some order are 3-5.

I put A-Rod 1. 1194 games at 3B and 1,272 at SS makes him either in my book. That gives you Wagner at SS and A-Rod at 3B on the team of all-time greats.
Beltre is a no doubt HOFer and belongs right there on the list.

Beltre was pretty awesome and I can’t figure out why he had so few All Star appearances (not that it means much) considering he had great numbers basically every year. His monster year where he finished second for MVP was the same year Barry broke baseball statistics forever.
93.5 WAR, 3000+ hits, 475+ homers and he was consistent until the end. No doubt hall of famer.
Picked this up in an auction recently. I remember ripping a case of these with my friends in 85 or 86. I still have those cards in near mt to mint condition and a few of the rookies I need to send in for grading. Box looks amazing in hand.

It’s actually simple: Adrian Beltre was a notorious and consistent slow season starter and equally strong season finisher.
I won a few fantasy titles based on that knowledge. 😉

Best looking set of the 80s in my opinion with a great rookie selection and plenty of Gretzky cards.
Very nice 8/68 Tim. @1951WheatiesPremium

“I’m sorry that I was unable to contribute to this thread/topic; I think all of my flowers have wilted.
My garden tiller had a bizarre accident; my wheel barrel is rusted out beyond repair, along with a broken handle and a flat tire
It was rather difficult for me to get water from the well since my bucket had a hole in it and I noticed that my hatchet was extremely dull to cut a branch down to plug my water bucket.
My soil either had too much nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium or not enough; after many days and nights working with my soil trying to condition it properly to the best that I could do, I found that it brought disappointment to me.
Although I shoveled a lot of manure here typing this one out...
In other words: I’ve been getting outbid on my guys way too many times this month, so No May Flowers for me”
Thanks to the unique and wonderful timing of the universe, I had two beautiful "rookie cards" arrive on the same day. The use of quotes can be attributed to really, really [crazy] stretching the definition of rookie card; one card, the PSA graded copy, belongs to one of the greatest players in the history of the game of baseball whose first Topps card came long after his debut and the other is a(nother) beautiful raw copy of one of my favorite actors in his signature role.
So, let's get to it, then! Here they come, in high resolution...

hey 51Wheaties,
Pretty cool with your Stanislaw...
1) Some great stuff being shown- nice pickups; sold some Hostess panels a while back so those bring back memories;
2) @Barfvader I have scans I'll be posting soon on the record box that came from my storage unit; I keep meaning to do it and sale stuff just gets in the way; will have time soon as there will be a lull in subs coming back;
3) I'd lower grading "expectations" on Pacific produced stuff. "Normal" is PSA 7 and 8 == getting a PSA 9 and above on some stuff is harder than it first appears. Great grades on the Pacific stuff from my perspective. I know I'd be happy to get those Pacific items back. I would be more inclined to be let down by the Press Pass, but would get over it and try again.
4) @Rofles I am also guilty as charged. Generally then costs me the equivalent amount of cash so she gets herself something of equal value- and a favorite dessert sorta says "sorry sweetie couldn't resist the box". It's kept me married 26 years.
She once explained to me " I just get angry when you spend $$ on cards- and think I'm not worth the same amount".
Couldn't think of something to say that would allow me a SAFE out = so I just nodded. And remember my woman knows where I doth sleep
And because gotta post a card- here's a card recently back

First, cool box Rofles and I like what's on the way too.
Second, maybe a more fascinating topic. Wives opinions of husband's cards and is there any wiggle room to shift opinion and spin it to improve the current state.
Is it that your money was used to buy something that gives you pleasure? 😄 Thought I might have read it that way and I can see that. Or is it that it was family money wasted? Or that it takes up too much space in the house? I can see that and maybe more challenging to build a case there.
I think one of the best angles could be its a long-term investment. Then you get to keep it a while. Ha ha. If you pitch it short-term you might have to sell too soon. But maybe some education casually dropped on how the prices of some cards, unopened boxes recently have seen explosive growth. Better results than some mutual fund in your 401K if you look at timeframes that support your case. You are an investor and a wise one. Look at this lucrative space. Not just a guy who blows all his extra cash on pieces of cardboard with pictures on them.
